  1. GOURD Morning, Everyone…👢DRESSED TO THE SHINES! 👢

🎶 And if they STARE just let them burn their eyes on you MOVING…And if they SHOUT don’t let it change a thing that you’re doing… Hold your HEAD UP, oh…Hold your HEAD UP, oh…Hold your HEAD HIGH…🎶 “Hold Your Head Up” – Argent 1972 https://tinyurl.com/4rz458u7

🎃The Sleepy Hollow School is something close to David’s heart,
In case you’re unaware, today the knowledge of it starts…
With David’s THEME always the words, he’s worked with children there,
But I’ll transition SMOOTH-like and get back to what is here…
The Headless Horseman, no stranger to Jumble puzzles…no,
Like MADDER goes with wet hens…it’s common enough to show…
We’ve seen him out there riding, in the FOYER he once stood,
To Jumble fans, come Halloween…well it’s just understood…
Today though there’s an added twist…but what a clue it shows…
Those boots we see? Our guy’s complete…He’s dressed FROM HEAD TO TOE! 🎃

So…Halloween…and to any DIE hard Jumble fan, when it comes to the “Headless Horseman”… https://tinyurl.com/mr2cce8j we’ve BEAN there, done that…but for those of you who are still CUTTING your teeth on our puzzles? HEADs up…you’re going to GROW to love our PUMPKIN-headed man of the HORSEpower…I mean hour…

As I mentioned in my rhyme, the HEADless Horseman is no STRANGEr to the Jumble. He’s BEAN RIDDEN into our puzzles many times before, as has Sleepy Hollow. And for those of you who may not be aWEAR, Sleepy Hollow is a real village, located in upstate New York’s Hudson Valley. https://tinyurl.com/35ep8vrh …And it’s no stranger to the Jumble either. David, our illustrious man of a thousand words, and his lovely bride Claire, founded an organization years ago, the David L Hoyt Education Foundation https://tinyurl.com/52ymnhnd whose mission it is to meld learning with fun…definitely a GOURD thing! And a favorite place for David to share his passion for fun-filled learning is the Sleepy Hollow Middle School, https://tinyurl.com/jjf48rkk which can be seen in the background of today’s cartoon. And that Mr Dietz sharing stage with our well-RIDDEN-about Horseman today? None other than present-day Kirk Dietz, https://tinyurl.com/4ky34u5x the school’s 6th Grade English Teacher! Don’t you just love when Jeff manages to have all these pieces come together? An ardent Jumble fan, Mr Dietz shares David’s love of words and learning, and they’ve more than once collaborated on play-based games. Here’s something they worked on back in 2019… https://tinyurl.com/392e78v7 …(And if you download David’s amazing app, Word Search World Traveler, https://tinyurl.com/564x4r62 , just one of his many games, you’ll LEARN something new every day)…

Anyway…I may have diDRESSED…I mean digressed…I apologize for RIDING off like that…I may have lost my HEAD there for a moment…Today’s solve? Note how the word HEADless is purposely omitted from the puzzle? Note Mr Dietz asking about the Horseman’s shiny (as seen by Jeff’s sparkly emanations) new BOOTS? Note the Horseman saying they COMPLETE the look? Note the twist I mentioned earlier? …This year, for Halloween, our Horseman’s dressed…FROM HEAD TO TOE! https://tinyurl.com/bdyhe2aa

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe out there with your Trick or Treating…enjoy your Halloween…and I’ll leave you with a little smile…Why is the Headless Horseman always running late? Because once he gets stuck in traffic…he can never get aHEAD…🎤🎃🙋🏻‍♀️

    I STAND WITH UKRAINE 💔🇺🇦

  3. 🎩 With the THEME of the Halloween party being “Adventures in Wonderland”, he upped his game a notch and dressed FROM HEAD TO TOE as the MADDER Hatter…and stood looking at himself in the FOYER mirror…smiling at how SMOOTH he looked…🎩

🤦🏻‍♂️Could he be any MADDER, that nothing’s going SMOOTH,
Not only is the FOYER wet…the plumbers are so rude…
Their THEME must be to aggravate the homeowner today,
But he needs them to buckle down…and ditch all this horseplay😉
    The broken pipe…a huge problem…as if they didn’t know…
They’re looking at him and can see he’s soaked FROM HEAD TO TOE! 🤦🏻‍♂️

  4. 🏇🏼He was madder than madder could be,
When he lost his way and couldn’t see…
In the blink of an eye,
On that horse way up high…
    One bad turn…now he’s off on a spree…🏇🏼

🧨It ‘twas cannon fire did Horseman in,
Causing him now to carry his grin…
    And he’s really a ghost,
    Who enjoys playing host…
To the townsfolk while out for a spin! 🧨

    🎃People sometimes think Ichabod Crane,
The persona of the Horseman’s fame…
    It’s a common mistake,
But Crane thin as a rake?
Could never live up to the name! 🎃

😱 Halloween comes around and there’s talk,
That it’s not wise to go for a walk…
    When the sun sets…beware…
    HH may be out there…
And it’s you who he may choose to stalk! 😱

📕Sleepy Hollow the scene of the crime,
Story’s been told for the longest time…
And one might lose their head,
    Reading it before bed…
And with that thought I’m ending my rhymes! 📕

  5. Happy Halloween ! This was a treat and not a trick ! The anagrams were pretty SMOOTH ! I could’ve got them in the FOYER and it wouldn’t have made me MADDER , but the THEME of the legend of sleepy hollow and the headless horseman kind of made me think , that how could he be dressed for Halloween FROM HEAD TO TOE , when he doesn’t have a head ? But it was a gimme because there’s nothing else it could’ve been ! I guess the horseman had wishful thinking and was just trying to get a-head ! As usual , I had fun to start the week Monday ! So everybody get your treats so there’s no tricks ! Have a happy Halloween 🎃 !!!!!

  6. Always nice to start out a Monday with a 30 second solve…..a blind solve and anagrams to boot. Such interesting tales you have woven, Angela, about that Sleepy Hollow School….sounds like fun learning. And at that age, for me the legend of Sleepy Hollow was one of my favorite Classics Illustrated. And your song harkens back to a musical time where psychedelics started playing a major role in concerts (the light scheme on stage). Thanks for an interesting morning !!

  7. Good morning. I was able to get all the words but failed to see the clue on the cartoon picture and looked up the answer. This one I should have gotten. Loved your post Angela. I’d say you go the the head of the class on all you do until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • LOL! Good Morning, Paul. Tk you! Enjoy your day and stay safe out there…🎃🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. An easy Monday morning….short 30″ workout with a blind solve and easy anagrams. Angela, you really are a gem for posting all the interesting facts about Sleepy Hollow and that wonderful 6th grade class. Such fun learning. In fact, Legends of Sleepy Hollow was one of my favorite Classics Illustrated way back when. The early 70’s is when music started to get a bit psychedelic what not with pulsating lights…and singers who needed to wear sunglasses because of it !! Everyone enjoy their Monday

    • Thank you again, Terry, you’re a Gem for saying! And yes, it is all an interesting tale! 🎃🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Tried posting a couple of times….seemingly without success. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed Legend of Sleepy Hollow in Classic’s illustrated way back when.

    • Hi Terry..After reading this, I checked for you and found your two posts in the Spam folder. I have no idea why they went there…🤷🏻‍♀️

        • YVW, Terry. We have no idea why it happens, it’s a Word Press glitch…I’m having an issue of my own with them right now also, and it’s very frustrating. If it happens again, just do what you did today…Give me the heads up, and I’ll search the Span folders for you. And thank you for the like…it’s definitely appreciated. Take care…🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Too many letters for me to get the obvious cartoon Halloween answer,
    Angela:
Have you‘ve been seeing my comments?
I’m feeling neglected with the absence of your replies.
    Go Astros!

  11. Perfect Halloween themed puzzle this morning. Headless Horseman is looking very dapper indeed. I remember being captivated the first time we read “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” in class. Wishing you all lots of treats and no tricks today. 🎃

  12. Is there any way I can get a hard copy of the Headless Horseman Jumble cartoon?

    • Hi Stan…The only way I know to acquire a hard copy is through a newspaper. I get mine each day from my NY Daily News. It’s printed in many national papers, the Chicago Trib being another. You can contact either of these, or any other paper of your choice, and inquire about buying yesterday’s edition. I’m not sure if they sell single copies, but it’s worth a shot. I hope this helps. Have a good night. 🙋🏻‍♀️
