  1. Good Morning, Everyone…. 🧜🏻‍♀️ MER-MAID TO ORDER! 🧜🏻‍♀️

🎶 One fine day love came for me…When love was rare as love can be?..I saw stars…🎶 “Love Came For Me” – The theme song from the movie “Splash” – Rita Coolidge 1984
    https://tinyurl.com/s9frynfn

🧜🏻‍♀️APART from all the fantasy, it captured people’s hearts,
And Ron chose well his actors…they were perfect in their parts…
There was some DISMAY here and there, but as with all rom-coms,
You knew that it would HAPPEN…love between Daryl and Tom…
The ocean scenes were color-PLUSH, NY had usual flash…
And a million dollar budget raked in tons and MADE A SPLASH!🧜🏻‍♀️

When you’re talking Box Office Royalty, it doesn’t get much better than Ron Howard https://tinyurl.com/3tk533sr and Tom Hanks. https://tinyurl.com/mr87br4r …Today’s feature film, “SPLASH”, https://tinyurl.com/2xmxecxj was their first collaboration, and they went on to do it four more times. Personally, they’re two of my favorites, and the talent between them is immeasurable, IMHO. I mean, if for nothing else… who doesn’t love Opie?

Ok…words…Once again, we’re looking at one old anagram, which just so HAPPENs to be PHANEP…which ran the gamut from 1975 up until 2008. But none of our anagrams were a problem. And the Early Birds were heard to mention that DISMAY may have been a head scratcher…save for it having been seen quite recently in one of David’s Apps. The solve? Well that went just SWIMMINGly!

So…Today a TAIL of two star-crossed lovers. And the carrying of a 20 year old torch…Sweet movie. And you know what sticks in my head when I think of it? When Alan (Tom) yells out Madison’s (Daryl) name? I can’t help but think of Marlon Brando in “Streetcar Named Desire” when he yells out…”Stella…Stella”… https://tinyurl.com/3pdvw8vf Anybody? No? Hmm…Ok..Maybe not exactly the same thing…and maybe it’s just me, but I’m strange like that…I have a head full of Hollywood Trivia…Anyway… I digress…Ok, our cartoon…

1985, and we see Ron Howard at the Academy Awards, with the two stars of his movie “Splash”, Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah https://tinyurl.com/2p9et239. Ron, speaking of “the nomination”, is referring to Best Screenplay, since that was the only category in which it was cited. And the studio, is Touchstone Pictures, with “Splash” being its first film…. And it went on to be Box Office gold, earning 69 million dollars, on a budget of one. Talk about making a SPLASH! https://tinyurl.com/mtj47ku6 But I’m wondering if you’re not familiar with the movie if the solve would automatically come to you. And I’m not REELy sure. Knowing the movie well, it was an automatic read for the Early Birds and me, but if you hadn’t a clue, you could be up the creek without a Daryl!…But the bottom line here…”Splash” definitely MADE A SPLASH!

…And how cool was Ron Howard with that beautiful head of hair?…And Tom saying he hopes he keeps getting starring roles?…Memories are made of this…But it’s Daryl’s mermaid hemmed skirt that MADE A SPLASH with me!

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and and pass the popcorn…🍿🙋🏻‍♀️

    I STAND WITH UKRAINE. 💔🇺🇦

  2. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Much to her DISMAY, she didn’t expect the PLUSH items to be displayed APART from the rest, and she hoped that if it had to HAPPEN, that they all still MADE A SPLASH….🤷🏻‍♀️

👩‍👧‍👦 She thought that it might HAPPEN, that the kids would misbehave,
In the theater she split them APART, before things became grave..
It was to her DISMAY though…seats together were a plus,
And now she’d have to split herself..things weren’t looking PLUSH
She hoped that she could swing it…her decision not be rash..
But she needed they be quiet when the actors MADE A SPLASH…👩‍👧‍👦

  3. Good morning Wednesday hump-day ! The last two days of jumbles were very fun to do , now this one is also fun ! I only had one anagram that set it APART from the others and it left me in DISMAY, but I made it HAPPEN , which made the jumble today as PLUSH as the previous two ! I never saw the movie SPLASH, but I know all stars . I can only think of Ron Howard as Opie on Andy Griffith , but after I saw a clip of it , Daryl Hannah definitely MADE A SPLASH ! Everyone have a mid week going toward the weekend SPLASH ! Have a great Wednesday hump-day !!!!

  4. 💰 Today’s puzzle a movie called “Splash”
That became a huge box office smash…
    With a mermaid in love,
    Under sea or above…
And it went on to make lots of cash…💰

🎬 Daryl, Tom and the ocean’s vast realm,
And Ron Howard sitting at the helm…
    The movie drew acclaim,
    Tom was never the same…
    He had audiences now overwhelmed…🎬

❤️ Many years Alan thought of that girl,
Who had given his heart quite a whirl…
    And when finally they met,
    There would be no regret…
This time we saw true love be unfurled…❤️

  5. It’s been awhile since I was able to vote no problems on the Jumble and with a blind solve to boot. It’s a Plush feeling not to have any Dismay and I Happen to like feeling close to the Jumble community and not Apart from it. I guess you could say: I Made a Splash. I’ll offer Bobby Darin’s 1958 hit, “Splish Splash” as another appropriate song.

  6. Saw this very entertaining movie back in ’84, I think, so SPLASH was such a dead give-a-way. All was completed in about 20 seconds and didn’t even have to write out the unscrambled anagrams. Wish more days were like this, but alas. Great song, Angela, although I don’t remember it outside of the movie. Everyone enjoy their Hump Day !!

    • Tks, Terry…Me either. I don’t think it made much of a splash…😉 Have a good one. 🧜🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Good morning. Another successful completion on both ends. Still no blind solve but after looking at the letters for less than a minute the senior moment passed and the light bulb went on for my big splash. Thanks for the song video Angela, enjoyable to watch. Not sure if I ever saw the whole movie. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. YW, and thank you. Be well and stay safe out there…🧜🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Anagrams were a snap and so was the cartoon answer even though I was not familiar w the movie, though a big Ron Howard fan!

  9. Good morning fellow Jumblers ! For me, today’s puzzle was fun and pretty easy, however, I never saw the movie, but I watched Ron Howard grow from a sweet and talented little guy as Shirley Jones’s little brother in The Music Man (his solo song”GARY INDIANA” was the cutest ever, to Opie on The Andy Griffith Show, to the leading movie director and producer for many, many years !
The words were easy for me today but the jumble was a little tricky – thank you little bro Jim for getting me hooked and he would’ve been just as cute as Ron Howard if he would’ve been in that movie, The Music Man ! AWWW !
Have a sunny day everyone – until tomorrow !

  10. I would like to give a shout-out to Ron Howard’s recent memoir, ‘The Boys’ which he co-wrote with his equally talented brother Clint Howard. It’s a fabulous book by two show business legends and a tribute to their remarkable parents.

  11. Dove right in and came up with the anagrams & cartoon answer easily this morning. Like oldomaha, Bobby Darin’s “Splish Splash” came to mind. Happy Wednesday to all!
