  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🤦🏻‍♂️ CRUNCH LINES?🤦🏻‍♂️

    🎶MAKE ‘EM LAUGH…make ‘em laugh…🎶 “Make ‘Em Laugh” – Donald O’Connor 1952  https://tinyurl.com/ybgt4gd8

🤦🏻‍♂️He’s feeling even WETTER than a noodle that’s gone limp,
    An ACTUAL analogy?…Who knows…he feels a simp…
He played the WINERY last week, and LAVISH the applause,
He SHOULD have used the same jokes…it might have helped his cause
He feels his stomach SWIVEL…he just can’t comprehend…
What went so wrong …but we can see HE WAS AT HIS WIT’S END…🤦🏻‍♂️

Funny, (no pun intended), but we’re always told that laughter is the best medicine…and yet here’s this poor guy looking pretty sick…

So…Today…A disheartened stand-up comedian…and a puzzle, that despite its 17 letters is JEST another easy, breezy solve. The key? The words CLEVER = WIT, along with “ran out” = an END, in our question, that definitely set the STAGE…Added to our dialogue, where both the club manager and the comedian are troubled over what went wrong? = WIT’S END…Yes…A double whammy…his WIT ended…so…HE WAS AT HIS WIT’S ENDhttps://tinyurl.com/3f7r74xh …A great PLAY on words…

Jeff’s💎Gem? From the rather distinguishable look of the comedian, I’m figuring Jeff had someone particular in mind when he made his SKETCH…But I’m not sure who. My take? With the facial hair, and the dialogue about needing to be “around family to get more material”, Jim Gaffigan https://tinyurl.com/2bp9fjhh immediately came to mind. The father of 5 children, ranging in age from 12 to 20, his humor is mostly based on the trials and tribulations of parenthood…And he definitely keeps his audiences laughing…

So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, who despite our telling him that he wasn’t funny, decided to enroll in school to become a stand-up comedian…They told him he’d be taught in steps…He never made it past the first STAGE…🤦🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤦🏻‍♂️HE WAS AT HIS WIT’S END when at the LAVISH WINERY he sat in a SWIVEL chair without looking…he SHOULD have realized that being so close to the ACTUAL sprinklers the chair might be one of the WETTER ones…🤦🏻‍♂️

🌧️ The WINERY was LAVISH, but now with all this rain?
He SHOULD have realized outdoors could hinder the campaign…
The seats were getting WETTER as the ACTUAL truth set in
His head…a SWIVEL back and forth…he watched the crowd grow thin
The day for sure a washout…no way now to pretend…
He sighed a sigh of sad defeat…HE WAS AT HIS WIT’S END…🌧️

  4. 😂Not so easy to make people laugh,
Sometimes audiences? Split half and half…
    Those who do get amused,
    Others simply refuse…
    Feeling that you’ve just made a gaffe…😂

🙇🏻‍♂️Comics stand up and do try their hand,
Hoping reception turns out quite grand…
But there are those times when,
One feels like a wet hen…
    Angry that one’s jokes just didn’t land…🙇🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️The comic we see here today,
    Hasn’t performed his usual way…
    Most times…his crowds roar,
    So tonight? He feels sore…
‘Cause the room he just couldn’t quite play…🤦🏻‍♂️

    🤷🏻‍♂️So he’s thinking material lacks,
And he’s desperate to get back on track…
    Perhaps long on the road…
    Needs his humble abode…
So that he can get his mojo back?…🤷🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️Here’s to hoping he comes up with jokes,
That go over well with the next Folks…
And he stands back on stage,
    As before…comic rage…
Or we deal with an unhappy bloke!🤷🏻‍♂️

  5. Didn’t get the puzzle solved this morning. Saw what appeared to be the correct starts to the phrase, like HE WAS IN, HE WAS AT….etc, but never could finish up. Ahhh, the old Sunday Stumper. Thanks for the post, Angela and the cute song from Singin’ in the Rain. Enjoy your Sunday. Terry

      • And a special thanks for the Junior Jumble…btw, looking for a book of Junior Jumbles for xmas gift, have what I hope is coming via Amazon…so we’ll see. Terry

  6. It’s Sunday funday ! I did have fun with the anagrams ! I got all 6 of them and couldn’t wait to read the puzzle ! But too many words and my brain was not focused , and I think it’s because I have to be Santa Clause today at our local pub and that’s been occupying my mind ! I still had fun with trying to figure out why the comedian was AT HIS WITS END ! And yes , Angela , that song was the first I’ve heard and as usual it was very good ! I loved your analytical posts with Jeff’s Gems and his comedian , Jim ! So let’s head on into Monday and a whole week of fun and entertaining jumbles as usual !!!!!

  7. To think that I’m completely broke

In the category called the joke

    Audience has paid top dollar

    To hoot and to holler

I can’t let down those good folk!

I’ll have to think of something new

Real witty, heard just by a few

    Can my family provide

    Jokes that are not offside

If not, to my career I fear it’s adieu!

    Helen

  8. The words were easy, but it took a while to solve the puzzle. I finally guessed HE WAS AT HIS, which left WIT’S END. So many possible three letter words made it tricky.

    • Agree too many 3 letter words for me to solve the cartoon. I thought the first 2 words were he was rather than at his. Chuck.

  9. Quick on the anagrams, but the answer left me scratching my head along with 55% of those who chose to Jumble. Guess the JOKE was on us.

  10. Like the others, the anagrams were easy. Solving the puzzle took some time but knew ‘wit’ had to be part of the answer. After getting nowhere for 20 mins focused on the apostrophe and once figured out it had to be “wit’s” everything fell into place.

  11. Good morning. The words were easy and I had half the cartoon solved but couldn’t come up with the last two words. Really enjoyed your song video Angela. I remember it from years ago. Thank you for all you did. Until tomorrow take care.

  12. My ACTUAL problem was the third anagram. Puzzle solve came easy. I do believe that to be Jim Gaffigan, too. Very creative Sunday fun.

    • Right? There’s so many stand-ups out there, and Jeff does know many of them, but yes, Jim Gaffigan popped right into my head.🤦🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️
