  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🗡️A KNIGHT TO REMEMBER 🗡️

🎶 Tell me that you want the kind of things that MONEY JUST CAN’T BUY…I don’t care too much for money…Money can’t buy me love…🎶 “Can’t Buy Me Love” – The Beatles 1964 https://tinyurl.com/b897n9yf

🗡️To some it’s all a RERUN, they’ve been there many times,
And each time they AMUSE themselves with dinner and some wine…
A lot of trees surround the place, perhaps some LICHEN lingers…
Upon them, but I’m sure no one will touch it with bare fingers…
Do these fairs play a USEFUL part…with Knights upon the prancers?
I guess they do, look at the crowd behind our two FREELANCERS…🗡️

Volunteers?…Spears?…This one just LEAPT right off the page….

So…Today, a KNIGHT out at a Renaissance Fair. https://tinyurl.com/2ertzpsj And we see one of the Knights being offered compensation, by a page, for putting on the show. But he refuses, stating that they “enjoy showing off their SPEARS” …Kind of an odd thing to say, no? Maybe, maybe not…because the “spears” are really LANCERS… https://tinyurl.com/yxxmdbp9 …So…we have VOLUNTEERS = FREE, displaying their LANCERS…And voila!…The men on horseback were…FREELANCERS …And with that, Folks, we can call it a KNIGHT…I mean day!

Jeff’s Gems…Note the King and Queen at left under the canopy…Ensuring that nothing REIGNS on their parade…And I’m not exactly sure we should put STOCK into it, https://tinyurl.com/57pw4zyb …but behind the page? Next to the lance near his FOOT? STOCKS? https://tinyurl.com/bp8pjutp It WOOD, I mean could be…

So…FAIR you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I got a little HORSE going BACK and forth bouncing some closing Renaissance humor off my S O…but when he couldn’t help me decide, saying none of them SLAYED him, I JOUST figured I’d turn the PAGE and go with what I feel is best…A friend of mine set up a booth at a Renaissance Fair where people could dress up as Frodo, his favorite character from The Lord of the Rings. He called it his Frodo Booth. He’s been trying really hard to get the Fair reenactors to change the way they run things…but they seem DEAD set against giving him a FREE hand…So far it’s just been an exercise in FEUDALITY…🗡️🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🙇🏻‍♂️Suffering from a RERUN bout of oral LICHEN, he knew he’d find it hard to AMUSE the group of FREELANCERS…knowing he’d hardly be USEFUL…🙇🏻‍♂️

🦠The project, study LICHEN, so to the woods they went,
Though USEFUL in some certain ways, it’s look not Heaven sent…
Nothing about it did AMUSE, it was just like the first,
Time that they all had gathered here…though this time might be worse…
Why a RERUN of this project?…She wished she had the answers…
She thinks she’ll pass on all of it…and just join the FREELANCERS…🦠

  3. Wow ! This one was a tough one ! First time ever since I’ve been doing the jumbles , have I ever not been able to get almost all the anagrams ! I’m so confused ! The only anagram that was USEFUL , was that ! Wow ! I would never want to RERUN this again , and it didn’t AMUSE me ! And I didn’t even know what LICHEN is ! I’m sorry , I’ll stop ! Oh well , the jumble , I got FREE but had trouble with LANCERS ! Your song Angela , made it all better as one of my favorite bands ! Todays jumble left me in medieval times ! Can’t wait till tomorrow ! My brain needs to rest ! Everyone have a great Friday !

    • Me too, my worst Jumble ever. I was totally stumped by the anagrams rerun and lichen, first time I’ve been stumped by 2 anagrams. Then not having noticed the ‘spears’ hint in the cartoon, I was also stumped by the multi lettered cartoon! Whew not a good start to the day!

  4. I have nothing more to add to Jim’s comments. The anagrams were very tough and the puzzle cryptic as well. Will have to admit I didn’t see FREE, which should have been a help to me. I hope Wordle and X-words go better than today’s Jumble for me. And yes…a great song choice !!

  5. Jim was right. I was able to get it all, but it was hard. LICHEN and AMUSE took effort, and RERUN first looked like unerr. I found FREE in the answer, but LANCERS took some time.

    • The key was the Knight mentioning Spears…His entire statement was such an odd choice of word/s…it just seemed so unnecessary…but it led to LANCERS…🗡️🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Good morning. The only good thing about today’s jumble is that at least I’m not in the Minority. From early reports we all had difficulty. I had to look up Lichen and also to find out what it was. Then I was also stumped on the cartoon answer. This has been a tough week. Let’s hope tomorrow brings anew. Until then, take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. I’m definitely not LICHEN today’s results! I really thought the clues would offer up a FREE pass! 😉Have a good one, Paul…🗡️🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Earliest reference as far as we know, to freelance, can be found in Walter Scott’s Ivanhoe, a great read. I recommend it.

  8. If you were looking to hire a lance
Than you left nothing up to chance
    You paid for the best
    Ignored all the rest
Chance of a victory they sure would enhance!

Of course it was all about finance
‘Cos they sometimes asked for an advance
If the king was near broke
On the price he would choke
Oh those heady days of romance!

But freelancers were worth the advance
Be the battle in England or France
    Advancing’s what they did
Even in mud where they slid
With their presence they made a great stance!

    • 🤷🏻‍♀️You speak money yet here there was none,
So I question the tale that you’ve spun…
These Knights took it in stride,
That for free they would ride…
Whether or not it was one and done!🤷🏻‍♀️

🤴🏻Wouldn’t matter if the King was broke,
      ‘Cause there’s hardly a chance he’d be soaked…
      Nothing done on the cuff,
      So things couldn’t get rough…
And for sure the King’s ego was stroked! 🤴🏻

🤷🏻‍♂️The obsession with boasting these spears,
Does seem to come across rather queer…
Each to his own for sure,
      But the page was assured…
That no money would transpire here! 🤷🏻‍♂️

❌So finance doesn’t come into play,
Maybe it might on another day…
      But for this puzzle’s plot,
What you see what’s you got…
Volunteers putting on free display! ❌

🗡️Bottom line, at this Renaissance Fair,
It was Lancers the cherished hardware…
      So the Knights…they worked gratis,
Which I’m sure raised their status…
And it proved to be quite the affair! 🗡️

      😉🙋🏻‍♀️

      • But the horses they were on were ready to Rumble , cause they knew it would be a tough Jumble ! 😄

        • 🐎 But they do possess horse sense,
So I doubt that they were dense…
Sure they got it with nary a stumble!🐎

  9. Got the anagrams this morning but was totally stumped by the cartoon answer even though I kept reading the dialogue and knew the clue had to be that they were working without pay – just didn’t see free or make the connection with spears and lancers. Really good puzzle. Happy Friday all!
