    For POLICY dictates that Super Bowl is for the best…
    (THRIFT on the sidelines will remain, and MODULE the same,
    I’m SAYING there’s no way that they play out in this here game)…
    But what we have here are two teams…and who goes ONWARD more,

    Before we even begin, hats off to Jeff. Considering that these puzzles are submitted at least six weeks in ADVANCE, kudos to him for going with the Eagles to be in today’s Super Bowl. And if it comes down to the wire today, and they’re ahead 34 to 30? …I’m definitely going to ask him to RUN through my numbers for the next PICK SIX GAME…

    Today’s words? All old favorites, but definitely great SCRAMBLES…

    So…With today NACHO usual Football Sunday, we’ve a very apropos puzzle. We’re at the Super Bowl and on the field with the clock RUNNING out. And for those of us familiar with Football and its terms, there’ll be no trouble PASSING this test…we have it DOWN PAT. For any others…I doubt you’ll be SACKED, as long as you study the clues…The scoreboard reads 34-30…The dialogue’s giving us …”only have time for one play”, “RUN it in”, “we better HURRY”, and our question wraps it up with the mention of TIME again, and OFFENSE…If the Jumblers are to have a chance, they have to SCORE…And in Football, RUSHING is an action taken by the offense that means to advance the ball by RUNNING with it, as opposed to passing, or kicking. Bottom LINE? The offense was RUSHING TO SCORE…And SNAP!…We’ve another solve in our POCKETs!

    As for Jeff’s Gems?…There’s isn’t a #99 on the Eagle’s roster. The number was retired years ago, after a player, Jerome Brown, https://tinyurl.com/3685h3ea #99 was killed in an automobile accident at the age of 27. In his memory, the team retired the number. Nice Shout-Out, Jeff. And I think that’s a 71 at back, but there’s also no such number in this season’s roster. As for the opponents, the Jumblers, Jeff pays homage to the Jumble with the jerseys reading 19 and 54, the year the puzzle KICKed OFF…and 69 at BACK, the age of the Jumble today. And if you look real closely, you can see a bead of sweat on the RUNNING back’s face… And once again, kudos to Jeff for his spot-on Eagle prediction…

  3. 📚The SAYING was that the POLICY after a HIATUS was to go ONWARD with a sense of THRIFT, so despite his thoughts of RUSHING TO SCORE with the School Board, he decided he might be better served by enrolling in a MODULE…📚

    🤷🏻‍♂️He read through the whole POLICY, proceeded with great care,
    He’d been on a HIATUS…and his head’s SAYING beware…
    The MODULE was new to him, and THRIFT was on his mind,
    So going ONWARD he need be not hasty with his find…
    Results important, yes of course, but important much more…
    Was dotting I’s and crossing T’s…not just RUSHING TO SCORE! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  4. Ahhh, sports rivalries. You folks up in the northeast will be pulling for Philly, for sure. As I grew up in K.C, my heart always will belong with the Chiefs, so sorry no mention was made today. No clue to the puzzle answer but did think it was an ING word. That helped. Unscrambling anagrams was fairly easy, took out the ING….saw SCORE and finished up. Another great tuneful song from the 50’s…Excellent choice.

  6. Good morning. Not one to watch much football, the cartoon answer although there for the taking just passed me bye. Another solid hit on the song choice Angela.   7. Perfect puzzle for today. Not a huge sports fan but was able to figure out the answer anyway. Great Super Bowl joke, Angela. I think it’s fun that two brothers are playing on opposite teams. I read that the brother from Philadelphia’s wife is 38 weeks pregnant and bringing her obstetrician to the game – hope she doesn’t eclipse the half time entertainment. Happy Super Sunday all!

    • 😂😂Tks, Betty. When the news of Jason’s wife bringing her OB to the game first broke, it was taken as a joke. But she wasn’t joking! Now, as of Thursday, she’s bringing 2 of them! Fingers crossed they won’t be needed…Kylie definitely doesn’t need all that craziness…plus forget what it’ll do to the tempo of the game…And then there’s Jason and Travis’s Mom…talk about pressure! Definitely an unprecedented Super Bowl! Wishing you a happy day too, Betty! 🏈🙋🏻‍♀️
