Yesterday’s comments had me thinking that some of you…especially if choosing to solve the puzzle without doing the words first…may be missing the forest for the “tease”…I’d say probably 90% of the time, the answer is going to be a well-worn phrase or idiom, and if you think along that line, the solve should fall right into your lap. Yesterday, for example…RAISED THE BAR, Tuesday, AND SO FOURTH…commonly used idioms, and if you just take the time to absorb the question and the dialogue, you sometimes don’t even need the cartoon to DRAW you in…Like our surfers here today, it just takes a little patience…And when there’s those quotation marks in play, it just adds to the fun/pun….Anyway…if going for that automatic read just causes frustration, and it comes down to SINK or SWIM, why make WAVES…It’s not WORTH it…and it may be best to just heed what’s written above the answer circles of each puzzle…instead of going around in them…It might SUIT you better…Ok, enough of my STREAM of consciousness…I just thought it might be WELL WORTH IT to bring it up….

Thanks for your posting about blind solves. Personally, I don’t think it’s an “either/or” subject. I certainly don’t give up after seeing that I’m not going to get the blind solve today. I give it a try…then do the anagrams…then the cartoon puzzle. I will say that sometimes I need more than patience to keep afloat. If it doesn’t come in a minute or two…I’m off to the anagrams.
All that said, I got the SWELL today, but no further because I didn’t think of WELL in place of SWELL. So I spelled out SWELL THROW, and missed the WORTH IT idiom. But that’s what makes it so fun (I guess). Enjoy hummin’ the Beach Boys today. What great harmony !!

Hello Friday ! Well I wish I had a Wave of good solves to end the weekdays , but I’m afraid I don’t ! I got the anagrams ok , except the one had my mind in a TIRADE ! The jumble , not knowing the surfing lingo about a wave that’s Swells , had me falling off the surfboard! It was a fun one , It just didn’t splash ! Tks, Jim.. They always made beautiful music. “Swell” isn’t surfing lingo…it just has to do with the ocean itself. It’s the idiom that made the solve. But I have a question. You refer to Saturday as the day that “caps the week off”. If so, what do you consider the weekend to be? Just Sunday? Isn’t the weekEND 2 days? Just curious about the reasoning. And the names…there’s some sort of fluke with Word Press…hopefully it’ll be corrected…🏄🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️
Officially , the weekend starts Friday evening and ends Monday morning ! I just never acknowledged Sunday as part of it , that’s where I came up with Saturday to cap it off ! I’m sure it’s not official , that just my thing , so I’ll reword my comments as more fitting ! Thanks for the thoughts !

Good morning. Breezed through the words but spent a long time on the cartoon answer. I had Worth for the first word then switched to Swell Worth but couldn’t come up for the two letter word. Finally switched to the final answer of “swell” worth it. It took some doing but worth it. Like your song choice Angela. Until tomorrow take care.
