    🔈 Amar Bose had a vision, less a TUSSLE but insight,
    (I’m gonna dump MUTTON right here…it’s proven to be PLIGHT)…
    Bose toiled for perfect sound, a REMAKE here or there,
    And now just like a MAGPIE he’s chatting ‘bout his idea
    A group’s decided to ATTEND, to help with Bose’s fate…
    They’ll speak of him in honored tones…His speaker? THAT SOUNDS GREAT! 🔈

    Ok…Show of hands. Who upon first glance at the black and white version of our puzzle, thought you were seeing a ridiculously huge slice of pepperoni pizza? No? Nobody? Only me? Ok then…let’s just move on…

    So, our words. Of course there’s a chance that I’m way off BOSE here, and might just be speaking off the top of my head…but it looks like we may have a first this morning…Six old words, but all six with new anagrams. Doesn’t THAT SOUND GREAT? …Too soon? Sorry…I just couldn’t resist! And a great group of anagrams they are…The stumper? TBT? The Early Birds fared pretty well this morning…I mean I heard a few crazy guesses bouncing off the walls, but for the most part it, I don’t think it could have gone any tweeter for a Sunday puzzle…

Known as an academic, Bose, dissatisfied with a high-end stereo speaker system that he bought in 1956, went on to found his own company, so he could create the sound he was looking for. And even though the name may not resonate with you…chances are pretty good that at one time or another, you’ve heard a Bose speaker. A sound tweeter than wine! …And we can hear from the dialogue that they were definitely attuned to investing…So…the rest is history…which is all recorded above in the link I’ve given you…

    The gems? Amar is wearing a tie bar, which were popular items during the 60’s. And except for that speaker there’s really not much more to speak of. But the mustachioed man in glasses might be Bose’s MIT thesis advisor and professor, Y.W. Lee.

  4. 🐑 Invited to ATTEND the premier REMAKE of the MAGPIE movie, he was concerned with the dinner afterward…he’d never eaten MUTTON, and while wondering if his stomach would suffer PLIGHT to TUSSLE with it, someone asked if he’d rather have chicken…to which he happily replied…”THAT SOUNDS GREAT”! 🐑

    💇🏻‍♂️ His haircut with its MUTTON chops, to her it was a PLIGHT,
    A TUSSLE-looking MAGPIE nest, he really looked a fright…
    He def needed a REMAKE, to a stylist she’d him send,
    And told him she had had it…and insisted he ATTEND
    So looking in the mirror, then at her, he choose his fate…
    “A stylist, ok I’ll go”…And she said “THAT SOUNDS GREAT”! 💇🏻‍♂️

  5. Hi Everyone – I saw the pizza too, Angela. The words were harder for me than the answer again. I had to back into both Tussle and Magpie. Even with A and E for the blanks, I still had to jumble the letters many times to get Magpie. I don’t think we see the IE ending very often.

The pizza! 🍕I’m glad I’m not alone! 😂 I couldn’t wait to get my paper, to see what it looked like in color…And luckily, it does look like the pic in the link I included! 😂 That’s a good observation on the “ie”, Caroline. You always have the most perceptive pick-ups on the words. I saw “magpie” as is, so I never thought along your line. But I’m trying to think off the top of my head about “ie” ending words. I think we’ve had 6-letter words with it: Rookie, Cookie, Birdie?…but I’m not positive. I’m going to look. Hope your morning’s going well…and I’ll let you know what I find…🔈🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Hi Caroline. I did find the ones I mentioned: Rookie, Cookie, Birdie. We also had Bookie …and Potpie, a compound word like Magpie…and it was somewhat of a stumper. I think those compound words always cause a bit of a problem. I also found Movie…And it’s funny…there’s a few 5-letter words that immediately came to mind, that I thought we surely had, but I didn’t find them…(although I only did a quick search). But in case David’s reading us today?…He may want to look into that! 5-letter words ending in “ie”…😉Again, Caroline…good insight on the Magpie! 👏🏻👏🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. My usual problem w the Sunday puzzle,too many words w too many letters for me.Magpie got me,but after glancing at the cartoon solution and seeing “that” as a first word,the complete solution,” that sounds great” popped into my head.Enjoy your Sunday.

  7. Good puzzle this morning. I always do the anagrams first before trying to solve the cartoon answer but do glance at the cartoon picture and thought for sure it was a pepperoni pizza so was prepared for a food related solution. At any rate I saw “sounds” and the rest fell into place nicely. Wishing all of you a good Sunday.

  8. Good afternoon. Going to make this short as I have Family members here. In fact my daughter-in-law solved the cartoon for me. Took a little time but like yesterday when I went back to it the words they flowed rather easy to me. I was having trouble with the cartoon when my family arrived and setting the table for brunch she solved it for me. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  9. Hi all – This took me awhile because of MAGPIE. I saw IMAGE and A PIGMY, but had to back into it with the letters from the answer (which looked like THAT SOUNDS RIGHT, but the letters showed it was GREAT.) Also paused at MAKER, MARKER or MAKE ER before seeing RE as a prefix to REMAKE. Last, the UN trick didn’t work, but the double T’s gave MUTTON.

    At first glance, I thought the cartoon was a giant pepperoni pizza slice.
    (So there’s another vote, Angela! 😂) I also once had a tie-bar! (when I had ties! 😂)
