  1. Good Morning, Everyone 👮🏻‍♂️CELL SHOCK? 👮🏻‍♂️

🎶 I hear the train a comin’ it’s rollin’ ’round the bend, and I ain’t seen the sunshine, since,I don’t know when,…I’m stuck in Folsom Prison…And time keeps draggin’ on,..But that train keeps a-rollin’, on down to San Antone…🎶…”Folsom Prison Blues” – Johnny Cash 1957 https://tinyurl.com/3k97yy9t

👮🏻‍♂️ He was the head of ROTARY Club, respected for a fact,
But then he turned to PIRACY…and proved he had no tact…
One thing led to another, HENCE convicted of the crime,
And his SWEET life came to an end…’cause now he’s doing time…
But foolish is as foolish does…and now he’s further shown us…
    He hasn’t gotten smarter…thinking he’d just ESCAPE NOTICE…👮🏻‍♂️

With BREAK OUT in both our question and our dialogue, I doubt this one could ESCAPE anyone…

So…Our main character today, PENN E TENTIARY, is just that…a real character. Thinking he’d ESCAPE NOTICE https://tinyurl.com/mw3zkmrx  by trying to break out of prison in broad daylight, just goes to show that whatever CELLebrity he may have held before, didn’t SERVE him well when it came down to common SENTENCE…I mean sense…And obviously even that job in the prison laundry didn’t help him make a CLEAN getaway. He’s busted…Period…but no end of SENTENCE…

Jeff’s💎Gems? You gotta love the badge on the dog…And the guard up top, with the rifle, has such a broad grin on his face…I guess he feels it’s their LOCK KEY day…And as for Penn?…I can’t be sure what that is at his waist…an apron, a pillowcase, a towel? Obviously something from the laundry…IDK…Perhaps Jeff might let us know how that item’s ENCLOSURE unFOLDED…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of an article I read about a man classified as a clairvoyant midget who had successfully escaped from prison… All points bulletins were issued for a SMALL MEDIUM at LARGE…👮🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 👨🏻‍💻His interests right now, a PIRACY case, and old ROTARY phones, an odd pair for sure…but the case so far was able to ESCAPE NOTICE in the area…HENCE, though he intended to look into it… he was comfortable taking his SWEET time…🧑🏻‍💻

🏴‍☠️ The book was about PIRACY, took place on the high seas,
‘Twas written by a ROTARY, oh…Notary should be…
He did a lot of research, HENCE felt he was on track,
And thought ahead to SWEET sales…hardcover…paperback
He covered all the bases…of the operandi modus…
To guarantee that nothing had a chance to ESCAPE NOTICE…🏴‍☠️

  4. 🤷🏻‍♂️Penn held his head high at one time,
But now he’s paying for his crime…
    Found himself in the clink,
    Never once did he think…
There’d be an end to life sublime…🤷🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️He got caught up in tons of red tape,
And from prison now looks to escape…
    But his planning sub-par,
    So it’s back behind bars…
    Undoubtedly with quite a scrape…🤦🏻‍♂️

👮🏻‍♂️Caught on barbed wire he’s in a pinch,
How’d he think escaping was a cinch?
    With cameras around,
    He was easily found…
Surveillance had him inch by inch…👮🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️So it’s obvious things will get worse,
This attempt of his proven adverse…
There’ll be more time to serve,
    Which of course he’ll deserve…
And he’ll sit and be forced wounds to nurse…🤦🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️Too bad Penn hadn’t taken in stride,
His sentence and the time inside…
Now he’s def sealed his fate,
That failed hop o’er the gate?
He simply just shouldn’t have tried…🤷🏻‍♂️

  5. I really tried to end the week with a smooth jumble solve , but it ESCAPEd me ! The anagrams were good , but had to work on PIRACY ! The other were there ‘ but the jumble , I just couldn’t put it together ! I was looking at Sentence , but I only had one N ! It just didn’t come to me ! So I’m hoping Saturday will cap the week off good ! And I’ve always liked that Folsom Prison Blues song ! Have great TGIF !!!!!

    • Jim…You lost me…The solve calls for 2 six-letter words…”sentence” has 8 letters…🤷🏻‍♀️

  6. Nice post, Angela…pointing out all the interesting traits of the prison guards and dog !!! And a great song to boot this morning. As for the puzzle, it was obvious that ESCAPE was going to be one of the words, but I fell short with the second one, so unscrambled the anagrams to finish up. Enjoy your TGIF. Terry

    • Tk you, Terry. But I think it’s worth mentioning that the game was devised to be played by unscrambling the words and then getting the solve. There’s no falling short…Don’t put so much emphasis on solving without the letters …I think you’re being unfair to yourself. Here’s to the end of the week…and hopefully some end to this heat! 🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Oh, Angela….I know. But it’s just a part of the puzzle mania Marsha and I go through each day. And re-reading my post, I don’t think I was tooooo awfully hard on myself. And as I recall, you never have to do anagrams….right?? Regardless, thanks for the comment and see you tomorrow !!! Terry

        • Yes, right, Terry, I don’t work with the words until after I solve. And by no means was I judging. As long as you’re having fun with the puzzle, that’s what counts. 🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. The first word apparently has two solutions: SWEET and WEEST. WEEST is the superlative of WEE, meaning little. One may argue that WEE is not English, it is Scots, but the word WEE appears in regular English, as we speak of the WEE hours of the night, with the WEEST hour being probably 12:30 or 1 am. WEEST does lead to NOWISE ACCEPT, meaning that this prisoner is in no wise or case accepting the terms of his imprisonment. He’s probably in prison because he dealt in STEEP COCAINE.

    • Yours was an interesting, and pretty obscure perspective.

      Terry

  8. The anagrams were a quick solve as was the first cartoon word, but the second, notice, required putting my thinking cap on, My wife had a nice birthday yesterday, topped off with our son and all 8 grandchildren here to help her celebrate! Chuck.

  9. Good morning. Was stuck on Piracy and had to look it up. The cartoon answer took some time for me to finally get but was glad I stuck with it. Didn’t need three guesses to know the song you would choose to go along with todays theme Angela. Great choice and loved your posts. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. LOL! Yes, one guess was enough! Tk you, and glad you stuck with it. Take care. 🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. PIRACY took a little effort. It took a while to get the answer. I stumbled around for a bit, but finally saw ESCAPE, which led to NOTICE.

    • Always a pleasure to hear from you, Miss Eleanor. God bless…🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. I too paused at piracy but saw escape right away which left notice. Perfect song choice. Happy Friday all. Stay cool. 🆒 Betty
