    8️⃣The Dad looks kind of GROGGY, he’s def had a real long day,
    But we see that Mom is smiling…nothing BITTER on display…
    The meal is pretty DECENT, after all it is quite late,
    To be feeding the children…but tonight…victims of fate…
    It must be Lent and Friday…place was packed…an ANNUAL scene,
    Trying to HANDLE pizza orders….when they’re so umpteen…
    But one thing has me wondering…that I noticed at first,
    Why no glasses on the table? …It can’t be no one has THIRST…
    But anyway, here they all sit…and Mom thinks it’s just great…
    That they are all together…it’s sweet that EIGHT ATE AT EIGHT! 8️⃣

    Ok, so maybe it’s not exactly the Bradys… but 3 boys, 3 girls, the Father’s hair…close enough…

    Today’s anagrams offer up three old, three new…with the last appearances of our old being:…RGYGOG from 2019, CETEND, 2018, and NAALUN, 2012. And it was ANNUAL that didn’t sit well with one Early Bird, and THIRST that another couldn’t quite swallow…But as for the solve? Mom saying she’s “just happy we’re ALL EATING TOGETHER”, Dad saying “Sorry we’re EATING so LATE”, our question mentioning the parents and their 6 children..(do the Math), two 8 slice pizzas on the table..plus the old clock on the wall giving us 8 o’clock? No matter how you SLICE it, Folks…EIGHT takes center stage…When they had a late dinner? EIGHT ATE AT EIGHT! …And EIGHTn’t this a Vanna White delight?

    Our cartoon? The little boy asking his brother if he likes seafood? If you look real closely, you’ll SEE that he’s pointing into his mouth…where a little bite of pizza’s showing….SEE FOOD! Gotta love the humor of little boys!…But I have to put my cards on the TABLE here…The girl to Dad’s left has no plate, there’s not a napkin in sight..and as I mentioned in my poem…why aren’t there any glasses? I mean, SAUSAGE his own…but eating pizza without a napkin…AND not drinking?…What’re we savages?

    So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and Buon appetito…Mangia! 🍕🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🙇🏻‍♂️ Attending the ANNUAL EIGHT ATE AT EIGHT dinner, he was feeling a little GROGGY and sensed a BITTER taste after trying to quench his THIRST with the less than DECENT lemonade; and he tried to get a HANDLE on what it was that made him feel so poorly…🙇🏻‍♂️

    🍽 She saw the pretty ANNUAL, but there was just one left,
    She grabbed it by its HANDLE, surprised now by its heft…
    She felt a little BITTER that there only was this one,
    She hoped it would look DECENT in the garden she’d begun…
    The sun made her feel GROGGY though…and she worked up a THIRST,
    And knew that it was time to go …lest she not be the first…
    To get to tonight’s dinner, since she was always late…
    But this time she’d not be the last when the EIGHT ATE AT EIGHT! 🍽

  4. Good Sunday-Funday ! I had a very successful Sunday jumble with the anagrams, but the jumble was out there ! The only connection with the number eight was the clock , cause the jumble said six kids and they having pizza and they all seemed happy ! I’m sorry , but I didn’t see any connection ! But really liked the anagrams ! So everyone have a wonderful Sunday Funday ! Oh and Angela I love the Brady bunch song ! The Brady bunch , the Brady bunch !

  6. Good morning. I could kick myself. All the clues are there to solve the cartoon answer and yet I fail to grasp all the hints the guys leave. The words were simple but that’s as far as I got. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    Proves quite true…comes to food can be rough…
    ‘Specially with growing boys?
    Easy to lose your poise…
    Paying food bills can definitely be tough! 8️⃣

    🥘 With a family as large as this,
    Can be hard to keep things not amiss…
    Dinner time becomes key,
    And I think they’ll agree…
    Eating together does equal bliss! 🥘

    🍕 When the menu calls for pizza pie,
    It’s just easy for Mom, no deny…
    And if going by price,
    It’s frugal…slice by slice…
    And the meal pleases each girl and guy! 🍕

    🤷🏻‍♀️ When you’re looking at six kids to feed,
    Planning of meals is definitely a need…
    Think of various tastes,
    And be mindful of waste…
    It’s a challenge for Mom…yes indeed! 🤷🏻‍♀️

    🍽 Set a table and make it for eight,
    Whether they’re eating early or late…
    It’s a big group for sure,
    But it has its allure…
    Long as all appetites can be sate! 🍽

    • Well written Angela! A family of six children is a rarity these days in this part of the world at least. With food prices rising it would be tough to feed them all well.

  9. It was a Marsha birthday weekend, and with her son and family here, had help from a nine-year old. Puzzle had me a little perplexed. Like others, did not see connection between the times and number of participants. Silly me. Anagrams were easy, but just didn’t pull it all together. We’ll see you on Monday morning, for sure !!

    • Thank you! I come up with of 99% of all the Jumble answers. I love doing it so much. People are always e-mailing me wanting to submit Jumble ideas but I don’t accept them. Way more fun for me to think them up. Every now and then I’ll let my dad or a few close friends submit an idea, but that’s it. I love the challenging of coming up with them.

  11. Anagrams were a snap,but I didn’t catch that the parents plus 6 added up to ‘eight’ for dinner.After looking that up as the first word,the rest followed suit.
