🦌 The pretty deer we see here, feels everything is great,
No MESSY situation, she’s quite happy in this state…
The area’s not DIRTY, accommodations neat,
Things close enough to not WEAKEN her legs or hurt her feet…
She doesn’t need to run around to places near and “fah”
Yes she is quite content here…local JARGON…def “Ayuh”
She’s glad she settled down here, in this state she’ll surely gain,
The comfort she was looking for…she loves her sweet “DOE-MAINE”! 🦌
I know it sounds weird, but whenever I hear the phrase, “I love the smell of…”, my mind automatically goes to Robert Duvall’s character, Captain Kilgore uttering the now iconic line..”I love the smell of napalm in the morning”, from “Apocalypse Now”. https://tinyurl.com/3hrr7rrk And yes, I realize that it in no way relates to this pretty, DOEcile setting, but I just can’t help it…it’s etched into my mind…Anyway…
Another day, another four old favorites. And another really old blast from the past in SYMSE… January 4th, 1955! Yep, you HERD me right…1955! And there’s RYDTI too, but that’s from 2019, so it kind of pales in comparison…But anyway, except for WEAKEN being taken for Awaken by 1 of the EBs…we all FAWNed ourselves getting them done in no time flat. And the solve? Well let’s just say that the boys couldn’t be any “happier than a clam at high tide”…If you catch my drift…
Ok…On to our MAINE attraction…We’ve had many a puzzle in the past where we visited this beautiful New England state, but since it has so many lighthouses, I’m not sure which one we’re visiting today…So I’m just going to COAST along with it. But if anyone does recognize the area, please feel free to enLIGHTen me. We can see our female deer, FAWNING over the smell of the ocean, and the beautiful view that her location’s affording her. She loves her home…And with the huge hint in our question, “New England’s largest STATE”… we definitely know that we’re in MAINE…And our DOE is just loving her “DOE-MAINE”.! Now how enDEERing is that?…And if you look real closely, way off on the Atlantic, you’ll see Jeff’s Signature Sinking Sailboat…Kind of a DOE brainer by now…
So…DEER you have it Folks, Done. Have a good one…Be well, stay safe…And here’s to us all DOEing some good today! 🦌🙋🏻♀️
I was counting down the seconds for midnight to start typing , you are fast cause I started typing that song , oh well it’s a good one ! It just so fits !!!! Have a nice day !!!
🛖 The DIRTY, MESSY cabin hardly lived up to its listing as a “Vacation DOMAIN” and did plenty to WEAKEN her resolve to stay, so borrowing from the kid’s JARGON, she said…”See ya later, Gator”…🛖
🗣 They both used different JARGON, for a lot of little words,
Where one was saying DIRTY, from the other…MESSY heard..
They both agreed on WEAKEN, and some other words kept same,
But it was odd since both of them were raised in one DOMAIN! 🗣
🎶 Doe…a deer , a female deer , Ray….a drop of golden sun , Me… a name , I call myself , 🎵 Fa….a long long way to run 🎶 !!! What an easy one today ! I didn’t Evan get my hands DIRTY !! That was the first deer-song JARGON that popped into my head !!! I could sing deer songs all day , but I don’t want to get too MESSY sand I don’t want to WEAKEN me Peaken !!! Everybody have a great Tuesday !!!
Wishing you a good one too, Jim. Enjoy! 🦌🙋🏻♀️
An early start teaching day for me today so no limerick. Later would likely be too late for all you early birds! Over to you Angela!
Have a good day, Helen! 🦌🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. A continuation of yesterday but easier. Not quite the blind solve though. Had Doe but had to look at the letters to come up with the second part. You nailed it again with your song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Brooklyn. Definitely an easy one…And thank you. Stay well and safe…and dry…💦☔️💦….and enjoy your day. 🦌🙋🏻♀️
As is my procedure, I looked at the puzzle cartoon before anything else….and it seems like I was on the correct wavelength this morning. Immediately thought of the word DOE…and continued with humming Angela’s song….and whoop-de-do, it worked. Added MAINE for the blind solve (while still humming…you just can’t get enough R & H melody/lyrics sometimes.) As I speedily unscrambled anagrams, stumbled just a moment on JARGON. I saw that an A and O was missing…so did a mini-back-in. Nice job Angela and you can say what you want, but they’re not composing like that anymore !!! When was the last time you left a B’way show humming a tune ?? Have a great Tuesday.
Good Morning, Terry. I solve the same way. Only I’m so stubborn, I refuse to cry Uncle. 😂😂 I stick with the cartoon until it comes to me…And today, the whole thing immediately revealed itself, with our question mentioning the largest New England state. Very clever, but way too much of a giveaway, IMHO. The song? Thanks, but TBT, I didn’t have much choice there! It chose itself! 😉 And while I do agree that we’ll never see the likes of R&H again in our lifetime, there are/were some pretty good musicals out there since their days. I’ve left theaters humming… And God, how I miss Broadway…😥 Hope you have a great Tuesday too, Terry…and I hope you’re doing well…Take care…🦌🙋🏻♀️
🦌See our doe she relaxes in bliss,
Loves the view and awakens sun-kissed…
Happiness doesn’t wane,
She loves living in Maine…
She’s endearing, our sweet little Miss! 🦌
🦌With the water and all the fir trees,
Our doe enjoys the cool ocean’s breeze…
She’s content where she lives,
Loving all that Maine gives…
And her life’s one of relaxing ease! 🦌
🦌With the lighthouse seen looming beyond,
Our girl DOE-rothy’s feeling so fond…
Of the home she did choose,
Where she lives sans the blues…
And to nature she gladly responds! 🦌
🦌While a doe’s often known as a dear,
From our puzzle it’s seeming quite clear…
That to settle in Maine,
Is to DOE-rothy’s gain…
Look how happy our doe does appear! 🦌
🦌With a view of which our doe can boast,
She’s just thrilled to live here on the coast…
Where she basks in the sun,
Maine is definitely the one…
State that she has learned to love the most! 🦌🙋🏻♀️
The hills are alive this morning with the sound of Jumble fans singing Angela’s spot on tune. No problem at all with a blind solve on the puzzle. And that brings us back to doe, doe, doe. A doe, a deer, a female deer, lives to nurture and take care of fawns. It is seen that the existence of fawns is difficult without the parenting of does. Does are social animals. They live together as herds. They travel in groups.
Stands to reason, OO. Where would any of us be without our Moms? I sometimes feel I’ll never get over the loss of mine…Anywayyyyyy…The song? As I told Terry, there really wasn’t much of a choice…but TBT? I don’t care much for the song at all. I never did…Or the movie for that matter. I’ve never seen it all the way through. Egads!!!…And God knows, I’ve been chastised about it over the years! 😉 But it is what it is🤷🏻♀️…So, I had to be a trooper this morning, and just bite the bullet! Can’t say I’m not a team player! 😂😂…Have a good one, OO…We’re in the midst of a Nor’easter here…hope you’re faring better…🦌🙋🏻♀️
Somehow, I was lacking the D for Doe,my mistake, even though I had solved the anagrams in no time, and the second word,Maine, as well.Just a Tuesday mess up.
Sorry to hear that, Professor..that must have been frustrating. But there’s always tomorrow! Hope your day’s going well. Take care. 🦌🙋🏻♀️
Easy solve for the anagrams. I saw DOE and the rest followed. A tricky answer. Love this one!
Rain, rain go away!!!
Until mañana
Christian
LOL…Until mañana is right! It’s brutal! And I loved this one too. Very cute and clever. Enjoy your day, Christian…Be well and stay safe out there…💦☔️🙋🏻♀️
Where’s Mike? Left similar comment last night, but it didn’t post or was erased. Miss his comments & insights.
Hi. I did reply to you y’day..I’m sorry you missed it…even though as a rule we usually don’t acknowledge anonymous comments. As I said y’day, Mike’s fine, he just has a lot on his plate right now, and can’t find the time that he would need to devote to the writing. I hope you get to see this, because as I mentioned, anonymous comments can often be deleted. Take care, and enjoy your day.
Thanks! I didn’t see yesterday’s reply. Charlie
You’re welcome, Charlie. Have a good night. 🙋🏻♀️
For some reason I saw weaken as awaken. Once I straightened that out Maiwn became Maine and all was well. Angela, apparently Christopher Plummer absolutely hated the role of Captain Von Trapp though he was good in the part. He and Julie Andrews got the giggles filming that scene in the gazebo. It you look closely, they are smirking while they are singing. I can only imagine the grief you have gotten over the years about not “loving’ that movie. I saw Maria Von Trapp interviewed once and she said there was no singing in that final scene – they were running for their lives. Wishing all of you a good day.
Hi Betty. My friend saw Awaken also…And I have to tell you that you gave me a laugh just now, because I have absolutely no idea what any of this means! I’ve never seen the movie…just little snippets here and there if I happened to walk in on someone else watching. But I take your word for it…I know you’d never steer me wrong.😉 And yes, I’ve definitely gotten my share of grief…thank God I’m tough! 😂 But for the record, I am a fan of Julie Andrews, she’s an elegant woman. Wishing you a good day too, Betty. And I hope you’re safe from the storms…🙋🏻♀️
Stay safe yourself, Miss Angela. It sounds like the East Coast is in for some heavy weather. We now know your vulnerability. If they ever want to get you to confess to anything they just have to make you watch the Sound of Music. For me, it’s that wretched “Cars For Kids” commercial.
LOL! They’d have to handcuff me and tie me down..although on second thought…!!! 😂😂
And the “Cars for Kids”…OMG! 😱 I’m gritting my teeth just thinking about it…it’s like Pavlov’s Theory!!! …And thanks, I’m just hoping the winds don’t come as strong as they’re predicting. That scares me…Jersey’s under State of Emergency, Long Island’s under State of Emergency..I’m here in the middle…not sure what’s going on…And I hate that they keep saying…”Our first Nor’easter of the Season”…Like we should get excited over something to look forward to… SMH! God help us! 🤦🏻♀️
I so know what you mean. After the deluge we had on Sunday the weather people keep saying “We need a lot more storms like this one before we’ll be out of the drought”. Seriously? Can’t we just have a whole lot more small storms! 😢
Exactly, Betty. They just get way too excited for my taste. I understand that it’s their job, but they seem to salivate over it. And the tone while they’re speaking…ominous! Granted, we do need to be kept informed, but sometimes I think they scare us more than anything else…WEATHER they mean to or not! ☔️🤷🏻♀️
