When I first saw today’s puzzle, it gave me a strong sense of déjà vu. I remembered one particular Lollipop puzzle that we’d had in the past, so I went searching…and I found it. Anyway, it wasn’t just the cartoon that rang a bell. It was the solve, too. Which by the way, was a piece of cake. Hmm…Are you sensing a pattern here? Sweets running amok? Well anyway, we’ve had solutions of Sweet Spot, and Spots, Sweet Dreams, Short and Sweet, and of course, a Piece of Cake. But I didn’t find our exact solve in the Archives. What I did find though was a puzzle from May 1st, 2016, where the solve was “TAKE HER SWEET TIME” …So close, but it didn’t perfectly fit the MOLD…Ok, enough TIME spent on this…let’s move on to our words…
So…Once again today, David’s given us words that are all Sweet Repeats. But it looks like our anagrams are brand spanking new. And when the Early Birds went to sink their TEETH into them, there was no need to BRACE themselves…Easy, breezy, and done… LICKety-Split!
Ok…Today we’re seeing a sweet young girl and her Grandparents. I thought at first that we might be at the aftermath of her birthday party, going by the Grandfather’s dialogue, and that the Lollipop was a birthday gift…but there’s a bed behind her, and she’s dressed in a nightgown and slippers, so that idea didn’t STICK. Plus the Grandmother saying that “she takes exactly 100 licks a day”, makes it obvious that some TIME has gone by. But the message here today is that the way she’s going about licking that lollipop, having her SWEETS…at a particular TIME each day…it’s going to take forever to finish…because she’s taking all …HER SWEET TIME! And I ask you, Folks…CANDY solves of David’s get any better? No, I don’t think they CANE….
Jeff’s Gems? Besides the cat emulating the little girl by licking its paws in sync, I have to POINT out the Unicorn poster hanging on the wall. It’s sweet…
