A little reassurance…spends AWHILE with young Bert…
It does BOGGLE his mind a bit that Bert’s fear may grow deeper,
He’s still weary of dark each night…and it’s made him a LIGHT SLEEPER…💡
I had an entire post written up, but in light of yesterday’s tragedy in Georgia, my heart’s not in it. So I’m dispensing with the puns and jokes for today…
So…Just two days after a sweet puzzle about a Father and son, we find ourselves here again today. And we see a Dad trying to negotiate with his young son over how many LIGHTS are needed in order to fall aSLEEP. And you may have to look closely to see that there’s a flashLIGHT in young Bert’s hand…And that’s the LIGHT being referred to by Dad in his dialogue. But being afraid to “go to bed (= SLEEP) in the dark”, = (no LIGHTs), as our question states…without the flashlight, the balloon-shaped lamp and the star nightLIGHT…makes little Bert a …LIGHT SLEEPER… https://tinyurl.com/2ahx4fub

🙇🏻♀️Being a LIGHT SLEEPER, it did BOGGLE the mind that she’d have to wait AWHILE before her sister, despite living so close, would bring the sleep machine…you’d think she’d PAUSE a moment and EXERT herself…🙇🏻♀️
🤷🏻♂️He said he’d stay AWHILE, but no way EXERT himself, Whatever they were planning…needs to remain on the shelf… He promised he’d play BOGGLE with his kids tonight…and so, He’s only there for a short PAUSE…and then he has to go No time to waste, he can’t afford to get himself in deeper… And def can’t deal with it tonight…’specially being a LIGHT SLEEPER…🤷🏻♂️
🤷🏻♂️With a child afraid of the dark, It’s hardly akin to a lark… For their worry is real, And a parent must deal… Carefully with their remarks…🤷🏻♂️
🤦🏻♂️It’s so sad for us to see their fear, But it’s part of parenting we bear… One should never discount, What to children amount… To something that’s very severe…🤦🏻♂️
💡So we try to cajole with a smile, Knowing the child’s scared all the while… And if lights are the need? …We try best to accede… And always walk the extra mile…💡
🤷🏻♂️For as parents of course we all know, Soon or later our child will outgrow… What right now is so real, And night’s sleep it does steal… Worrying about every shadow…🤷🏻♂️
👍🏻And the little boy we’re seeing here, Will one day learn there’s nothing to fear… No one’s under the bed, And there’s nothing to dread… And we’ll champion fear disappear!👍🏻

This was a real thirst quencher ! This thirsty-Thursday had me get all the anagrams nicely ! The jumble was everything you said Angela ! The LIGHT and the SLEEPER was right there ! Agree about the Ga tragedy, but we also had a similar smaller tragedy here in central Illinois with 2 policemen shot while trying to arrest a man in a house. The policemen were wounded and the man is still in the house with the university and neighborhood shut down. Chuck.
