  1. Good Morning, Everyone… ⚰️ DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES…OR NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL CHEAT! ⚰️

🎶 REMEMBER ME..Though I have to say goodbye…Remember me, don’t let it make you cry…For even if I’m far away, I hold you in my heart…I sing a secret song to you each night we are apart…🎶 “Remember Me” – “Miquel” (featuring Natalia Lafourcade) from…Disney’s “Coco” 2017 https://tinyurl.com/mwm7nwd9

⚰️The rumor started spreading, it was hard to ELUDE,
The story that Mark Twain went THUMP…the end of the old Dude…
And just like as if SKIING…it all then went downhill,
For we all know how rumors are…Once started? Hard to kill
And Twain, far from a FRUGAL man, seeing fire from the spark…
Put a stop to the rumor…and his quote def LEFT HIS MARK! ⚰️

I think we all know the story…and the oft misquoted comment connected to it. Mark Twain didn’t die in 1897…but in 1910 as our puzzle states…And if you’ve never heard or READ about what the mourner at top, as well as I in my poem are alluding to…here you go… https://tinyurl.com/58rps7ta

So…The funeral of Samuel Clemens, pen name MARK Twain. He’s BOOKed, you know, he’s LEFT us…And we’re left with a brilliant, albeit way too easy solve! Note the dialogue…and the question…Notice what’s LEFT out? The name MARK…And between that glaring omission and the mourner stating that “He’ll be remembered for generations”?…CHAPTER and verse! Mr Twain definitely LEFT HIS MARK!… https://tinyurl.com/yc479f2p …And all we had to do was READ beTWAIN the lines…

And that’s a deFINNite spot on depiction of the period clothing…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. A SHORT STORY if there ever was one…Have a good day. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And don’t always believe everything you READ! ⚰️🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. ⛷There was a THUMP, thump, thump sound as he was SKIING, the result of his being so FRUGAL…and there was no way to ELUDE it now…he definitely had LEFT HIS MARK on the slopes…⛷

🤦🏻‍♂️ All ready to go SKIING, he heard the oddest sound,
A THUMP of sorts…his tire as it moved along the ground…
He thought of himself FRUGAL…his friends they called him cheap,
And no way he’d ELUDE it, despite his pockets deep
And now he had no choice it seemed…he pulled over to park…
Once more his penny-pinching ways saw that he LEFT HIS MARK! 🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. Here’s hoping that the extreme weather that continues to impact our country, coast to coast, finds some sort of balance soon. 🙏🏻

I’m going to be FRUGAL so I’m going to ELUDE down to the jumble cause I have always enjoyed the history of Mark Twain ! MARK my word ! So todays jumble definitely LEFT HIS MARK ! Everyone have a great Wednesday hump-day !!!!!

  5. ⚰️So the people were claiming he died,
But unknowingly all of them lied…
    Truth was Sam wasn’t dead,
    So no reason for dread…
And old Sam…he just took it in stride…⚰️

🖋 Writing under the pen name Mark Twain,
He went on to achieve literary fame…
    And lo this many years,
    His work still garners cheers…
And he’s well known under both his names! 🖋

🗣Twain a man who was blessed with quick wit,
And became well known in U.S. lit…
    He had stories to tell,
    Which he did very well…
‘Specially his tales of many misfits!🗣

📰 When word reached him of his own demise,
After papers claimed, “Sam Clemens dies”…
    He set the story straight,
    He’d see 1898…
In a letter he did so advise…📰

⚰️Twas Mark’s cousin who had taken ill,
And from that news of his death did spill…
    But today we attend,
What was Mark Twain’s true end…
1910 is the year fits the bill…⚰️

  6. Kind of knew MARK might be a part of the solution, but went straight for the anagrams. Must admit that after all was said and done, I arranged the words as FELT HIS MARK. I remember one of my adult piano students telling me about COCO….and really enjoyed that wonderful song. Must play it again soon.

  7. Good morning. It took some time but I was able to get the words and cartoon answer. Frugal finally clicked in my head from the last time we had it. Thanks for the info on Twain which I was unaware of. Interesting to say the least. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  8. Skiing stumped me but after looking up that solution the cartoon answer followed with a quick solve of left followed by ‘his Mark’.On a foggy misty Illinois morning.
Angela, are you there?Hope you’re hanging in there.

    • LOL! It’s not cheating, Miss Eleanor…it’s just “checking”! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. All different letters in an eleven letter answer. Bet that doesn’t happen very often!

    • Hi Chuck. Nice to see you….it’s been a while. Hope all is well. And good observation…🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. I too paused at skiing – for some reason it looked weird to me. However I was able to get the cartoon solution which I thought was very clever.
