  1. Good Morning, Everyone…. 🇮🇹 JUST ROME-IN AROUND 🇮🇹

    🎶 Arriverderci, Roma…Goodbye, goodbye to Rome…🎶 “Arriverdverci, Roma” – Mr Dean Martin 1962 https://tinyurl.com/52dcc8yp

🇮🇹No reason to be FUSSY, no need to be UNSURE,
He knows he won’t be ADRIFT with deliveries du jour…
He’s driven these routes many times, there’s more than one he takes,
‘Cause all roads lead him back to Rome…the truth for Heaven’s sake
(And BONGO’s met a dead end…it’ll only get me floundering)…
Let’s stick with what we know here…and it’s the Roman SURROUNDINGS! 🇮🇹

…And all roads lead to Rome…a phrase I use RELIGIOUSLY…

OK…I may be wrong, but I fear if you’re not aware that Vatican City https://tinyurl.com/sv3n2w3b is a landlocked enclave completely SURROUNDED by Rome, you may not get the DIRECTION David’s taking here, and you may not have a PRAYER in solving our puzzle today. But knowing the Vatican’s logistics, and picking up on the tell-tale dialogue, I quickly got AROUND David’s intent, and was able to DRIVE home another clever solve…And so, as previously mentioned…the saying goes, “All roads lead to Rome” and these two water salesmen were reTURNing to their element…They were back in their SURROUNDINGShttps://tinyurl.com/28tje5vv

The Gems? The manhole cover reads SPQR… https://tinyurl.com/mxcdv4yx “Senatus Populusque Romanus”, “The Senate and People of Rome”. https://tinyurl.com/98p2c4bj , the truck, hauling 5-gallon replacement jugs of water, has the Jumble “J” on its license plate with its side panel reading, “Acqua de Trevi”…the waters of the Trevi Fountain, https://tinyurl.com/4bapw7xk and there’s two nuns in traditional habits walking by….Home, Sweet Rome!

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe..and if you visit Rome, be sure not to take for GRANITE all its MARBLEous statues… 🇮🇹 🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Between the relentless banging sound of her neighbor’s BONGO drum, and the Baby being tired and FUSSY, she felt nervously ADRIFT in her own SURROUNDINGS…and was UNSURE if she’d get any rest tonight…🤦🏻‍♀️

🪘They bought their son some BONGO drums, and quickly wondered how,
They’d put up with constant noise that became the norm now…
They’re weren’t such a FUSSY pair, but now they were UNSURE,
If they’d have any peace at all in the house anymore…
The constant sound of bang, bang, bang ADRIFT throughout the house,
Made for a lot of unease now and stress from spouse to spouse
Not much more could they take of it…the daily sound of poundings…
They made a poor decision and they lost peaceful SURROUNDINGS!

  4. Hello Friday ! Everything went fine except I was UNSURE Of ADRIFT ! I don’t mean to be FUSSY , cause the jumble took a little “parts of words search” ! I saw SOUND then ING then SURR , so I read the quote again and SURROUNDINGS came , I was just a little unsure , but it was right ! So I pulled out my BONGO and played a happy beat ! Everyone have a great fun Friday !!!!!

  5. Absolutely no idea to this mornings puzzle….so diligently set about unsolving the anagrams. Took out ING (which I usually do) and that made the letters easier to unscramble. Nice to have Dino crooning this morning. Thanks, Angela, for all your cartoon gems. Must go back and relook. Have a great TGIF.

  6. Good morning. No problem with the words but it took a little deciphering to come up with the cartoon answer. Thanks for the lovely song choice Angela, it was a perfect fit. Really enjoyed listening to it and all the extra goodies you gave us. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. YVW…Be well and stay safe out there…🇮🇹🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. With all roads leading to Rome
No worries if you want to roam
    ‘Coz you’ll never get lost
No matter which way you’re tossed
Just look for the Vatican’s dome!

Yes, every city has its landmarks. Although I was keen student of Latin, I’ve visited only Tuscany, not the Rome region. I’ll be roaming across the Atlantic tonight, headed for the Athens of the North. I’m sure all you very erudite jumblers know where that is.

  8. Today’s puzzle really resonated with me and was an easy solve because when we visited Rome many years ago we got stuck in one of their roundabouts trying to get out of the city. My husband had asked for directions trying to get out of our hotel but we ended going round and round. Before we finally got on our way, a group of Italians were on the sidewalk laughing and saying “Giro Giro”! Happy Friday all!

    • I was thinking that the solve would have TURNed out interesting if it had been worded as…”SUR-ROUND-INGS”! Happy Friday to you too, Betty…🇮🇹🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Speaking of roundabouts, NJ has had them for years and I’ve been confused by them as well. Now Illinois has constructed some as well.
