Good Morning, Everyone. I hope this finds you well…
🏀 KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE…VANILLA, CHOCOLATE AND STRAWBERRY! 🏀
🎶 The very thought of you makes my heart sing like an April breeze on the wings of spring…And you appear in all your splendor…my ONE AND ONLY love..🎶..”My One and Only Love” – Mr Frank Sinatra 1953 https://tinyurl.com/yddkjjt4
🏀I guess there was no YIELD to pressure for these little ones,
Reacting such as this when they were only one and done…
The opportunity’s WINDOW must have been locked up real tight,
But they did their best, did not give up…and there the coach was right…
So for little Jane and TOPAZ and the others on the team,
There was no bee in a BONNET, no use chasing first place dreams…
They still had fun, the camaraderie kept them far from lonely,
And now there’s ice cream to be had…they got their “WON” AND ONLY!🏀
So in keeping with what seems to be the GAME plan lately, we’ve once again been given just one old anagram this morning, LEYID, in PLAY last in 2020. But did I FALTER on any of our words today? Of COURT not, I’ve been PLAYING this GAME way too LONG to be SIDELINEd by words like these…I got them all in one fell HOOP! But in my DEFENSE, PLAYING “Giant Jumble Crosswords”, * and “Just Jumble” ** each day gives me a HOME COURT ADVANTAGE…They’re both very good tools in giving an ASSIST with word recognition…And the solve? It was a FAST BREAK out of the gate with this WON…Especially with those quotation marks…They ended the season FINALly having SCORED a win…even if it was their…..”WON” AND ONLY! A SLAM DUNK!
…And if you look closely at the eight children, the usual standard number on a youth team, you’ll see the Jumble “J” logo PRESSed onto their jerseys, as well as on the Coach’s polo…plus the little girl wearing #4 has one of Jeff’s favored daisies in her hair…But it would be a PERSONAL FOUL for anyone who didn’t PICK up on the jersey numbers displayed…1954, the year Jumble was first PLAYED…If it was any more obvious, it’d be like getting hit in the head with a BRICK!
So…There you have it Folks…Done! Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and…SHOOT!…For some strange reason all of a sudden I’m craving DUNKin’ Donuts..I think I’ll take FIVE and do some TRAVELING to get some…A good donut never FAILS to put a BOUNCE in my step! 🏀🙋🏻♀️
🌬 Listening to the ONE AND ONLY wind chime she owned YIELD to the breeze from the WINDOW, she donned her TOPAZ colored BONNET and set out to face the day…🌬
🔻The YIELD sign took a TOPAZ hue from the shadows of the sun,
And the big brim of her BONNET blocked the glare the rays had spun…
They shone through her car WINDOW, but they made her feel quite lonely,
She couldn’t shake the sadness since she lost her ONE AND ONLY …🔻
And good morning ! I loved the jumble ! The words came right to me and when I saw the cartoon and how proud the coach was of her teams first win , I knew that the words ONLY and WON had to be there , however I was guided off the court a little cause I was looking for the number One , but the quotations helped me make the basket ! I thought it was so clever and right-on ! So I’m trying to keep warm cause the weather is not winning at all , not even one ! So stay warm and healthy ! Jumble on !
👍🏻🙋🏻♀️
Great Jumble. I missed the 1954. Thanks Angela for always pointing out the gems. The “WON” was a blind solve, but the online Chicago Tribune version made the rest of the solution harder because they accidentally put “ANDONLY” together as one word. For songs, anyone remember “The One and Only”, shown during the opening credits of the movie Doc Hollywood with Michael J. Fox? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQRey3pwFUI It was the song that came to mind. The song was probably was a “WON” hit wonder for Chesney Hawkes. Have a great day!
“Won” And Only! I played on teams like that. Angela for the win today because I didn’t know that the Jumble began in 1954. Nothing too difficult today and that makes my coffee time very good indeed. Doc Hollywood was a great little movie. “Nice pig, doc.” Looking out my Window, I see a woman in a Topaz colored Bonnet waiting for traffic to Yield. Time to go to work with the song “One and Only” putting a giddyup in my step. Be good. Be happy. Be well.
Wishing you well too, OO…Have a good WON…🏀🙋🏻♀️
🏀 Little girls who hung on for the win,
Standing there with a grin after grin…
Yes they had a bad start,
But these kids…they had heart…
And they took every loss on the chin! 🏀
👏🏻 Finally getting a win for the team,
We see eight little girls all abeam…
Yes it might be the first,
But it could have been ‘worst’…
So to them this win’s more than it seems! 👏🏻
🍦With a Coach whose encouragement reigned,
And belief in her girls never waned…
Now it’s time for her team,
To enjoy the ice cream…
‘Cause that coveted win’s finally gained! 🍦
Easy Blind Solve puzzle this morning, followed by quickly unscrambled anagrams….adding to this joyous occasion was a Frank Sinatra Classic. What could anyone else want on a Thursday morning ??? Had to go back and look at puzzle to see where the 1954 came from. Wow, there are some real eagle eyes out there. See you on Friday
👍🏻🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. Repeat of Jim and still no blind solve. Enjoyed you song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. And wishing you the same. 🏀🙋🏻♀️
Anagrams and the first word, won, went quickly, but I thought the 2nd word was day rather than and,so I was stumped.
👍🏻🙋🏻♀️
This ole lady GOT it yea EL
Way to go, Eleanor..🙋🏻♀️
Cute puzzle this morning. Anagrams and cartoon answer were a slam dunk. Wishing all of you a good day, and yes, I’ll have a piece of that chocolate cake. 🍫 🎂
Enjoy, Betty!!🙋🏻♀️
I check the National Calendar most days…Which explains how I didn’t realize that today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. My apologies. It’s a much more important day to reflect upon than one celebrating chocolate cake. I want to honor the innocent lives lost, and offer my respect to those who survived the atrocities. May we never forget. 🙏🏻
