  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
🏈 THERE’S NO BUSINESS LIKE THROW BUSINESS! 🏈

🎶 I love every movement. there’s nothing I would change…He doesn’t need improvement…He’s always right there in my range…POETRY IN MOTION… RUNNING down the FIELD…A PLAYER of devotion…we got this TOUCHDOWN sealed…🎶 “Poetry In Motion” – (with apologies to) Johnny Tillotson 1960 https://tinyurl.com/2ah3c8a9

🏈 Trying to catch a football is not an easy feat,
And many men have failed the grade..not made the elite FLEET,
There’s times the ball is SLIMY, one need possess good grip,
And breakdown on a certain play?…It’s OUTAGE at a clip…
A Quarterback sees his team SPRAWL…he looks for his key men,
And hopefully connects real well…which leads to touchdown then
And if you’ve seen our Jerry Rice when he was in his prime…
You’ve seen the game played at its best…despite PASSAGE OF TIME! 🏈

A little trivia…Jerry Rice…2005-06 competed on “Dancing With The Stars”… and although not a fan of the show, I watched because of him. …And I cheered him on, still in possession of that fancy footwork…And I think he was robbed by coming in second…Anyway…

So…If you know Football, this one fell RIGHT INTO YOUR HANDS…If you don’t…well here’s a little RUN DOWN of what you may need know to solve our puzzle today. Our man of the hour, Jerry Rice, https://tinyurl.com/yc4f3tkv , inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 2010, is shown standing at the Hall’s podium. And he’s been said by many to be one of, if not the greatest wide receiver in NFL History. But, what is a wide receiver? He’s the player whose principal role is to catch forward PASSES from the quarterback. On PASSING plays, the receiver attempts to avoid, outmaneuver, or simply outrun the cornerbacks or safeties defending him. If the receiver becomes open on his pass route, the quarterback may throw a pass to him…And Jerry was fortunate to play with some of the finest Quarterbacks in the game….especially Joe Montana https://tinyurl.com/3yt8j2nh who we see here today standing with him…. They were great together….they dominated the game…they were pure poetry in motion. And by playing with some of the greats, the legendary Jerry Rice succeeded in racking up some extremely impressive stats, as can be seen here on screen….So with our dialogue speaking of TIME gone by, “like forever ago”, and “my years”, and PASSING being our key…Voila!…The PASSAGE OF TIME! https://tinyurl.com/3snvhrxv And we got ourselves a Touchdown!

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Be well, stay safe, and here’s hoping we’re all lucky enough to have a wide receiver in our corner…🏈🙋🏻‍♀️

    I STAND WITH UKRAINE 💔🇺🇦

  2. ⚓️ The PASSAGE OF TIME did nothing to assuage the SLIMY reputation that the ship had acquired after the power OUTAGE, and despite the best efforts of the Navy Department, it continued to SPRAWL through the FLEET… ⚓️

🚚 He had a little FLEET of little trucks, he played with them each day,
He’d SPRAWL them all out in a row, and pass the time away…
But then there came an OUTAGE, the store shelves had grown bare,
His parents they searched high and low…but no trucks anywhere…
So now for sure he cared for them, no SLIMY dirt on any,
While he still hoped he’d get more soon…he kept saving his pennies
He plays with all the old ones, while they still are in their prime…
And fingers crossed shipments resume…with the PASSAGE OF TIME!🚚

  3. Good morning taco-Tuesday ! I can taste them already ! Todays jumble was a real touchdown ! The anagrams were within the first down and no OUTAGE ! Nothing SLIMY about them ! There was no need SPRAWL about footbawl ! And a new FLEET of receivers came in PASSAGE OF TIME ! Very fun and a great theme to have some tacos ! Everyone have a great taco-Tuesday !!!!

  4. Almost never check those anagram answers in the post…so didn’t see the SMILY. I figure they’re spelled pretty much correctly after I unscramble them and don’t need that crutch….but maybe I’ve used once or twice in the past…don’t quite remember. Anyway, a second day Blind Solve, but stumbled a little over FLEET, initially spelling FETEL…but got that all taken care of…There was no T in the cartoon puzzle. Taco’s sound good this morning, especially B’fast Tacos…Enjoy your day

    • Same here, Terry, I don’t ever look at the posted words…But I see now that there’s a typo, and I’ve passed the word on. 👍🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

      • I’m with you both on that ! I pass the posted anagrams straight to the comments ! But with all the comments and confusion on it , it put a smil on my face !

  5. It takes throw after throw after throw
    For your reputation to grow
    A laser-like pass
    Takes practice and class
Seems Rice was the ultimate pro!

  6. Apart from slimy looking like smily an easy Taco Tuesday solution.
Anyone else confuse these 2 words?

  7. 🏈 In an effort to gain football fame,
Jerry Rice gave his all to the game…
He had hands that would grip,
    What the QB would flip…
And he made himself quite a great name! 🏈

🏈 For Montana and Rice we would cheer,
And with them there was no “hold my beer”…
    They def did dominate,
Not just leave things to fate…
‘Twas great football from year into year! 🏈

🏈 Racked up stats that we talk about still,
Jerry Rice could provide quite the thrill…
    Is he really the best,
    As so many attest?
Comes to numbers…Jerry proved his skill! 🏈

  8. Years ago, I recall, one of the words to unscramble turned out to be MINTS. Can you explain why, as simply a plural, this was used?
    This seemed odd.

    • Kevin…We just “report the news” here, we don’t make it. We just do commentary. When it comes to the use of any words…that’s a question for David alone. 🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. There is no “M” in the circled letters so I was unable to get the answer. The second word is SMILY and only the SIL are circled.

    ____________________________________

    • It’s already been brought to our attention that SLIMY was inadvertently listed as Smily, and the correction has been made. 🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. All Smiles here today with the references to Jerry Rice and Joe Montana who surely represented the Golden Age of Football for 49er fans. Happy Tuesday to all!

    • Harriet…there’s a slew of X-word puzzles out there. What are you referring to? 🤷🏻‍♀️
