  1. Good Morning, Everyone…. 🪑THE FABRIC OF HER STRIFE🪑

🎶 The times are tough now, just getting tougher…This whole world is rough, it’s just getting rougher…COVER me, come on Baby…COVER me…”Cover Me” – Bruce Springsteen 1984 https://tinyurl.com/52kz2d9f

🪑Her business did so very well while the pandemic raged,
People at home upped their decor…furniture rearranged…
Most not in a real HURRY, so she didn’t OVERDO,
As she upholstered chairs and such…made them look all brand new…
The one couple ‘bout to ELOPE, she tried to do them first…
But suddenly she weakened…and had such unquenchable thirst
It might be a FIASCO…her days as entrepreneur…
Being alone there’s no one she can have COVER FOR HER….🪑

…I used to have an interest in coloring Fabrics, but then I decided to make puns instead…SEW, basically, if I couldn’t make puns, I’d DYE…Ahem…Anyway, now LAMÉ entertain you…

Ok…Let’s start by COVERING the basics..An Upholster COVERS furniture frames with padding and fabric or leather to make beds, mattresses, chairs, sofas, etc…And our girl here, GEORGETTE, has found herself LINEN towards trouble. Unfortunately, the DOWN side to working alone is that if you do become sick, as Georgette has, you’re pretty much up the creek without a SWADDLE…And most likely unable to perSUEDE anyone to help out, since upholstering isn’t exactly something many people COTTON to… so she may soon be SATIN on a PILE of back orders…

SEW…Once again we’re WORKING with a puzzle that SEWED itself up REEL quick. Definitely no THREADpitation here today. Georgette earns her living by COVERING furniture…and for the longest time it was SOFA SEW GOOD…But as our question states…Right now, she’s alone, she’s sick…and unfortunately in her absence, she’ll have no one to COVER FOR HER. https://tinyurl.com/2p94cnjk A great pun!…And TATS all there is to it…short and SUITE…But definitely three CHAIRS for another SILKy smooth solve…

As for our cartoon though…I suffer from that “Left-Right Confusion” thing that falls under the umbrella of Gerstmann’s Syndrome, so maybe you REELy can’t go by me…(Trust me, I’d probably find a way to maim myself with a sewing machine…and I’m the first one to BOLT when it comes to sewing)…But I’ll be DARNED, something SEAMS a little off. The spool 🧵 of thread is shown being atop the needle, and from what I’ve seen as I was BOBBIN around searching for images, it looks like the thread should be at the other end of the machine. I could be wrong, and I remember COVERing this same subject here before back in 2017, but I’m aFRAYed we never REELy settled it, SEW I just thought I’d throw it out there…And if anyone knows for SHEAR, feel free to add it to our disCUSHION today…

SEW…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And keep in mind that we still NEEDLE be cautious out there…Poor Georgette…she should have still worn DAMASK …🪑🙋🏻‍♀️

    I STAND FOR UKRAINE 💔🇺🇦
…AND I STAND FOR REFORM IN AMERICA 💔🇺🇸

  2. 👫🏻 Fearing a FIASCO, and in an effort not to OVERDO things, they impulsively decided to ELOPE…and Jen had to HURRY finding someone to COVER FOR HER at work…👫🏻

🤦🏻‍♂️ He felt no need to HURRY, but she wanted to ELOPE,
Her penchant was to OVERDO, and he just couldn’t cope…
FIASCO floated through his mind, as she tried him to spur,
Would his life be one where he’d be called to COVER FOR HER? 🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. Good morning thirsty-Thursday ! Wow ! I had to ELOPE and cheat on that one ! It was a FIASCO on that one too ! Those two were just not there for me ! I don’t think I was in a HURRY and I didn’t want to OVERDO it , but those two anagrams just didn’t want to come out to me ! Now the jumble was very good to me and I loved how they always play on words with COVER (upholsterer) FOR HER (it was a she ) , and so there you have it ! I’m gonna have my soda on thirsty-Thursday and wish you all a great Thursday and have some fun !!!!

  4. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Georgette has a business to run,
    And she’s had success since she’s begun…
    But now she’s taken ill,
And there’s no one to fill…
The orders…so there will be none! 🤦🏻‍♀️

➕Working alone can be a plus,
No one’s there to annoy you or fuss…
    You call your own shots,
    Connect your own dots…
Only drawback? This puzzle tells thus…➕

🤦🏻‍♀️ Finished work now will have to be late,
‘Cause Georgette’s fallen victim to fate…
    She’s taken to bed,
    And how she does dread…
Telling customers they’ll have to wait! 🤦🏻‍♀️

🪑Whether sofa, or hassock or chair,
With upholstery they get new flair…
    You can cover a flaw,
Or just start out as raw…
Either way it’s new pieces appear!🪑

    🤷🏻‍♀️ Georgette’s hoping she’ll re”cover” soon,
Even though now it’s all sweat and swoon…
She needs get well real quick,
There’s no time to be sick…
Or her business could end up in ruin! 🤷🏻‍♀️

  5. It was the speediest of Thursdays as I blind solved the puzzle cartoon as soon as I read the caption….am moving to the front of the class for that one !!! Anagrams followed suite to confirm my solution. So…a great day in Jumble Land

  6. Good morning. I looked up Fiasco. Drew a blank on that word but the rest was a breeze. The cartoon answer was covered in the blink of an eye once I put down all the letters for it. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  7. The perils of a business alone
You work yourself to the bone
And there’s none who’ll step in
If one day you’re done in
And oh what you’d give for a clone!

My loonie limericks may be a bit less frequent for the next couple of weeks, as I will be travelling – if I ever get out of Toronto Airport, currently the worst in the world for delays and cancellations! I’ll look for the jumble website whenever I get wifi. However I’ll be five hours ahead of Can/USA time so that should help. Angela, I know you’ll continue with the limericks

  8. Before solving the anagrams I figured”for her” then COVER quickly came to mind. I didn’t even try to solve the anagrams.
    Keep safe.
