    🎯The Archer was a surly sort, his manners needing GROWTH,
    His sarcasm towards these men…annoying to them both…
    He’s always preaching ‘bout himself, a SERMON at the quick,
    As if he’s so unbeatable…with his quiver of tricks…
    His PLANK has always been the same…that he could school all others,
    The others though would have him gone…if just allowed their druthers
    The club does have a QUOTA…yes that’s why they do relent…
    And keep him on despite the way he acts so “ARROW-GANT” …🎯

    The phrase…”Some call it a spear, some call it an arrow” keeps playing over and over in my head…So’s the phrase,”Self praise stinks”…something my Father (Buon Anima) drummed into our heads from an early age. Both have STUCK with me over the years…And oddly enough, they both fit our puzzle here today. A BULLSEYE…so to speak…

    So…Speaking of SLINGS and ARROWS… https://tinyurl.com/y8th5xcm Today…An Archery Range, and a man BILL ET, tooting his own SCORN…RUNning his mouth, bragging about his prowess, and always AIMING to make a POINT and FEATHER his own CROWN. Totally self-SERVING…And his two TARGETS today are a PAIR of archers who are in no way impressed, nor do they BOW down to his BARBS….and feel the need to take a BACKSEAT to him…To them, Bill is just way too ”ARROW-GANT”… https://tinyurl.com/5y88zba3

    The STRAIGHT and ARROW for today? The word CONCEITED and the tell-tale quotation MARKS gave this one up at FACE value…But if you didn’t get the solve STRAIGHTaway, once you gleaned ARROW from your letters, I’m sure you got the POINT!

    And as far as Jeff’s Gems go, I can’t go out on a LIMB with something I’m not familiar with…You know that I’m always on the LEVEL with you all, so I’ll just let you know what I see…The logo on Bill’s shirt is of crossed arrows… and two arrows symbolize partnership and teamwork…so…🤷🏻‍♀️… that’s an oddity…the 1st Place trophy is topped with an arrow hitting the bullseye, and the gentleman at right has a shirt logo that to me looks to depict a plunger 🪠 hitting the target. It has no feathers. And ironically or not, a Plunger is a pressure button or pressure plunger…a small mechanical device used in archery to help control the flights of arrows…So who knows…as I mentioned earlier, this Archery stuff is all UP IN THE AIR to me…But what definitely did HIT my funny bone? The dialogue…”Not making us QUIVER”..Gotta love it!

    So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe… And I would imagine that it’s very uncommon for two archers to ever have the same score…Everyone knows that BOW TIES went out of style years ago…🎯🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🙏🏻 The new Pastor at a small Church in Pittsburgh, hoping to see GROWTH within his congregation, set himself a QUOTA, and decided to try some humor with Sunday’s SERMON on James 4:6…so he drew up flyers depicting a pirate ship that read…”Don’t become ARROGANT enough to find yourself walking the PLANK”…

    🤷🏻‍♂️The numbers did look promising, the QUOTA now in sight,
    There was GROWTH o’er the last few months, that would help with his plight…
    He felt his prodding may have worked, his SERMON-like pep talks,
    His PLANK had always been to push…without seeming to squawk
    He’s hoping now to earn enough to cover the year’s rent…
    His spirits buoyed he’s trying hard to not get ARROGANT …🤷🏻‍♂️

  4. Hello Saturday and what a great way to cap the week off ! I had no problems with the anagrams ! They just keep helping my jumble GROWTH ! I still am able to keep my QUOTA going ! I don’t feel like I’m walking the PLANK ! Ok , I’m not preaching a SERMON ! I’m just happy ! The jumble shot me a bullseye with an ARROW and GANT for a conceded archer ! I got my point across ! Perfect song Angela ! And cute joke , and thats Bow Tie ! Everyone have a great weekend !!!!!

  5. I achieved a semi Blind Solve this morning, but just didn’t take the puzzle to the final stage. Upon a first look, knew ARROW or BOW had a place…didn’t think any further than that, started anagrams and then it hit me !! Great Archery info today and yes, knew about Geena Davis…so interesting. BOW TIES was the icing on the cake. Have a great Saturday.

  7. SERMON took a while to find. For the answer, finding ARROW led to ARROW-TANG, then ARROW-GNAT, and then ARROW-GANT. I kind of like ARROW-GNAT though.

  9. Saturday Jumble wipeout, w a failure to solve the sermon anagram, followed by a total wipeout on the cartoon w quotes that did not help! Not a good end of the week!
