So…”Honey Pie”? (With poetic license)….Mary Hostetter, who in 1983 started baking for local venues in the St Louis area. And before she knew it, she was rolling in DOUGH…
Ok…Behind the scenes at the “Blue Owl Bakery” http://theblueowl.com/ in historic Kimmswick, MO, circa 1984-5. And Mary has truly been ins-PIE-ered…She’s WHIPPED up four amazing desserts, and her employee is definitely sMITTen…FILLED with joy…Love at first BITE..I mean sight. And it’s his dialogue that should have WHISKED you off your feet…”I’ve never seen anything like these before”….And who wouldn’t be impressed…The Blue Owl’s World Famous “Levee High Apple Pie”, a lemon meringue, what I think to be one of their Pecan pies, and an octopus pie…Mary’s surely proven she can be CRUSTed in a kitchen! Confident, innovative…she definitely fit the å la MOLD of what pie lovers had been looking for. She’s a “PIE-ONEER”!

🤦🏻♀️When the GOSSIP regarding the PIONEER program CREPT into play, there was a PLUNGE in morale…and a serious effect on the group’s work ETHIC…🤦🏻♀️
🙇🏻Their ETHIC and their habits, had always kept them strong,
No drama CREPT into their lives…they lived by right and wrong…
So when the GOSSIP started, no one would take the PLUNGE,
And quickly they made sure the source would definitely be expunged
‘Twas sad though the result of it, they were surprised to hear…
The person guilty of the smear? Their trusted PIONEER…🙇🏻
👩🏻🍳So it’s baking Mary loves to do,
And she comes up with ideas anew…
Thinking outside the box,
Beat the school of hard knocks…
And now customers are in a queue! 👩🏻🍳
🍎Has an apple pie that stands so tall,
It’s been deemed to be best of them all…
Mary bakes it with care,
And so well does it fare…
With a taste that forever enthralls! 🍎

Having orders she’d hardly get through…
So expansion a must,
With her pies and their crusts…

Hello Monday , new week ! I love starting out to a typical fun and entertaining Monday ! The anagrams were a PLUNGE of success ! Not one CREPT up on me ! And no matter what GOSSIP you hear , todays jumble was it’s own good ETHIC! The letters really made me study them , but there was only 8 of them and I was not going to give up ! Once I saw Pie and then more E’s and one R , PIE-ONEER discovered me ! Love Monday jumbles ! Makes me want to satisfy my sweet-tooth with a pastry ! And loved the song choice ! Never go wrong with the Fab Four ! Everyone have a great start of the week Monday !!!!!

I’ll give myself just a wee bit of credit for discovering today’s theme…”PIE”, but I didn’t hit it home with that information. Tackled anagrams, only pausing for a second or two over ETHIC….yes, when you can’t unscramble, try starting with a vowel !!
Don’t think I have heard that song before, but the best part of it was the 1930’s arrangement. Yep, coulda been sung in some dark speakeasy way back when. And Angela’s history lesson was spot on, especially for a Missourian (K.C – go Chiefs) like me. Until the Taco Day tomorrow….be well
