  1. Good Morning, Everyone ….🏆🏀A SHOOTING STAR! 🏀🏆

🎶 I never thought that it could be…a love like yours would come to me…YOU GOT THE POWER…and it just won’t stop….YOU’RE THE CREAM OF THE CROP…🎶 “You’re The Cream of The Crop” – Lee Rogers 1965 https://tinyurl.com/58d4cx8n

🏆🏀The former Lew Alcindor proved his prowess on the court,
He earned a place in History with Basketball his sport…
The word FLECK don’t apply to him, he definitely was PRIME,
And racked up many accolades during his playing time…
Opponents turned to POWDER, he crushed them in his path,
And more than once we watched as he created a bloodbath…
(So now I’m facing CANOLA…which doesn’t fit the scene,
Although like oil, Kareem was slick…if you know what I mean)…
The bottom line, down to brass tacks, if GOAT you’re gonna drop…
There’s many who give him the crown…he’s “KAREEM” OF THE CROP!🏀🏆

So…A timely puzzle…But with the NBA season DRAWING to a close. the Lakers, unfortunately, were eliminated earlier this week…but we’re still OPEN to a good GAME here…

Ok… Now this, today, is a clever pun. And I laughed out loud…even though it’s not the first time I’m hearing it. In fact, back in the day when Kareem had the FLOOR, and was CENTER stage, wearing the crown and holding COURT, we referred to him by this exact name all the time…but it still made me laugh…So was Abdul-Jabbar the NBA’s best…with his 6 MVPs? Some say yes, some call FOUL…But one thing’s for sure…he was definitely the “KAREEM” OF THE CROP! https://tinyurl.com/mr3uuzb5

And I doubt there’s anyone out there who, if not familiar with the man himself, and/or his stats, doesn’t at least recognize the name…KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR… https://tinyurl.com/2p8ppmvh So I’m thinking the simple fact that David so blatantly left his first name out of our question, while mentioning the “six time MVP”, HOOKed up with the reporter singing his praises, and those tell-tale quotation marks? Enough of an ASSIST was given here today…And we easily CLEARed this one OUT in no TIME…giving ourselves a SLAM DUNK of a solve..David TOSSed us an easy one, Folks, and definitely CUT us a break…so we’d see clear to DRIVE this one HOME…Yep, a real FREE THROW…

…And as far as Kareem’s dialogue goes? I’m not here to judge,.. and I mean no OFFENSE, but it’s no secret that he kept most people at ARM’s LENGTH…no pun intended…So…?? …I’ll think I’ll just take a PASS…

So…There you have it, Folks…we’ve come to the END LINES…Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And here’s a little Kareem humor as we go TRAVELING FORWARD today…What do you get when you cryogenically freeze a genetic copy of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?…An ICE KAREEM CLONE…Ok, ok…I’m WALKING..🏆🏀🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤷🏻‍♀️Looking to hire only the CREAM OF THE CROP, (those without a FLECK of baggage), to work on the new CANOLA campaign, they were forced to tell a lot of the applicants to take a POWDER…in order to develop a PRIME group…🤷🏻‍♀️

🤦🏻‍♀️The POWDER had a tinge to it, a FLECK seen here and there,
‘Tween that and the CANOLA oil, they based profits all year…
They couldn’t go with this here batch… the powder bit the dust,
Priding themselves on PRIME products, right now it’s all a bust
They’ll have to start all over, ‘cause they’re faced now with this flop…
And never have they tried to sell less than CREAM OF THE CROP! 🤦🏻‍♀️

  3. Great jumble today ! The anagrams made me put on a little extra thinking cap , but I came through and was very pleased ! The jumble couldn’t get get much funner ! Everyone has had to have heard of Kareem Abdul-Jabbor , so KAREEM OF THE CROP ! Was right there ! Easy thirsty-Thursday jumble ! So far , I’m undefeated on every jumble this week , hoping I have another week like last week and go undefeated Monday thru Friday ! Great jumble week ! Cute , punny joke Angela ! But where were you walking ? To Jabbor ? Everyone have a great thirsty-Thursday !!!!!!

  4. Good morning. No problem with the words but failed on the clever cartoon answer. It was right there for an easy solve but I missed it. Nothing to do but wait for tomorrow to change it around. Until then, take care.

  5. Canola got me but after looking that up and sorting through the letters and knowing full well the accomplishments of Kareem I was able to decipher the solution!

  6. Had to put on my thinking 🧢 cap to solve the cartoon answer but the anagrams were no problem. Happy Thursday all!

    • Steve…But the word “Leaper” wouldn’t need to be in quotes…And the phrase Leaper of the pack has no witty play on words connected to it, the way that the idiom CREAM of the crop does, despite Leader of the pack being a phrase. Plus, besides there being no “L” …you’d need 2 “P”s…2 “A”s, you’d be left with an extra “R”, and “O”, and where would the “M” come into play? Hats off to David, Steve…It’s not as easy as he makes it look! 🏀🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Surprised no one was able to include Kareem’s famous skyhook in their poems. He left Opponents at his foot while he dazzled them with his skyhook.

    • There is no “their”, it’s only me. There are no “poems”, there’s just the one…
Not able? I would think that if one were to take the whole body of work into consideration, one would see that I emphasized the word “HOOK”, made note that he “crushed them in his path”, (besides using the word “bloodbath”), stated that he “racked up many accolades”, noted the reporter “singing his praises”, and also included his Wikipedia bio which has a sidebar of the “words and the music” of him displaying his hook shot over Wes Unseld, and an entire 2 paragraphs are devoted to it. Plus Jeff’s depicted him, arm extended, in the backdrop of the panel…So, not intentionally meaning to juggle sports, I’d say the bases are covered pretty well….The rest is up to the reader…🏀🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Late start to replying to Angela’s delightful blog….I printed it out early and took with me to golf course. Definitely saw the obvious Kareem, but was in a hurry so didn’t proceed. Called Marsha and she filled me in. Smacked my forehead, of course. Was trying to post my news but couldn’t get a signal in the river bottoms. You made for some nice jokes today, Angela…and BTW, no mention of his co-starring role in Airplane ??After golf, this is a real Thirsty Thursday !!
