Good Morning, Everyone …⚡️OHM…NOW THIS ONE’S A JOULE! ⚡️
🎶 I love a rainy night, I love a rainy night….I love to hear the THUNDER..Watch the LIGHTNIN’ when it lights up the skies…You know it makes me feel good…🎶 “I Love a Rainy Night”…Eddie Rabbitt 1980: https://tinyurl.com/2p99m6vx
⚡️The Hoyts do love the outdoors, with them it’s not a QUIRK,
Nature related pastimes they enjoy when through with work…
Daisy might spot a GECKO, on one of their long hikes,
(I’ve wrestled with the SAILOR…until my blood pressure spiked…
There’s no way to INDUCT it here, at least not to my liking…
I’m leaving well enough alone…before I end up STRIKING)! ⚡️
It’s always a pleasure seeing David in our puzzles, but when the STRIKING Mrs Hoyt, Claire, is featured with him? Well that calls for THUNDERous applause!
So…Once again this morning we’re seeing all new anagrams…which is always exciting. But I wasn’t SHOCKed, because they were easily deciphered. What I do remember though is that SAILOR had rocked the boat in the past, so I’m curious to see if anyone STRIKES out today. As for the solve? With the leading NATURE of both the question and the dialogue? It was definitely easy to be enLIGHTened!
🎶Into the Woods🎶…and as you may recall, we were just here the other day… https://tinyurl.com/fb3p9ws4 But where Sunday we saw a family RUBbing, I mean ribbing the Dad, today we’re graced with one of our favorite “real life” couples…David and Claire. (Leave it to Jeff and his CAMP, right)? Sitting aMIST some fir trees, he in a CAMP chair, she on a tree stump, with a fire burning nearby, we see them watching a far off storm taking place, with Claire is capturing the sights and sounds on a tripod-held cell phone, and David comforting the beloved Miss Daisy Dog. And while the thunder didn’t exactly take them by STORM, the lightning definitely STRUCK another chord…There was no RESISTING that Lightning…it was STRIKING! Good one, David…especially in LIGHT of how erratic the weather’s been CURRENTly!
So…There you have it Folks…Done! Have a good one…Be well, stay safe and keep in mind that you need always be careful when it comes to lightning…It just never knows how to CONDUCT itself! ⚡️🙋🏻♀️
The puzzle of November 8th, 2015: The question: “THE HANDSOME BOWLER WAS”…The solve: STRIKING! https://tinyurl.com/mwp6czt6
As an avid former bowler,I love that ‘striking’ reference
🦎 The STRIKING SAILOR, waiting to help INDUCT the new recruits, thought it quite a QUIRK when he spotted a GECKO on stage…🦎
🤦🏻♀️ Today’s the day they will INDUCT her son into the Scouts,
And it’s something of course that she is very proud about…
The only thing, she’s not sold on is what he’s asked her for,
A GECKO as a small reward …another QUIRK du jour…
He wants to name it SAILOR, says he’ll take the reptile hiking…
This kid’ll be the death of her…she prays she goes down STRIKING! 🤦🏻♀️
⚡️Claire and David just love the outdoors,
Whether hiking or snacking on s’mores…
And this night ‘midst a storm,
They sit cozy and warm…
While the thunder and lightning it roars…⚡️
💦Whether hiking or walking a trail,
Mother Nature they definitely hail…
We see David and Claire,
With their Daisy, so dear…
Watching thunder and lightning a flail! 💦
🐕 O’er the mountaintops a storm’s a brew,
And there watching, enjoying the view…
Sits David and his wife,
Nature’s part of their life…
And Miss Daisy Dog enjoys it too! 🐕
Oddly GECKO slowed my roll. Nevertheless I got all the anagrams and found the solution easy. As Angela always says: read the dialog!
👍🏻 Sage advice! 🙋🏻♀️
It’s the weekend ! The words were fairly easy , had a little bit of a ship problem with SAILOR, but I got it ! I slivered through it like a GECKO , kind of my QUIRK I have . So I couldn’t get Queen out of my head , they were an INDUCT into the rock and roll hall of fame in Cleveland Ohio where I live near , and so 🎵 thunder bolts and lightning, very , very frightening me 🎵 Galileo Galileo 🎵 have a great STRIKING a weekend !!!
Same to you, Jim! ⚡️🙋🏻♀️
Today is NATIONAL JOYGERM DAY, a not widely-known day which reminds people across the country that by being positive and treating others with kindness, we can influence those around us to pass on a positive attitude. Let’s take time today to smile, to laugh, to be kind, and to inspire…and let’s spread the one type of germ that is good for everyone to catch! OJYNE! ❤️ 🙋🏻♀️
Pretty easy week to start the New Year! The words came fairly easy today, and once I took the -ING letters out of the cartoon solution, the word STRIKING came easy. And I learned a few things this week. Didn’t know there was such as a thing as NATIONAL JOYGERM DAY….thanks Angela! And earlier in the week, learned that a TUSKED AFRICAN SWINE is a WARTHOG! Tomorrow is NATIONAL STATIC ELECTRICITY DAY, so maybe today’s Jumble came a Day Early! Have a great weekend.
YW, Brad. And I think we’ve all learned a thing or two from playing the Jumble here over the years. As for the puzzles so far…easy, yes…but very clever…Have a good one, Brad. ⚡️🙋🏻♀️
I just read an article that suggested WARTHOGs are very tasty to eat. The people that wrote the article questioned hunters in various countries about which animals they prefer to hunt. Hunters in different countries prefer herbivores that have varied diets, as it adds flavor to the meat. Carnivores don’t taste that good. In Tanzania, WARTHOGs were at the top of hunters preferences. Abundance of the animals didn’t explain hunter preferences.
Thank God I ate breakfast hours ago! 😱🙋🏻♀️
Following in BRADTX’s footsteps, will also comment about an easy start to the new year, with today’s blind solve added to my quiver. And so much information gleaned about JOYGERM day, though that seems more like a day to pontificate and celebrate over germs found in dirty places around the household….but what do I know?? Another great song choice…and so apropos here in Central Texas as it’s drizzling this morning.
And am passing along daughter’s new word game…WORDLE. See you tomorrow.
Tks, Terry. I always liked that song…And I like Wordle, too. It’s a thinker…Happy JOYGERM Day! Hope it’s a good one! 😉🙋🏻♀️
The answer came easily, but I had to back into Sailor, which I see has overtaken early leader Gecko. Like others, I never heard of JoyGerm Day, though I see it’s been around since 1981. Wishing all a great day.
Wishing you the same, Caroline. ⚡️🙋🏻♀️
Though thunder’s an ominous sound
When heard from your spot on the ground
Lightning’s the show
With its flash and its glow
One of nature’s ways to astound!
I don’t suppose we’ll get lightning here today in the frigid cold and brilliant blue sky. A good day to get outside, as there’s not much else to do – limited capacity in stores, indoor dining closed. A respite at least for students after online school this week and more next week.
Forgot about the gecko repeat anagram, but after solving that one, striking was an obvious blind quick solve.Temps finally positive and above zero but freezing rain in the forecast, yuck!
So I’m doing the Jumble and my wife is watching TV and I’m stuck on a word until a commercial for a certain insurance company comes on and, voila, it’s Gecko!
LOL! 🦎🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. Gecko and Sailor didn’t fool me this time, after a minute I was able to see passed my shortcomings when I missed those words. The cartoon answer came pretty easy after I set aside the ING. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Same to you, Paul ⚡️🙋🏻♀️
Easy puzzle this morning. “Sailor” has tripped me up in the past but not today. Always enjoy the cartoon when it’s personalized. I had never heard of Joygerm Day. Just looked it up and a woman from Syracuse, New York came up with the idea when she read that a couple from California offered to do other people’s worrying for them for a fee! 🤑. Seriously, those folks from California are a kooky bunch, obviously altruism is not their strong suit!.
