    • Good Morning, Everyone…🔠TO BE SEEN…AND NOT HEARD 🔠

🎶 And the vision that was planted in my brain…Still remains…Within the SOUND OF SILENCE…🎶…”The Sound of Silence” – Simon & Garfunkel (original recording) 1964 https://tinyurl.com/y84wpd6p

🔠 They’re nowhere near a SAUNA, and there’s no GLITZ to see,
No breeze to cause a BILLOW…they’re on paper as we see…
We just might hear a SERMON…seems the K is acting snide,
No fault should fall on letter “A”…he’s no reason to hide
The English language can be odd…but doesn’t pay to vent…
It’s what it is…and comes to “Speak”? Yes, the “A” WAS SILENT!🔠

As Sesame Street would say…Today’s puzzle…”Brought to you by the letter “A”…And as we can see, of our 5 anthropomorphic letters making up the word SPEAK…it’s only the forlorn looking “A” that’s NOT SPEAKING…In the word SPEAK, we don’t pronounce the letter “A”…So, our solve?…The…”A” WAS SILENT…And this puzzle was as easy as ABC…

Jeff’s 💎 Gems? I TELL you…the entire conversation is hilarious…while at the same time SPELLING out the truth. The S telling the P that he likes the “blend”…The SP sound is very common in our language…The P telling the E that he’s “crushing it”…the E sound is prominent…and could very well complete the word alone, without the A…and the K with the “cat got your tongue” remark?… https://tinyurl.com/bdha7wb9 …right on point!…Jeff’s SPELT it out to a T…well…maybe not a T…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of a childhood friend whose Mother always spoke about how much he loved Alphabet Soup…But he swore to us that he really didn’t …that she was just putting words in his mouth…🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

    • 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️It sounded like a SERMON when they touted the new SAUNA…supposedly all GLITZ and glam…and you could see a welcome flag BILLOW every few feet…but the committee dubbed “A” WAS SILENT about it all…🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♂️No GLITZ within the SERMON, though a BILLOW in his voice,
The Preacher slammed the SAUNA…making one feel sans a choice…
And some within the faithful felt the words just a tad violent…
A lot of murmuring was heard…but the row A WAS SILENT…🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️

    • 🤦🏻‍♀️English language…a lot of it strange,
      Letters easily can be exchanged…
There are sounds we don’t hear,
      But letters appear…
How much simpler if we rearranged…🤦🏻‍♀️

🔠 Case in point what we have here today,
      Spelling Speak…we don’t really need A…
      But it’s always been there,
      Truth be told…we don’t care…
But to spell Speak it’s def on display…🔠

🤷🏻‍♀️We have words spelt the same but don’t match,
Like a bat and a bat…what’s the catch?
      How did all this occur?
      Some words really can blur…
And it often can cause quite a stir…🤷🏻‍♀️

🤦🏻‍♂️So today letter A feels left out,
Which is why we see him with a pout…
      He’s not finding a place,
      Explains such a long face…
Just comes down to what spelling’s about…🤦🏻‍♂️

🔠 Way too late now to have things undone,
It’s been like this since our words begun…
So we just grin and bear…
      Saying…not “here”…nor “there”…
And both these words?…😉 Well, son of a gun! 🔠

  2. What a thirst quencher on this Thursday ! The anagrams were confusing with two of them ! I never knew the cousin of a Pillow , so I didn’t see BILLOW ! And I should’ve been on the mount cause I didn’t see or hear the SERMON ! Now the jumble letters were definitely not quiet ! I saw SILENT right away and that left A WAS , which solved it ! Great thirsty-Thursday jumble ! And your song Angela is another of my favorite bands and songs , “sound of silence”, and the alphabet soup , with words in his mouth ! Very funny and perfect , I’m using that one ! Bring on Friday ! I’m ready !!!!!!

  3. Good morning. Two days in a row I’ve been stuck on the last word and went to the cartoon and got the blind solve but this time knowing I needed SEN my simple brain couldn’t connect with the simple word sermon. I was concentrating on N being the last letter and never got passed that. Oh well, at least I listened to a very good song that Angela picked. So in view of that it’s time to silently bow out. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. You’re far from having a simple mind…And silently bow out, indeed! 😉 Take care…🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. It took me a moment or two to figure out the puzzle solution. I got “A WAS” right away, then spoke the word SPEAK and noticed the A was silent, and the blind solve followed. I, too, enjoyed your little alphabet soup joke and will try to pass along to the grandkids. Enjoy your Thirsty Thursday. Terry

  5. No problem with a clean sweep of the anagrams and obvious cartoon solution! Chuck.

  6. At this moment as I speak

In a language that’s quite unique

    With spelling often crazy

Not for spellers who are lazy

But it retains a certain mystique!

  7. Cute puzzle this morning. My very favorite Jumble offerings are the numbers and letters. Perfect song choice as well. Happy Thursday all!

    Betty

    • Tk you, Betty. I know you do! 😉I immediately think of you now whenever we have a puzzle of this kind! Have a good one! 🔠🙋🏻‍♀️
