    One needed to be familiar with the movie “Field of Dreams”, https://tinyurl.com/yjpjn9yv showcased in today’s puzzle, in order to get and truly appreciate today’s solve. But even if one wasn’t, David provided enough information in his question to make it easily attainable. Gotta love Google!

    Dateline: Iowa…And four frightening, beLEAGUEred Baseball Zombies emerging from a corn FIELD…evoking SCREAMS from the two bystanders…If this were so, the movie could have definitely been called…FIELD OF “SCREAMS”….And…Cut…print…that’s a wrap!

    The Gems…Zombie #1…If you look real closely, he has a baseball glove on his right hand, and there’s an O and an X printed inside the letter S on his cap…plus he’s shoeless! Shoeless Joe Jackson and the infamous Chicago White Sox? #2…he’s wearing a Red Sox jersey and cleats…and #3…wears a Yankee cap and jersey, and is holding a split bat. The fourth player, crawling? Shutout…There’s a ball lying on the ground at left, the cowhide torn…And if you look real, real closely at the bat in Costner’s hand, it reads..,JUMBLEVILLE..not to be confused with a Louisville Slugger…And the reference to Heaven? ..A home run!

    So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe….and Costner, wearing a catcher’s chest protector, emblazoned with a skull, getting ready to slug the zombies, is a great PITCH! Jeff definitely HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK with this one! ⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Laptop or cellphone, my online newspaper was having troubles so finally tried using the Seattle Times. Accomplished this poorly on cellphone….but enough of this drivel; I had had enough hardships that I just went over to Angela’s post to check her excellent musings on the zombies…..and ssooo very interesting it was !!!   4. Good morning Sunday Funday ! Had to to run through this quick , cause I’m going to a costume party tomorrow and I have to figure out what I’m going to be ! So I whipped through todays and didn’t do too bad ! Had a cost with INCOME and that affected my STYLUS ! The rest were there for me ! And I did what Angela always recommends so I googled Costner and the the movie came up FIeld of Dreams ! That and them coming out of the cornfield screaming did it for the FIELD OF SCREAMS ! Everyone enjoy the day today !

  6. Got the anagrams but not the cartoon though field was an obvious first word solution that escaped me even though I’m a big fan of the movie and Kevin Costner. Nice win for the Astros last night, go Houston!

  7. Good morning. Todays entire jumble was extra hard for me today but, I stuck with it and came out happy I did. Stylus was my last word to finally get. I was stuck on the cartoon answer because I was thinking of Bull Durham not Field of Dreams. But then it finally clicked when I realized they were coming out of the corn field. Once that happened the answer followed with ease. A real sense of satisfaction that I didn’t give up. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
