  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…

🎱 STICK WITH ME, FOLKS…I’LL CUE YOU IN! 🎱

    🎶 Pee-racticality dee-oesn’t interest me…Love the life that I lead…I’ve got a POCKETful of miracles…And with a POCKETful of miracles…One little miracle a day is all I need…🎶 “Pocketful of Miracles” – Frank Sinatra 1961 https://tinyurl.com/bdm9mf7x

🎱 The table’s looking brand new, and these guys are definitely buoyed,
But push to shove if you ask me, they’re acting kind of screwy!
I can’t ATTEST to what they feel, but they sure are excited,
What shape was it in before this? I guess totally blighted…
(I’m shelving GAVEL, HELIUM too…they’re sticking in my craw,
And I’m hoping a FOYER lies somewhere Jeff didn’t draw)
But anyway, they need calm down…or neither will shoot straight…
A foul or two, the tune will change…and then? ‘Scratch’ IT FELT GREAT! 🎱

Today’s puzzle gives us three new anagrams to PLAY with, with only VALGE having been seen before…many times in fact. It first appeared wayyyyy back in 1961, and has had a good RUN through the 70s, 80s, 90s ending with 2005. It’s definitely RACKED UP some numbers! But it, along with the others, didn’t pose any problems…it was straight SHOOTING all the way. The solve? As long as you’re familiar with the surface of a pool table you easily FELT your way aROUND this one. No other CUEs were needed! And if you aren’t, and couldn’t SCRATCH the surface right off the bat? Well, I hope you decided to STICK with it anyway…It’s always a BALL just PLAYING…Ok, time to BREAK away from this and get to our cartoon…

A pool room. An old time one by the looks of the pull string neon “Pool” sign in the window. And our characters today are far from being in a FOUL mood. The proprietor seems to have turned the TABLES on them, and newly covered the one they’re about to play on with some fresh FELT. And from their reaction, it’s a major STROKE of luck! One can only imagine what the table looked like before…probably had a ton of HOLES in its surface…But anyway, from the way they’re rubbing aROUND the table’s head spot…let’s hope they don’t SCRATCH it…And just CHALK IT UP to the fact that IT FELT GREAT…

So, There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a GREAT day. Be well, stay safe…and I think I’ll SCRATCH what I had planned for the rest of the morning…and just take a BREAK…🎱🙋🏻‍♀️

And there’s an image on the cap, that despite it looking familiar, I can’t put my finger on. So if anyone out there can identify it, please feel free to let me know…🧢 🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 👨🏻‍⚖️ The Judge banged the GAVEL down in anger, when the court clerk told him that there were people in the FOYER who were popping HELIUM balloons and had told him that they’d ATTEST to the fact that IT FELT GREAT…👨🏻‍⚖️

🎈 He stood outside the FOYER, HELIUM balloons in hand,
And sucked some in to change his voice, and thought he sounded grand…
Someone told him, “I do ATTEST, that you sound like a fool,
I wish I had a GAVEL, ‘cause I’d use it as a tool
I’d smash the balloons so you’d quit this need you cannot sate…
To keep doing this foolish thing just because IT FELT GREAT”! 🎈

  3. Omg ! The snow was so bad it stranded us in the house so we did the jumble for today ! Oh yea ! It’s Taco Tuesday ! It’s back ! Well , since we’ve had a pool table for 20 years and we played all the time , this jumble was home to us . The words were snow-bound easy ! When we saw the letters , the first word that broke the rack was FELT , which I did ! So , I had stripes and Suzie had solids and she knocked all hers in first , then hit the eight-ball and won ! And she said IT FELT GREAT ! We were so happy that we went and got Tacos on Tuesday and we didn’t even scratch ! Have a great Taco Tuesday everyone ! And that’s my break !

  4. No pool table in this home….although I know it’s covered in FELT, so an easy blind solve this morning; the only thing hindering me was a pause over ATTEST. So now on to Wordle !!!

Always like to give credit to a couple of my favorite composers….Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn…for that wonderful melody/lyrics to Angela’s song choice today.

  5. Had a pool table at home growing up…so the cartoon was easy. But I was slowed down because I had initially thought the word was ESTATE instead of ATTEST, so I was missing a couple T’s. Had to go back and figure out what I did wrong, so I had the letters needed for IT FELT GREAT. Happy Taco Tuesday!

  6. Easy exercise today. I immediately thought of the Music Man and “Ya Got Trouble!” Right here in River City. Trouble with a capital “T” And that rhymes with “P” and that stands for pool! Temperarture touching 50 today in this river city and then cold, colder and coldest. Until tomorrow.

  7. Good morning. Got stumped on Helium. First time in over a week that I missed a word. Oh well, tomorrow starts anew. The cartoon answer was easy but still no blind solve. Great tie-in with your song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  8. 🎱 So these guys really took to this table,
Acting like the felt top might be sable…
    Their excitement unmatched,
    But I’m thinking a scratch…
If emotion in check they’re not able! 🎱

🤷🏻‍♂️ Playing pool and looking for a win,
Our guys right now just stand ‘round and grin…
    They’re so loving the felt,
Worth its weight in the gelt…
Hope they calm down before play begins! 🤷🏻‍♂️

🎱 Looks like the owner definitely knew,
That the guys would act as if on cue…
So he spruced up a bit,
And it proved quite the hit…
For the felt’s mesmerizing these two! 🎱

🤷🏻‍♂️ See our guys so excited and all,
Looks like their happiness knows no pall…
    Standing there just to feel,
    The new felt’s soft appeal…
Here’s to no getting ‘hind the eight ball! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  9. Helium stumped me as well. Then foyer looked like for-ey, but needing the R for great, that was corrected and the cartoon was a quick solution.

  10. I’m using baize, another word for pool table felt.

If pool players you want to amaze
Then be sure to upgrade the baize
    When potting the ball
    – And they want to pot all-
You will find that it definitely pays!

Still more snow to shovel after yesterday’s mammoth storm, so it’s outside for me now.
