  1. Good Morning, Everyone 💈SHEAR YE…SHEAR YE!💈

‘🎶 Hey kid, come on down…They might turn your head around…With good lovingmore or less…Who you trying to impress…🎶 “A Cut Above the Rest” – Bananarama 1986 https://tinyurl.com/2p8p6cae

💈The store was VACANT for a while, economy not great,
The LOCALE good, but just the same, rent is a heavy weight…
This barber, (once an URCHIN), had turned his life around,
And found it in his BUDGET to rent on this side of town…
He had a knack for FUSION cuts…blending the old and new,
This place to him UTOPIA…he’d show what he could do
And soon his skills became well known…they said he was the best…
Word on the street was this Barber?…A CUT ABOVE THE REST! 💈

Ok…Utopia and Urchin…caUse U to paUse? I think it’s the U starting off the word…U be the jUdge…(Rare to see two U words in the same pUzzle too)…

So…A city street…anywhere USA…And a corner building housing a Barbershop atop a Mattress Store…The Barber CUTS, and the mattresses offer REST….And our spot-on dialogue is telling us that the young guy sporting the Afro considers the Barber, “up there” = ABOVE…to be “the best”…= better than THE REST…And there’s no splitting HAIRS with this one, Folks…COMB on…let’s be honest..It’s SHEAR perfection….To our guy with the great ‘do? The Barber was …A CUT ABOVE THE RESThttps://tinyurl.com/c86u3s2f …”Next”…???

…In the Barber’s hands…a comb, left, and clippers, right…And downstairs, the Mattress King is seen in the window, looking very AIRfree, sitting on one of his wares. And while we can read “Shave” and the beginnings of “Shampoo” on the Barbershop window, the title of the Mattress Store is “Sleep Tight”. Cute…When you’d get your receipt, it’d be FITting to see that on a SHEET of paper…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe.. And word was that when this Barbershop finally opened, after the long wait, there was a huge crowd of people jostling for position to get in…They really could have used a HAIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER…💈🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🎥 The LOCALE for the low-BUDGET movie, titled UTOPIA FUSION, about an URCHIN living in a car in a VACANT lot, was considered A CUT ABOVE THE REST…🎥

🔠 The Spelling test would prove to be a challenge that’s for sure,
UTOPIA and URCHIN and FUSION…words du jour…
She watched her son, a VACANT stare seemed plastered on his face,
She questioned him on LOCALE…and she watched as he erased
It’s only BUDGET he has right….and so she fears this test…
Might prove her son will never rank A CUT ABOVE THE REST…🔠

  4. 👬🏻There’s a bond that most people will form,
    With a Barber…that becomes the norm…
    You’re happy with your cut,
So no if ands or buts…
And a friendship develops quite warm…👬🏻

🫰🏻This guy set up his shop…fingers crossed,
And he offered cuts at a fair cost…
Word of mouth then took hold,
    Clientele came tenfold…
And his expertise proved him the boss!🫰🏻

💈 Long time had passed before the shop’s dawn,
And men needing a cut grew forlorn…
    Though some skeptics at first,
    Who’d been fearing the worst…
Soon had all of their doubts def withdrawn! 💈

✂️Now our Barber is ruling the roost,
Giving the neighborhood quite the boost…
    Accolades left and right,
    He picked the perfect site…
And great cuts he does daily produce!✂️

👍🏻 Bottom line, business is a success,
And no longer do the men obsess…
    Over who’ll cut their hair,
They line up for his chair…
And it’s grooming now sans any stress!👍🏻

  5. Wow ! Good morning Sunday Funday ! For a Sunday jumble , this one was definitely A CUT ABOVE THE REST ! I mean it was above the mattress store , where the barber Cuts hair and the mattress, where you Rest ! I loved it ! Even the anagrams were there ! I did have some trouble with UTOPIA and URCHIN , and Angela U were right about them ! But for a Sunday , it was one of the best ! Everyone have a great Sunday Funday !!!!!!

  6. With DST to contend with, I slept a little longer. I asked Marsha about the Jumble and she thought I had completed it…so blurted out the answer. Anyway, I started unscrambling and had to pause a little, here and there, but managed all six without too much difficulty. Have a great Sunday !!

  7. I paused on utopia and urchin, too many U’s but utopia popped into mind quickly followed by urchin. Then the clues for the cartoon led to a quick blind solve even with the multitude of letters which usually stump me on Sundays. And even with the time change, I still prevailed!

  8. Like others I paused at urchin but once I figured out that one the cartoon answer was a given. Clever puzzle this morning. Have a good day all!

  9. Good afternoon now. I don’t think I ever spent so much time on jumble. I looked at these words for hours and played around with the letters. I finally was able to get all the words but Utopia. I couldn’t remember that from before. The cartoon answer was a lot simpler, after looking at the letters the lighting bolt struck and the answer appeared. This was a real challenge. Until tomorrow stay well and be safe.

  10. I wonder if anyone else got hung up with “unrich” for the last word ? I was not confident about it, but Google implied it was OK. Then I quickly found a good surprise answer that would not work because “unrich” did not give me the “C” I needed for “cut” so I had to go back to “unrich” and finally found “urchin”. I still have to say it was a very good and fun puzzle.

    • I don’t think so, Ray. While UNRICH may seem correct, it’s really not a word you tend to hear in conversation. I know I never have….”He’s unrich”? “The cake is unrich”? The acceptable wording would be “not rich”. In fact, Word Press is giving me grief…flagging the word out as being incorrect. Plus, David only uses words that are listed in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and as you can see, UNRICH isn’t. But it is always interesting to play around with the letters…I’m glad you struck it rich (pun intended) by getting URCHIN though…and yes, I agree…it’s definitely a fun puzzle. Enjoy your day, Ray! 💈🙋🏻‍♀️
