Good Morning, Everyone….🏋🏻♂️CARRYING HIS OWN WEIGHT🏋🏻♂️
Whether or not you know who Lasha Talakhadze https://tinyurl.com/42ccfad2 , the Georgian, Olympic Champion Weightlifter https://tinyurl.com/58psmmae is, isn’t germane to our obvious solve today…so we’ve no need to get all UP IN ARMS… https://tinyurl.com/45nf7frb …pun intended…
Our question gives us WEIGHTLIFTING and breaking a record = RAISING THE BAR, our cartoon shows him LIFTING = RAISING the BARbells…and our dialogue WEIGHS in again on him doing just that…He RAISED THE BAR… literally and figuratively… https://tinyurl.com/c2tc3vxc
..And the other contender, representing the Jumble? WEIGH out of his league…
So…There you have it Folks..Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…and here’s hoping today’s easy, breezy puzzle gives you a LIFT…🏋🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️

Heading toward the weekend , I was thirsty for an answer ! The anagrams were all there ! The jumble threw me off the beaten trail ! The first word I saw was Breathed , when I looked at Lashas mouth like he was taking a breath ! Well the rest of the letters left were ISAR , and I couldn’t find a home ! So thinking that I did get Breathed , I looked and it was RAISED THE BAR ! I was very disappointed in myself ! Oh well , I’ll have a cup of coffee and a sweet tea to get over this thirsty-Thursday! Everyone have a great day and bring it on Friday !!!!!
Breathed has 8 letters..The first word only called for 6…🤷🏻♀️
Yes , the consequences of doing it before midnight !

Another blind solve Thirsty Thursday. My initial thoughts were LIFTING something or other….then came THE BAR, but that didn’t sound quite right. And while LIFTING was germane to weight lifting, some other word was to “THE BAR”. So after a minute or two of cogitating, RAISING made more sense and I bagged another one. Anagrams followed for a successful puzzle day. Now…waiting for TGIF. See ya, Angela !!
Hmm…RaisING? That’s 7 letters…🤷🏻♀️
Yes…but it was the back and forth of LIFT vs. RAISE that brought me to fruition. Thanks for watching out for me !!

Good morning. This week has been pretty good for me. Not much problems today. I was stuck for awhile on the cartoon answer but then I too raised the bar and snatched a victory from defeat. Until tomorrow take care.
A quick solve of the anagrams and the 2,3 letter words in the cartoon solution, but the first word, ‘raised’ gave me reason to pause.
I first saw alias as asail but once I corrected that, everything fell into place nicely. I know nothing about weight lifting so am happy knowledge of the sport wasn’t necessary to solve the puzzle.
It’s close to the countries that end with “stan”
Whence comes many a very strong man
And there’s just no debate
They can lift heavy weights
And the medal list’s part of their plan.
And practice too they don’t shirk
They make it look e..a..s..y work
With muscles that bulge
Their strength they divulge
With a snatch, a lift and a jerk!
I haven’t managed to travel as far as Georgia and the Caucasus region. Just a bit of a challenge to get there.
