  1. Good Morning, Everyone 🦮THIS ONE’S A GOOD FETCH! 🦮

🎶 You ain’t nothing but a HOUND DOG, cryin’ all the time…You ain’t nothing but a HOUND DOG dog, cryin’all the time..Well you ain’t never caught a rabbit and you ain’t no friend of mine…🎶 “Hound Dog” – Elvis 1956 https://tinyurl.com/yuf74m2y

🦮 They cleared a TRACT of city space and made it a dog park,
It did prove quite a VOYAGE, but now you’d hear the dogs bark…
They ran around and they played fetch, a YOKEL here and there,
But some GENDER came into play, the males did domineer
And one dog did outshine the Pugs, the Danes and Irish Setters…
A fleet-footed Retriever proved to be the REAL GO-GETTER! 🦮

This park again…We’ve seen it a few times now and then over the past two, three years…yet, it’s still unidentified..and it HOUNDs me…

So…except for the slightest PAWS at VOYAGE, the Early Birds didn’t TRIP over any of today’s words. And the solve was an easy one to CATCH…With the dog being a RETRIEVE-r https://tinyurl.com/5n93wjch and so eager to fetch (get) the ball, I BIT…and the idiom REAL GO-GETTER https://tinyurl.com/bdh86ktz immediately came to mind…

…And aside from the Clock Tower which won’t give me the time of day, located in the park that won’t either…there’s a runner and a dog walker at back. But what CAUGHT my eye was the mean look on the Retriever’s face…and his total disregard for his fellow mate…I mean MUTT. TBT?…I think he’s REALly a BULLy dog!

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Be well, stay safe…and HAIR’s hoping no one has a RUFF day…🦮🙋🏻‍♀️

…And my thoughts go out to those of our readers observing the solemnity of Good Friday, ✝️ and to those of our readers celebrating their first night of Passover ✡️

  2. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Despite being a REAL GO-GETTER when it came to clearing a TRACT, the old boy network made her feel like a YOKEL because of her GENDER…so embarking on this new VOYAGE of forestry work wasn’t going so well…🤷🏻‍♀️

🙇🏻‍♂️ He wasn’t quite a YOKEL, but he mostly came up short,
When it came to vocabulary and it showed in his report…
The word he needed, Track, he incorrectly went with TRACT,
But he felt that his GENDER was enough to just distract…
The others from his shortfalls…and this VOYAGE would go well,
But he was wrong…and there was no way his work he could sell
They told him that his writing skills needed to get much better
Or he’d be let go even though he was a REAL GO-GETTER…🙇🏻‍♂️

  3. Wow ! Good morning , Saturday weekend ! What a jumble ! I had a little question mark on the spelling of YOKEL , but I said “ go for it “ ! So I stayed on TRACT and continued my VOYAGE through the jumble and found that it doesn’t matter what GENDER the dog was , it was a REAL ( first word that came to me ) and GO said “ don’t stop “ , so I retrieved the GETTER ! Fun an entertaining jumble ! Loved it ! Great song Angela ! Everyone have a great weekend !!

  4. Enjoyable little canine outing today….will have to disagree with Angela about a mean look on the go-getter dog. Just seems like he/she is just totally captivated with the game and would probably play until total exhaustion takes place. We have a son-in-law with such a dog. Anagrams pretty easy, but no solve came to mind at first. Spent a few minutes trying to figure out a good first puzzle word. When REAL appeared, it all fell into place. Enjoy TGIF today and see you tomorrow. Great Elvis song from the 50’s, Angela

  5. To lead your life without fetter
    For a dog that’s a real go-getter
    Chase and fetch all day
    That’s really the way
    Things just can’t get better!

Good morning Angela, Terry and Jim – not sure Good Friday is a holiday in all states in USA. It is here in Ontario. I’ll have to see what’s sprouting in the garden although spring starts later here.

  6. A Good Friday indeed w a quick solve of the anagrams and the cartoon.Indeed a holy day today, but a stock market holiday in the US.

  7. Cute puzzle this morning. Had to paws a few minutes on the cartoon answer but figured out “go” and the rest fell into place nicely. Interesting that Good Friday is a holiday in Canada. Many years ago most businesses closed from 12:00 to 3:00 but that practice stopped some time ago. Wishing all a good day.

    • I remember the Italian owned Mom and Pop stores in our neighborhood doing that growing up, some of them closing completely…but just like everything else, the “old” neighborhood has long ago changed. Being all Catholic school attendees, my brothers and cousins and I were always home today, “Easter” vacation having begun on Holy Thursday. My Grandmother’s four daughters all kept to her Neapolitan traditions, so on Good Friday we had no TV or radio after 12 PM…And we removed our shoes too, until going to Church on Easter morning. I never gave it a second thought growing up…it’s just the way it was. I guess today it seems rather strict, but oddly enough I still honor the TV thing till this day, and a few of my cousins have kept the tradition with their children. As one of my cousins put it…”It’s just one day, it won’t kill them”…Just as it didn’t kill any of us…Wishing you a Blessed day, Betty. Be well and stay safe…✝️🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Oh, wow, Angela. Though my grandparents were from Genoa, we too were not allowed any radio, TV or loud noises after Noon on Good Friday. Didn’t have to remove our shoes. Those traditions died with my Grandparents. I applaud you for sticking with them. 👏

        • Thank you, Betty. God knows, (no pun intended), I’m far from a holy rover…in fact…in reality I may very well tip the scales in the other direction…but I do try to keep the things that I can…And hopefully the kids will too. But who knows…
