    🚗 WAXING POETIC…HAPPY FATHER’S DAY…🚗

    ☀️ This BANNER day grows HOTTER, and we see our pair outdoors,
    They’re washing and they’re waxing, the kid SAVIOR more and more…
    A big help to his Dad he is, where GOPHER he once was,
    Just getting things, but all that’s changed…the reason is because…
    His Dad’s lessons, they’ve SUNKEN in, IRONIC now we see,
    How Jr’s become adroit, doing great with that shammy…
    And Dad and Son are bonding, time and love are def entwined…
    We see a Father, proudly stand ‘long side his BRIGHT “SON-SHINE”! ☀️

    I’m sure we can agree that we all take a SHINE to Family-themed Jumble Puzzles…And today is no exception. So, in honor of Father’s Day, and all the Fathers and Father figures out there…Here you go…Enjoy!

    In another repeat of last Sunday, our 6×6 are nothing new. And with what appears to be all new anagrams, there were two words that caused two of the Early Birds to slightly blink…BANNER was taken as Barren…leaving one of them feeling empty, and with SAVIOR, another one of them swore that it had a “U” in it…and therefore before he saved himself from embarrassment, he thought for sure that he was being HOSED…But both of them quickly BRUSHed it off…As for the solve? They all POLISHED it off in no time FLAT…And there were no KINKS to speak of…They’re definitely a BRIGHT group of guys…

    Today’s cartoon brings us to a driveway in suburban America, where we see a Father and son bonding over washing and waxing the family car…And SCOURING the cartoon, as one must do, we find two GLARING hints in the dialogue…One, spoken by the SON “I can see my own reflection”, as he SHINES the car, and the other uttered proudly by the Father…”Chip off the old block”…PAIRing that with the SUN prominently shown emanating BRIGHT rays? And both Father and son wearing shades? Whoomp! There it is! There was BRIGHT “SON-SHINE”! WATER you know?

    And Jeff, not known to SPONGE off others for ideas, has once again given us an original bit of graphic delight. We see a bucket of soapy water overflowing, with a dripping hose by its side. The back of the car shows the reflection of the aforementioned sun shining upon it…while across the street a couch can be see through the large front window…SOFA, so good. But it’s the Father reaching out his hand to pat his son on the back that DROVE it home for me. Definitely a nice TOUCH…

  3. 🦫 As the day grew increasingly HOTTER, he realized that this would definitely not be a BANNER day for him…stuck out in the BRIGHT SUNSHINE, regretting acting like the SAVIOR by promising to trap the burrowing GOPHER for his neighbors…and he thought how IRONIC that he had such a SUNKEN feeling…🦫

    🙇🏻‍♂️ His nickname was the GOPHER, but it has him on the brink,
    It really was IRONIC though, ‘cause sometimes he would sink…
    Down into such a SUNKEN hole, while fetching this and that,
    He may well wear a BANNER stating he’s the main Mall rat…
    HOTTER under the collar, as he tried hard not to waiver,
    He was so beat, in dire need of some kind of a SAVIOR…
    This Gopher name they put on him? He feels more like a swine…
    He needs out of this stuffy Mall…into the BRIGHT SUNSHINE…🙇🏻‍♂️

  4. Enjoyed a nice Father’s Day Jumble outing today….anagrams just tricky enough to not be pushovers…and an obvious SON in the puzzle cartoon. Waxing the car??? Gotta be SHINE there, too. Must admit to unscrambling anagrams to find BRIGHT.

  6. Good morning. Loved your song choice Angela but here my mind was cloudy and I failed miserably, I had a heck of a time with the last 3 words and failed to get Ironic. Then still in the clouds I gave up on the cartoon answer. To all the fathers out there have a great day. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  7. Very appropriate puzzle for today. Once I saw “bright”, son shine fell nicely into place. Wishing all the Dad,s Grandad, etc. out there a very Happy Fathers’ Day and a Happy Sunday to the rest of you.

  8. Hi all – I had to work a bit at this one, mostly to get SAVIOR and GOPHER. I got IRONIC with my trick of always trying IC as a suffix when it’s there.
    Then the father/son combo gave me “son-shine”, and the remaining letters showed BRIGHT. Not too bad for a Sunday puzzle.

      • Am I *that* predictable? (Answer – yes 😂) Just couldn’t fit the words into anything I liked (SAVIOR and GOPHER???) and the good wishes seemed to combine nicely into the happy summer wishes.

        • LOL! We’re all predictable to a certain extent, don’t you think? But besides, I just pay a lot of attention to you – so I pick up on these little things!!! 😂 😂 And yes, the words are a bit of a tough sell today. Anyway, Happy Summer Start to you, Steve…and Good Wishes! 😉🙋🏻‍♀️
