    👨🏻‍✈️The pandemic was lifting and people looked to FLOCK,
    Away from home and venture out…but pilots on the clock?
    They’ve been on WATCH for so long, and this they can AFFIRM,
    The long hours don’t really fit into their contract’s terms…
    They need to INVOKE higher ups…not deal with just a clerk…
    They’re tired and the time’s way past that they should TAKE OFF WORK! 👨🏻‍✈️

    We’ve read the news, we’ve seen the TV coverage…and ironically, I just so happened to read this article last month… https://tinyurl.com/ycy5khst I didn’t CARRY ON, but it did kind of add to my emotional BAGGAGE…

    So…again today we’re FLYING high with not only a timely and very relevant puzzle, but one that pretty much spells it all out for us…Planes TAKE OFF…as this one’s about to, along with the others seen OFF in the distance…Talk of the need for a vacation? = OFF WORK…And our two overWORKed pilots after putting in a SKY HIGH amount of hours?     Lastly, I searched for a Gem…and all I could come up with was the pilot’s wristwatch, or maybe it’s a Fitbit. Either way, no “jewels”…but the image looks somewhat like a blimp….I always felt I might like to own a blimp..but that dream has now FLOWN the coop. Today it’s just way too ABOVE my head..you know due to INFLATION and all…

    So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe….And for someone like me who does battle with vertigo and acrophobia? …This just seems to bring it to an all new HEIGHT…👨🏻‍✈️🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 📺 He wanted to AFFIRM that they’d all TAKE OFF WORK and FLOCK to his house to binge WATCH Ted Lasso, but knew they’d need to INVOKE the help of their manager…

    🤦🏻‍♂️ He always confused both the words evoke versus INVOKE,
    He’d need to WATCH his P’s and Q’s, but he just went for broke…
    He’s late to fly his pigeon FLOCK, although he did AFFIRM,
    That he’d be there by 4 PM…he’s starting now to squirm…
    He’ll leave the note for his boss…hopes he won’t look like a jerk…
    For not stating much sooner his intent to TAKE OFF WORK…🤦🏻‍♂️

    And of course did so to guys with wings…
    Pilots def took a hit,
    And a lot of them quit…
    Leaving airlines trying to pull strings…👨🏻‍✈️

    ✈️ No one flew for fun two years on end,
    As restrictions through airlines did wend…
    And their clientele shifted,
    As some pilots drifted…
    And now the airlines need amend…✈️

    👨🏻‍✈️These two pilots are feeling the pinch,
    ‘Cause their schedules,..hardly a cinch…
    Flying day after day,
    With no chance to allay…
    The exhaustion that’s making them wince…👨🏻‍✈️

    💤 Needing time off to catch up on rest,
    Our two pilots? Trying to do best…
    But vacation they need,
    If they’re gonna succeed…
    Without getting too way over-stressed…💤

    🤷🏻‍♀️ Once air travel was easy as pie,
    But today’s gotten tougher to fly…
    Guess we’re all in the mix,
    But pilots need a fix…
    ‘Cause we can’t have things going awry…🤷🏻‍♀️

  5. Good morning thirsty-Thursday ! Like I said yesterday , they just keep coming as fun and entertaining ! All the anagrams came as a positive FLOCK ! I didn’t need to be on WATCH for a hard one ! They were an AFFIRM action and it made me INVOKE the jumble , which TAKE OFF was easy and WORK was left ! Another fun-ble jumble ! Good song Angela ! The lyrics to that song I’m sure has been said or song by the majority of the working people at one time ! Everyone have a great thirsty-Thursday !!!!!

  6. As a former military/commercial pilot, should have seen that puzzle answer coming. But alas, it was a little too cryptic and embedded in such a way, I had no clue. But breezed through anagrams to find the answer. Yes, a good song choice, Angela. “Come Fly With Me” definitely wouldn’t be in the spirit of the cartoon today !!

    (And aviation’s become quite a mess)
    From “TAKE off time”
    It’s now “take off TIME”
    Oh, English is full of finesse!

    Yes, it’s all a question of where you place the stress on words. Even the slightest shift can completely alter the meaning.

    I’m glad to say my own transatlantic trip, earlier this month, undertaken with some trepidation, went very smoothly. An almost full flight both ways – the flying public is back.
