  1. Good Morning, Everyone! 🇺🇸 MASTER-PEACE THEATER 🇺🇸

🎶 Imagine all the people…livin’ life in PEACE…You may say I’m a dreamer…But I’m not the only one..I hope someday you’ll join us..And the world will be as one…🎶 “Imagine” – John Lennon & The Plastic Ono Band 1971 https://tinyurl.com/43yzdwkb

🇺🇸 The time for fighting over, and it’s a welcome PAUSE,
The War of Revolution… fought for a noble cause…
No reason to EXERT themselves, the details all worked through,
These men are here to formalize the freedom overdue…
No need to hear a SERMON, Britain knew best to concede,
Hopefully get along now, work together, cut the greed…
War should be SCARCE, but sadly till today it doesn’t cease…
But what we’re seeing here right now? It’s def a “MASTERPEACE”! 🇺🇸

If there’s anything that rates as one of my least favorite subjects, it’s War. So I won’t go into any in-depth explanation of today’s theme. I will state though that with the September 3rd, 1783, signing of the Treaty of Paris, which was drafted on November 30th, 1782, and took effect on May 12th, 1784, Britain “formally..(finally) recognized” our independence…and for me that’s good enough. But if any of you are more of a History buff then I am, and would enjoy the nitty-gritty of it all, here’s a link https://tinyurl.com/26cjn7rr that I used a while ago to help one of my nephews with a school assignment. It’s an interesting recap…

Ok, moving on…Today’s words while offering up nothing new, give us a split decision as far as our anagrams go. We’ve seen XTREE on 01/12/21, https://tinyurl.com/uhrxbvyd and SUPEA on 05/01/20. https://tinyurl.com/u5ryba4 And the only word that gave two of the Early Birds a bit of a fight was SERMON. And I’m not going to preach on that either…

So…Dateline: Paris, September 3rd, 1783. The Treaty in full view atop a table. And seated, we see Ben Franklin, quill in hand, accompanied by his fellow diplomats, John Adams and John Jay…and the humiliated representatives of King George III. Obviously uncomfortable in defeat, it’s plain to see that this whole thing is not their cup of tea…but hey…the time had come…finally…and let’s face it, Folks… it took long enough ironing out the details…So, in answer to today’s question…This Proof of PEACE was definitely a work of ART…This Treaty was a “MASTERPEACE”!

Jeff’s Gem? It has to be that dialogue. Ben saying “Time for your John Hancock”? https://tinyurl.com/6utettfc And the brow-beaten bewildered Brit asking…”My what”? John Hancock? Such an influential figure in the American Revolution?…Talk about the whimsy!… It just doesn’t get any better than this!

So, There you have it Folks, Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and I’ll leave you with a little American Revolutionary humor…”What did King George think of the American colonists?… He thought they were revolting”! And with that…PEACE OUT! 🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤷🏻‍♂️The SCARCE chances of finding a Pastor who could give a short, meaningful MASTERPIECE of a SERMON, gave them great PAUSE, and they knew that they might EXERT a lot of time and energy looking for him…🤷🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️ They weren’t looking to EXERT themselves more than they should,
The SERMON that the chairman gave fell upon ears of wood…
The chances SCARCE that they’d go out and search without a PAUSE,
Especially that most of them had no faith in the cause
They took their time and set out…with no thought of elbow grease…
To look for what the chairman called the company’s MASTERPIECE! 🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. Toughest J of the week for me.
SCARCE took a long time, I kept wanting to put the ‘C’s together.
Solution really took me a long time until finally PEACE jumped off the page. Master took a little longer.
Fun cartoon today and I also loved the John Hancock comment.
    On to the weekend!!!!!

  4. Well I have learned a lot in a very short time – the fancy John Hancock signature for one thing. From a UK perspective, the name that usually comes up is that of George III, remembered as the monarch who lost the Americas.

Many angles to take from today’s cartoon…….

The delegation was required to sign
    Right on the dotted line.
    With writing flamboyant
    Americans were buoyant –
“We’ll create our own country real fine!”

I am sure Angela has another angle. – Angela’s angles

    • Hi Helen. I think we’re all in agreement with you there. We often comment about learning something new through the Jumble….An added bonus! As for our Limericks, looking to follow yours as closely as possible, I’m in between these two…So here’s both. And I’m loving your flamboyant/buoyant! 🙋🏻‍♀️

      🇺🇸 The war’s over and that’s a real boon,
Though the details they didn’t come soon…
But old Ben lent a hand,
      And took a hard stand…
And there’s nothing left now to impugn! 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 While peace is a delicate thing,
It’s freedom the song we must sing…
      We outdid the Brits,
      Stuck to it with grit…
And victory home did we bring! 🇺🇸

      • But it does have a nice FLOW to it! Thanks for commenting, Regina! 🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Sermon gave me reason to pause, but having gotten all the anagrams and letters, peace was a given as part of the cartoon solution, but ‘master’ escaped me,though it should have been obvious. In other words Friday got me.

    • Good Morning, Professor. The MASTER pART? Hidden within the dialogue…Ben saying “work of ART”…Very cleverly played! Enjoy your day, Prof! 🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Hard one for me today. Sermon took a long time, and finally got it by backing it in after figuring out cartoon answer. Excellent song choice, Angela.

    • Good Morning, Don. Sermon PRAYED 😉 upon my friends a bit this morning, too. But 👏🏻👏🏻for sticking with it. And thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed my song pick. Wishing you a good one, Don. Be well and stay safe…🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Like Mig, Scarce took some work. I had no ideas for the answer other than that the first letter had to be a consonant. I finally saw Pact and, once I ditched that, Peace came to mind. The remaining letters spelled Stream, which made no sense, so I kept jumbling to get the rest. One of my very favorite songs, Angela. Wishing all a great weekend.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. As I was just telling the Professor, part of the MASTER plan this morning, was paying attention to Ben’s description of the Treaty. It was KEY! 😉 And I agree, it’s a beautiful song. Wishing you a great day, Caroline. Enjoy! 🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Good morning. I didn’t put down scarce as the word that took the most time but in reality it did. The cartoon answer took less time to get once I put down the letters. I saw peace after a minute and with the left over letters I came up with master. I still wasn’t sure I had it until I checked. Enjoyed your song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. 👏🏻👏🏻Well done! And thank you…And hoping you stay well and safe too. 🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. FYI: Today is NATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY. And it’s also NATIONAL CHEESECAKE DAY! Need I say more? Spend some quality time today with everyone’s friend, the Cheesecake. And enjoy! 🍰☕️🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Challenging puzzle this morning. Scarce and sermon took me some time to figure out and had to study the cartoon dialogue a while before I came up with peace and then master. Angela, your reference to Masterpiece Theater, made me think of a spoof Sesame Street did many years ago “Monsterpiece Theater with Alistair P. Cookie – Cookie Monster complete with ascot) hosting. Hope all of you have a good day.

    • Betty…You’ve brought back some great memories! IMO, the creative genius of Sesame Street stands alone…I went looking for these two…”The King and I” https://tinyurl.com/zb4bfhyr because the dance never fails to crack me up…and “Cyranose” https://tinyurl.com/xdc85hmb because the rhyming…well, the rhyming! I’ve watched it with the kids so many times…because I love hearing them yell “NOSE” each and every time at the screen! I could watch all of them a gazillion times, and I still find myself laughing out loud. Thank you…between this and the cheesecake? All’s right with the world today! Oh…and 👏🏻👏🏻on studying the dialogue! Wishing you a good day too, Betty. Enjoy! 🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️
