🎶 You OTTER be in pictures,…You’re wonderful to see…You OTTER be in pictures…Oh what a hit you would be!…🎶 “You Oughta Be in Pictures” – (with an apology to) Rudy Vallee 1934 https://tinyurl.com/d5m5zcw
🦦 Along the Texas Gulf Coast some Otters you can find,
But on a RANCH the hunters know…just put it out of mind,
You can’t ERUPT an Otters home, and think you’ll get a pelt
It’s not legal, no PROFIT there…look elsewhere for some gelt…
I’m not sure where we are today, but this guy’s on TV
Enjoying the attention…yes, it’s obvious you see…
He’s being asked about his coat, and we can see his pride
He’s number One, it’s quite a feat…and he stays warm inside…
(But once again we have a word the puzzle won’t endure…
I took a shot, but SEPTUM? Not today, and that’s “FUR” SURE)…🦦
Many of us have mentioned, on many an occasion, how much we’ve learned from these many Jumble puzzles. Well, maybe not from the puzzles per se, but from all the information that we dig up and put into these posts for you all. But it is our illustrious leader, Mr David Hoyt, staunch advocate for education, who gets the ball rolling. And in case you weren’t aware, David’s not just a lover of words, he also has a deep love of learning…and together with his wife, Claire Haasl, has founded the David L Hoyt Education Foundation… https://tinyurl.com/2wznfmw And why am I telling you all this? It’s because of today’s puzzle. Otters? Who knew? It’s just one more time that I’m OTTERly amazed at what we can learn by playing the Jumble. Because when I went to “verify” 😉 this “densest coat” thing…I came across fascinating information that I just never knew…So, here are some Sea Otter Fun Facts https://tinyurl.com/4rvsfxh2 for you to enjoy…
So, there was no need to sugarCOAT anything when it came to our words this morning. All repeats. And easily unscrambled. And if it wasn’t FUR SEPTUM, the only DEVIATION from the group, it would all have gone SWIMmingly. But that word kind of SPLIT the group…understandably so, considering that it’s not a word you see in print all that often…But the solve? No need to WEASEL out of it…they FLOATED through it easily…FUR SURE!
Ok…Perhaps in Alaska, today we see our Man of the Scour, Harry OTTER, being interviewed while leisurely lying down on the job. But I’m not sure if the Reporter, her cameraman, and the OTTER guy are based on actual people…Although It does put me in mind of a show that’s been airing on the ABC channel since June, “When Nature Calls With Helen Mirren” https://tinyurl.com/4e5f2jbw but I think I’d be UP THE RIVER without a paddle to make that call. Anyway, Harry’s answer to WEATHER or not he likes having the densest coat of all his peers? “FUR” SURE” He saves money on blankets…and he SEAS it as a blessing…
Jeff’s Gems? It’s a great cartoon…I like the Cameraman doing that Michael Jordan thing with his tongue, and you can see that he’s wearing knee pads. The knee of the Reporter’s jeans being torn is definitely on point, since distressed jeans are very trendy now…But aside from that, there isn’t any OTTER thing that caught my eye…
So, There you have it Folks, Done. Wishing you all a wonderful day…Be well, stay safe…And FUR sure, be kind to your significant OTTER today…🦦🙋🏻♀️
The puzzle of 07/08/2014: The question – “When he asked her if she wanted a new mink coat, she said…” The solve? “FUR SURE”!
🤷🏻♂️ One day at the RANCH, a fight was about to ERUPT over the body’s SEPTUM, when Tom thought Dick was crazy saying that it separated the left and right sides of the heart…but then Harry intervened proclaiming…”FOR SURE no one’s gonna PROFIT from this”…🤷🏻♂️
🐎 He grew up riding horses, he lived out on the RANCH,
But one day he was thrown real far…and landed on a branch…
The blood then started to ERUPT, his SEPTUM deviated,
And in the ER, he just sat…and for two hours waited…
Suffice to say no PROFIT had, his face…a new contour…
But asked if he’d still ride a horse? He nodded…”Yep, FOR SURE”! 🐎
Not so hard this day. Tomorrow is sneaking up. Be ready!
Not to worry…it’ll be fine! 😉🦦🙋🏻♀️
I was able to blind solve the cartoon, but septum completely stumped me.
I don’t think you’ll be alone today, Don. The solve was an easy one, but Septum isn’t a word seen all that often. Thanks for commenting, and I hope we get to hear from you again. Have a good one! 🦦🙋🏻♀️
😎
👍🏻🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. I had the same results as Don this morning. You really dug deep to come up with that song choice. Just a tad before my time but always love going back and hearing from people we seldom remember. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Paul. LOL! Wayyyy before my time, but it just seemed to fit. You know how it is…a song starts FLOATING around in your head…and it’s curtains! As for Septum? When we saw it last, in July 2020, it did its share of damage then too…Just one of those quintessential stumpers, I guess. Have a good one, Paul…Be well, stay safe…and fingers crossed Henri treats us kindly! 🦦🙋🏻♀️
It was otterly cool to behold,
Swimming lazily in water so cold.
Lapping up the attention
The otter did mention
“My fur is the thickest all told!”
Hi Helen…
🦦 We’re seeing the otter afloat,
Being noted for the densest coat…
He’s basking in glory,
While telling his story…
As he’s def earned a reason to gloat! 🦦
Well done Angela. Uncannily similar!
Same to you, Helen. And yes, they are! 👍🏻🦦🙋🏻♀️
Very cute drawing and answer! I was able to get Fur and the rest from the letters I had. Then I backed into Septum, which still wasn’t easy. Wishing all a good day.
Good Morning, Caroline. I thought so too…As for Septum? It’s looking like a landSLIDE! Wishing you a good day too, Caroline…Be well and stay safe out there…🦦🙋🏻♀️
So much to discuss today….maybe even rant about SEPTUM !!! Easy blind solve and then a few (maybe even more than a few) grueling minutes on ERUPT and SEPTUM….and like other’s had to back it in knowing the S and U were there. Which reminds me of Jumble word solving techniques. For dividing syllables, is the letter combo 2-4, 4-2, or 3-3. That’s what made SEPTUM kind of difficult today. But of course, my mind maybe wasn’t on the puzzle itself…I was quietly wondering how Angela was gonna get a song OTTER that cartoon.Well done, young lady (and yes, a stretch) On to Sunday
ROTFL!! Guilty as charged! I distracted you! 😂😂 Thank you..and yes, a stretch…but a fun one, no? Rudy Vallee? I questioned myself for a moment!!!…Only I really didn’t think Septum would be this much of a killer…A tough one, granted, but I didn’t think it would annihilate! And as for DIVIDING syllables? It’s a toss-up Terry…Whatever FLOATS 😉 your boat! Enjoy your day, Terry. Be well and stay safe…🦦🙋🏻♀️
I first saw septum as sputum but ended up with too many “u”s so had to have a second look after solving the cartoon answer which was a given. I’m hoping all you East Coast Jumblers are no in harms way with the approaching hurricane. Stay Safe!
Tk you, Betty. I’m hoping so too. 🙏🏻. Have a good one…🦦🙋🏻♀️
I see that I’m not the only one who had a problem with SEPTUM. Everything else was very easy…. Fur sure!!!
A happy Yankee fan

No, Christian…You’re definitely in good company! And yes, FUR SURE an easy solve today! Have a good one…Be well and stay safe. 🦦🙋🏻♀️
Daisy Dog and I made you a quick video.
Bacon? Who can blame her? Always a pleasure to see you, David…and Miss Daisy Dog as well. Thank you for stopping by and giving us a Shout Out…It’s deeply appreciated…And we love what we do here too! Be well, stay safe…and thank you for all you do. 🦦🙋🏻♀️
Thanks for dropping by, David. It’s always fun getting to see you and Miss Daisy! Hope all is well out in WA. 🙂
Septum and erupt got me,I thought erupt was puter. So even after looking up septum which also stumped me I didn’t have enough vowels to solve the cartoon.
You weren’t alone, Professor. Septum caught almost everyone…🦦🙋🏻♀️
