Jumble Answers for 09/21/2021

Happy Tuesday everyone! Love is a word that’s easy to say, but hard to describe. We all know it when we feel it though. The warm and fuzzy sensation you get when you’re with your partner, a sense of contentment and security, and a joy in your heart that makes you feel whole and complete. Before my wife and I tied the knot, our Pastor required us to take a marriage course to ensure we were ready for it. He described love as being like a piggy bank — you make positive deposits as often as you can, but have to be careful not to make too many withdrawals. Very sage advice!

All of today’s clue words were familiar old friends. Two of the scrambles were new, but we’ve definitely seen DLIFED and GLANOL before. None of them caused my heart to flutter. GLANOL did require a couple of extra blinks to come into view so it’ll be my pick for today’s hardest anagram.

Touching cartoon of Jumble Jeff and his wife Kathy taking a walk in a park. We last saw Kathy in a Jumble cartoon on 8/31, so some of you probably recognized her from before. The way Jeff lovingly drew himself staring deep into her eyes is what really touched me. Kathy was lost in his eyes too and it gave me the feeling that their special moment would go on forever. Jeff mentioned in his dialogue that they’ve been together 25 years, so is today their Silver Anniversary??? The logo on their shirts brought to mind Claddagh rings — with the heart representing true love, the crown for loyalty and them both holding hands representing their eternal friendship.

The final solve was an anagram consisting of 10-letters. With so many repeating letters, HAND was no trouble to spot. GO was right there for the finish and the solve was complete. Happy 25th to Jeff and Kathy if today is your special day. May your journey of love continue to be a great one! On to tomorrow! Until then, be well and enjoy the day. //Mike

  1. This was more of a Monday J than Monday’s J. No sweat getting the anagrams but a little longer for the solve. Still OK imho

  2. What a great day ! I got through the jumble not wasting a GALLON of time ! I walk about 5 to 6 miles a day and sometimes my wife walks with me and we automatically Go HAND in HAND ! I usually sing and one song that comes to mind is 🎼. Sing us a song you’re the PIANO man 🎶 sing a song tonight, cause we’re all in the mood for a melody and you’ve got us feeling all right 🎹 🎶 oh la dee da dee dee da 🎶 la dee da dee dee da. Da da 🎹
I always wanted to play the FIDDLE, but I’ll settle for the PIANO and harmonica . Goodnight everyone have a great day !!!

  3. Good Morning, Everyone! 🤝 SILVER – IDO 🤝

🎶 Oh please, say to me…you’ll let me be your man…And please, say to me you’ll let me hold your HAND…You’ll let me hold your HAND…I want to HOLD YOUR HAND..🎶 “I Want to Hold Your Hand” – The Beatles 1964 https://tinyurl.com/vdcu96m8 🤝🙋🏻‍♀️

    • I’m surprised you didn’t comment on my Billy Joel song Piano Man , and my walks with my wife Suzi Q , Hand in Hand , just wondering, have a good day !!

      • Hi Jim. When it’s not my day to post the Jumble, I usually try to not reply to comments that don’t mention my name, or aren’t personally directed to me. I don’t look to step on Mike’s toes. On my given days, I reply to every comment. So please, don’t feel slighted. I think it’s wonderful that you and your wife go walking together…As for the song, it goes without saying that it’s a good one…but my rule of thumb is that I choose a song that relates to the puzzle’s solve/theme…so for a moment there I wasn’t following your train of thought. Then I realized that you were going with one of the puzzle’s words…Piano. So again, please don’t feel slighted…Wishing you a good day too, Jim. Be well and stay safe out there…🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Hello Jumblers – I have an early start teaching day today so will not be able get going on my loonie limerick til later, probably too late as most of the posts are done by about noon, so will likely see you all tomorrow. Angela I’m sure you can fill the gap!

    • Hi Helen…🙋🏻‍♀️

👫🏻 So the man who loves his rock and roll,
And his beautiful wife take a stroll…
Jeff and Kathy – a walk,
Where they find time to talk…
      After 25 years…heart and soul…👫🏻

❤️ Years go by…with these two no ennui,
Still in love we see Jeff and Kathy…
      And together they stand,
Gone through life hand in hand…
Not the you, nor the me…but the we…❤️

👫🏻 The setting today is a park,
Where we see that there still is a spark…
      Jeff and his winsome wife,
      Sharing their love and life…
      25 years…what a great benchmark! 👫🏻

❤️ Hand in hand we see this happy pair,
Taking time out to ensure they share….
      Even just one sweet hour,
      Walking past that old tower…
Whose location is up in the air! ❤️

👫🏻 Jeff and Kathy we’re seeing today,
‘Long the path that’s been leading their way…
And we see Jeff has penned,
      Love that’s knowing no end…
Together their roman à clef! 👫🏻

      • Ok…So…I’m getting some feedback about my choice of “roman à clef” as the last line on my last limerick. Defined as “a novel in which real people or events appear with invented names”, I was going for Jeff “penning”, (ie) “drawing” a scenario of his and Kathy’s own personal Love Story…their own novel. I took the twist that although their names aren’t “invented”, the cartoon portrays a caricature of them. Plus, adding to the confusion, is the fact that the “clef” in roman à clef isn’t pronoun as clef, as in Jeff, it’s pronounced as klā, as in today and way…And now I’m beginning to feel like Queen Gertrude, Hamlet’s Mother! 🤦🏻‍♀️

  5. Hoping the ease of this Jumble will Go Hand in Hand with my workday. The cartoon even gave away the puzzle solve and all that was left was to guess Angela’s song choice, a good one. I won’t Fiddle around or noodle on my Piano because I’d drink a Gallon of coffee and for my kidney that’d be Harsh. And so it goes.

  6. Good morning. Monday continues. Easy words and easy cartoon answer. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  7. The last word GALLON is questionable. It has the anagram LOGLAN, which is an artificial language. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loglan If LOGLAN is used for word 4, then the cartoon clue could possibly be NO HOLD in HAND; but clearly they are holding hands. so maybe ON HOLD in HAND. Also I note there are two musical instruments in the words – FIDDLE and PIANO. Now I would like to see someone play the HARSH or play the GALLON. Also I note that the circled letters in order start with HAHNODD, as though someone named Hahn were odd. Maybe Otto Hahn who discovered nuclear fission, which could make things blow up. (Element 105 was originally hahnium, now is dubnium) But since we have FIDDLE as a word, the most likely Hahn is violinist Hilary Hahn. I don’t know what’s so odd about her.

  8. A blind Tuesday solve and anagrams solved speedily, like most of the jumblers out there…and I didn’t even have a problem with GALLON.

  9. Mike…Love?…Deposits? Withdrawals? All good…just be sure to always COUNT YOUR CHANGE! 😉 And the T-shirt graphic? Jeff’s used it as his profile picture on Facebook last year, and again this year, vibrantly colored in tribute to LGBT month…But chances are it may just symbolize the “King of Hearts”👑❤️🤷🏻‍♀️

  10. Thank you for the poem, Angela! And the shout out, Mike! Kathy and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at the beginning of the month. We don’t know how 25 years goes by so fast. The design on the shirts are a graphic I did to illustrate the title of Jeff Tweedy’s amazing album, Love Is The King, from last year. An album truly worth listening to if you like music. LAL HET SEBT!

    • YW, Jeff. And congratulations to you both. As for the passing of time? You know the old saying…”Time flies when you’re enjoying yourself”. .and I wish you many more wonderful years of enjoyment. Be well, stay safe…and AKTE RECA! ❤️🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Congratulations to the both of you, Jeff! I’ve mentioned several times before how cool it’s been to see you and the fam progressing through life via cartoons. It’s definitely a unique experience! Wishing you both many more years of happiness together.

  11. Anagrams were a snap, but even w the obvious visual clue,of the couple walking hand in hand,I was stumped in solving the cartoon. As far as the anagrams,I recalled, harsh as being a recent one.
