  1. Good Morning, Everyone… I hope this finds you well…
🐶 THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER 🐶

🎶 Oh HOT DIGGITY DOG ZIGGITY, boom what you do to me,..It’s so new to me, what you do to me…HOT DIGGITY DOG ZIGGITY, boom what you do to me….When you’re holding me tight…🎶 “ Hot Diggity (Dog Ziggity Boom) – Mr Perry Como 1956 https://tinyurl.com/bdekwnpb

🐶 The dog had seen the neighbors always GOING in their pool,
Today the sky’s pure INDIGO, but temps have made him drool…
Last night they held a party, Hawaiian was its THYME,
Oh wait, it’s theme he meant to say….his verbiage a crime…
But anyway, with all this heat the pool’s got him agog…
He didn’t TODDLE…he jumped in…he’s one HOT DIGGITY DOG! 🐶

Except for MYHET from last year, today David’s once again DUG UP three new anagrams for us. And there was no BONE to pick with any of them. As for the solve? What you see is what you get, Folks. In fact, if you dedicated Jumble fans remember, during Day 5 of Guest Jumbler Week 2020, we had the same solve…but with a totally different theme. In that puzzle we saw Dagwood Bumstead biting into a spicy chili-laden hot dog that definitely had his hair standing on end. But this time, we’re BARKING up a different tree…this time we have Snoopy…DIGGING…

DOGGEDLY determined to get a respite from the SCORCHING HEAT, we see that our HOT DOG Snoopy took the PLUNGE and burrowed under his fence to get to his neighbor’s pool. And it’s funny that his owner would question how he got there, since it stands to reason that the ground would be dug up on his side of the fence too…I guess he just couldn’t see the forest for the FLEAS…And while you have to sympathize with poor Snoopy…who’s thinking HOT DIGGITY DOG “this is going to feel so good”…those paws? After DIGGITY DIGGING in all that dirt? His neighbor’s definitely gonna have a RUFF time cleaning that up!

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Be well, stay safe…And let’s hope that cooler heads prevail everywhere…🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

    I STAND WITH UKRAINE 💔🇺🇦

  2. 🥃 With the song “HOT DIGGITY DOG” playing endlessly, he needed to change it, but as he was GOING to get up, he found himself unable to walk without a TODDLE to his step…but he refused to blame it on the liquor..and rather felt it was the INDIGO looking THYME that he saw being mixed in with his drink…🥃

💦 The fog kept her from GOING to the store this rainy day,
Instead of THYME she’d go with sage…part of her herb mainstays…
She watched her child TODDLE, to the old tunes that she played,
She wondered with “Mood INDIGO” if he perhaps might sway…
She glanced outside her window…thinking soup with rain and fog…
Would hit the spot and hoped the family’d say…”HOT DIGGITY DOG”! 💦

  3. Good morning Friday start of the weekend ! My brain didn’t have the patience today cause we were without electric all night , the local utility company came and exchanged a cable from our house to the other side of the road ! A very busy working day ! We got it done but I was drained . The jumble I had to cheat a little, but saw it ! The anagrams went a little better but I’ll just take it and the song that immediately came to me 🎵 ( hot diggity dog ziggity ,boom )🎵 I knew that Angela would have it ! I love that song ! Well everyone have a wonderful Friday start of the weekend !!!

  4. Good morning dog lovers ! Well maybe not – I guess not everyone loves those sweet little pooches especially if they jump in your pool ! Oh well, today wasn’t as hard as I expected except for the wotd “toddle” , actually the jumble came to me pretty easily after I got all the words. Cute cartoon and fun puzzle today ! Hope everyone has a blessed weekend – stay safe and warm and pray that we don’t get over a foot of snow here they’re predicting ! Where is spring !
    Until tomorrow !

  5. Knew if that pesky little pup was heading to the pool because of the scorching weather, it had to have something to do with “hot dog.” However, “diggity” eluded me until the 3rd word! No pool weather here anytime soon, with snow predicted up to seven inches for tomorrow! Grrrr!😡!! Have a Fabulous Friday! 🤗

    • Hi Kimberly…Oddly enough, this is the 3rd time this solve has been used…and it was printed as such both times before. But today it seems to have opened a can of worms…🤷🏻‍♀️ Hoping the snow passes you by..and wishing you a great day too…🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Thank you, Sweetie! And yes, who would have ever thought that “Diggity” would become the “buzzword” of the day! 😄 And open up that 🥫of 🪱’s! Hahaha! Take care. Stay safe and well! ☺️

        • YW, Kimberly…and thank you. And wishing you’re well and safe too. 🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. This Jumble has no solution. The only 7-letter word that can be made from the cartoon clue is THIGGET, meaning to beg, and THIGGET does not lead to a solution. DIGGETY is not a word, according to Merriam-Webster ( https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/diggety ). If the authors really wanted to use DIGGETY in a Jumble, the word should have been in quotes.

      • 🎵No Diggity!🎵🤣🤣 Actually, I checked my old, falling apart, Random House dictionary, and couldn’t find it in there either.

        • You would think that since 1956, “Diggity”, would have been recognized as a word somewhere! Right? Obviously, it’s been used in language, since before that, and used in song lyrics up to present times! This has been great “pun” for me today! 😂😂😂

    • Jim…As I just told Kimberly, it’s the 3rd time around for the solve, and there weren’t quotes the first 2 times either..🤷🏻‍♀️

    • It’s my understanding that the requirement of MW words is only for the jumbles, not the answer.

      • Bingo! Exactly, Dennis..which is why I didn’t address the “word” itself, just the use of it in the solve. It should go without saying…It’s definitely not the first time we’ve had a “non-word” as a Jumble answer, and rest assured it won’t be the last. That’s the whole idea of it…the “play on words”… Besides the fact that it’s a solve being played for the third time! IDK, maybe it’s just me, but in light of what’s going on around us…this is definitely not something to get my goat. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks for reassuring me that I’m not the only one here who not only got the pun…but enjoyed it. Have a good one, Dennis. Be well and stay safe out there. 🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. My blind solve for the day was TOO DOGGONE HOT….but that was not to be. As I unscrambled anagrams, noticed there was no E for my solution. Therefore, wondered a bit about the E in TODDLE, then figured the answer must go down another pathway. With all the G’s…thought it might be DOG ——-DOG, until DIGGIDY appeared.

Great song, Angela…and brings up those days in the mid-50’s (when Rock and Roll was beginning to surface) and Mitch Miller was influencing Pop singing culture by releasing novelty songs like this plus others (How much is that Doggy in the Window, Come on a My House) which many singers said caused the demise of well-composed music/ballads/love songs, etc…..it’s an interesting period of time.

    • Hi Terry..Thank you…And I agree, It’s a great old song…. And somehow one can never go wrong with Perry. 🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Good morning. Really enjoyed today’s jumble. Especially the cartoon answer and Angela’s song choice. The words came fairly easy with the longer ones taking more time than the first two. No blind solve but when I figured out the two letter words and saw the remaining letters, Diggity popped right into my head. It put a smile on my face. Until tomorrow stay well and stay.

    • Good Morning, Paul. I’m glad it gave you a smile. Hoping you’re staying well and safe too. 🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Cute puzzle again this morning. Figured out the anagrams and cartoon solution without any problems. Great song choice as always, Angela. Big Perry Como fan here. Happy Friday all!

    • Hi Betty. Thank you…And I’m with you on all of it. Happy Friday to you too…🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. The last time I saw the word “Diggity” I made an exception, for myself, to accept it for breaking the Jumble rules I’ve come to rely on. At that time, it appeared in an illustration by the guest cartoonist for “Blondie.” Now that I see it used by the Jumble creators themselves, I’ve learned to accept it again; this time as a legitimate word in the comic strip world, as a tribute to Blondie creator, Chic Young

    • Today’s solve wasn’t first seen in the Blondie puzzle, David put it into play back in 2016. And there’s no tribute to Chic Young here today, why would you think that? …it’s simply a Jumble solve as usual…just as it was the first time it was used. https://tinyurl.com/twv9et9d It’s a phrase, plain and simple…But an exception? Where? Exactly what Jumble rules do you believe to have been broken? It’s just business as usual…🤷🏻‍♀️

      • Since you asked, my comment reads, “the last time I saw the word ‘Diggity.’” I am speaking for myself, as someone who started doing the puzzle around 2019 or so. My Jumble rule to know if a word is legitimate, for myself, is to type the word I’m not sure about on my phone: example “toddle define.” When I see that it is a legitimate word I write it in as a Jumble word. “Diggity” is the only word, since I started doing the Jumble, that doesn’t fit into this category/ rule. So I came up with a whimsical answer for myself and the Jumble creators to make it fit: they’re making a tribute to Chic Young. On a side note, in the cartoon and comic strip world, many of the characters only have 4 fingers on each hand

        • I’m sorry, but you’re missing the whole point of the Jumble. Words used in the solve DON’T NEED TO BE ACTUAL ‘WORDS’, per se. The whole idea is the “play on words”, the pun. That’s something that’s been established since day one. Looking up DIGGITY would get you nowhere. It’s just part of the phrase, HOT DIGGITY DOG, which isn’t all that uncommon. I’ve used it many a time, and I’ve heard it used in return. There’s no “category” for it to fall into…So it’s not going to be “included as a Jumble word”. Jumble words are the ones given daily, the 4 or 6. And each of those will always be legitimate Merriam-Webster sanctioned words. Again, what shows up as part of the solve is a moot point here, since the answer can and will be whatever strikes David’s fancy…and he does love his puns. But again, with all due respect, there is no tribute here today to Chic Young. I’ve shown you the puzzle from 2016 where David first used the phrase. As far as Mr Young goes, in 2020, during Guest Jumbler Week, the Blondie comic strip was a featured guest. Hence, this… https://tinyurl.com/yckzjmfr but that’s all it was. The phrase here today has nothing to do with him. In fact, I’m pretty sure the phrase itself has been used since as far back as 1923, when it was uttered by Al Jolson. And then, of course, it was further popularized by Perry Como in the recording. So…again, with all due respect, none of us “came up” with anything much here as far as coining anything. We just solved the puzzle, plain and simple. No “real” word, no Chic Young tribute…NO MAS, PLEASE! At this point, we’re just beating a dead horse here. And as far as the fingers on cartoon characters go? They all have only 4 on each hand…again, something that goes back many many a year….And I’m getting the impression that you may be pulling my leg with all this….As a rule, we don’t usually address Anonymous posters, and I’m beginning to see why! Enjoy your day…God knows I’m trying to enjoy mine! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. 💦 With this poor beagle feeling the heat,
    And refusing to admit defeat…
    He’s dug under the fence,
    Making his owner tense…
    But he’s thinking…”Cool water…a treat”! 💦

🤷🏻‍♂️Blame the owner here for what we see,
    Leaving Snoopy outside with degrees…
That have risen so high…Sun’s ablaze in the sky…
Can you fault Snoopy his little spree? 🤷🏻‍♂️

☀️ With the ground now all dug up and messed,
Looks like our owner’s put to the test…
He’ll be out in the heat,
    Getting it to look neat..
    While our beagle’s doing the stroke…breast! ☀️

  12. I don’t know why……but I think this is hysterical! 🤣🤣🤣 I went out and walked my dog for 2 1/2 miles before the snow storm sets in, got back on here, and the discussions are still about “Diggity!” 🤣🤣🤣 God forbid that the Jumble Answer someday is, “Dippity Doo”! Everyone is gonna have a Coronary!!! 😆😆😆 (Honest to God, Anj, if you find an answer “Dippity Doo”, in the archives, I’m gonna have a Coronary!!!🫀🫀🫀🫀!) 😂😂😂This site, and all of you on here, make my day, for sure! Posting with the utmost respect to everyone! 😘

    • Dippity Doo, indeed, Kimberly! 😂 And if I get a chance I’ll look…but right now? I’m like…”K, NINE times I’ve gone over this”! SMH! 🤦🏻‍♀️ It definitely needs to be put to rest! 🙋🏻‍♀️

            • Tk you, I try. Maybe not the coolest, but I do have my good days. And I’d like to ask a favor…I cringe when anyone refers to me as Angie, or Anj. It’s just not me. Please don’t take offense by me saying so, but it’s just not a name I go by. And since it seems like I’m doing penance here today anyway…😉 I just thought it was a good time to tell you…And pass the wine…there’s no way I have this many sins to atone for! 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Well, at least you know that there’s more people who do the Jumble than the same 5 or so people who usually comment each day

        • And you are “Anonymous!” Sooo…..????? Your point is ???? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

        • Hmm…I know this is you again…But in answer to your statement, there was never any doubt as to the number of people who play the Jumble, and more so who visit our site. The site is viewed by double digit thousands on a daily basis. Today alone, as we speak, more than 45K people have taken a look…and it’s still very early. And we’ve had numbers that have exceeded 90K…So I think we’re ok here. And as for the “same 5 or so people” who comment? They’re family as far as we’re concerned. Thank God there’s still something to be said about loyalty…🙋🏻‍♀️

          • Hey! Love you guys! The five or more I’ve made friends with. Most certainly Anj, Mikey, Betty, Caroline, Migs, Jim, Ol Lady El! Countless others! Sorry if I did not post to all, you all have been there! Let’s take a deep breath and start having fun again! Love the posts from everyone! Love this site! Let’s not get into a pi$$ing match! Ok?
Having fun here! 🥰🥰🥰 Have a great Day! And let’s be kind and stick together!

            • I’m good, Kimberly. For the past week or so, my heart and my head are consumed with what’s happening in Ukraine…this is all trivial. 💔🇺🇦🙋🏻‍♀️

            • Unless, that is! you want to get into a pi$$ing match! I’m there! 💪🏻I’m as Wiley as a coyote, and will take on anyone! To defend my friends! So there you have it! 😝

              • Sorry, Anj! I’m not in a fighting mood either. Unless, Someone pi$$es me off. I’ll defend in a heartbeat!

              • LOL…I think right now we’re witnessing enough fighting to last us a lifetime, Kimberly…It’s all good here. But I’m like you, I stand up when there’s a need to…🙋🏻‍♀️
