  1. This one has so many anagrams one could write a story about this guy using them. I’m wondering why he faced so many spikes when LOTS FACED NONE. He was an ASCENDENT FOOL for trying to go out that way. I think he was going to a COLONNADE FEST. He probably thought he could do anything in a vehicle with a symbol on it that DENOTES FALCON. Perhaps there should have been a sign coming up to this booth saying CAD FELONS, NOTE. you can’t go out this way. And not only did the first tire deflate in ONE SECOND FLAT, but the other one became one SECOND FLAT,

  2. Hi Jim. Good Morning. Just for the record, you do know that the object of the game is to answer the question, right? I mean it’s not Scrabble.😉..Just sayin’…But I do think that you hit the nail on the head with your closing line…One flat…second flat…That’s my take on it anyway…Have a good one, Jim. Be well and stay safe…🚘🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. I liked Jim’s comment that the second tire went flat in one second as well.As far as the anagrams, they went quickly, but the cartoon solution, except for “flat”, stumped me.

  4. Good morning. Got stumped on the cartoon answer. I couldn’t get two and tires out of the answer for which there wasn’t the letters for it. Once I saw the answer it clearly fit. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  5. Clever puzzle this morning. As always it was a good play on words. Off to a good start this Tuesday. Stay well all.

  6. My first blind guess for the answer was “one minute flat”, but after solving the words, there was no m. I quickly saw the answer was ONE SECOND FLAT. Overall, I found today’s puzzle to be very easy.

    • Hi Dennis. The use of SECOND instead of minute was done purposely to denote both tires going flat…It’s a great play on words. And yes, it’s as clever as it is easy. Be well, Dennis…and stay safe. 🚘🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. No problem until I got to the solution where all my tires went flat. I got ONE since THE wasn’t available. I don’t want to overthink these puzzles because they are just for fun! We have the cleanest air here in maybe 5-6 weeks and it is still dirty by most standards. New heat wave is here so hoping for little more fire/arson/homeless activity…..

  8. Hi all – No problem with the words, but for a minute I thought I was going to have to give up on the answer. With “hurry” and “fast” in the dialog, I thought TIME would be in the answer, but the letters were wrong. Then I saw FAST in the letters, but figured it wouldn’t be in both the dialog and the answer. Finally saw FLAT in there, which led to SECONDS and then ONE SECOND.

I thought it was a more subtle pun than usual that no only did the tires deflate quickly, but that there was not just one, but also a SECOND FLAT. Glad to hear that others saw it also. I also liked the detail of the classic fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“Since plastic bottles hadn’t been invented, Tom and Maggie Tulliver had to use CANNED LOTION to remove the excess FLOSS which would EXUDE from the fabric their mill produced.” (Yes, of course I used Wikipedia to look up FLOSS and “Mill on the Floss.” That was one “olde English” book I managed to avoid in high school.)

  9. Your final assessment of the final word is wrong..not..EDEFOOSLTOCA….Correct answer is..EDEFOSLTOLCANN(13)numbers..

  10. Good Afternoon, Everyone. I hope this finds you well…🚘🙋🏻‍♀️

🐛 Watching as the worms shed their FLOSS within the CANNED enclosure, the children hoped they wouldn’t EXUDE anything further, but when someone said that he thought he saw a LOTION-like substance..the general response from them all was to get out of there in ONE SECOND FLAT…🐛

🦷 He always used his dental FLOSS, so he got quite annoyed,
When hearing that old CANNED refrain on what he should avoid…
Not one to EXUDE friendliness…this dentist had no notion,
He stood and lectured all the while rubbing his hands with LOTION…
His mind made up he spoke his peace…reached for his coat and hat…
He bade the dentist farewell…and left in ONE SECOND FLAT 🦷

  11. 🍔 The guy with hair that looks like FLOSS, it’s spiky and it’s light,
He seems to EXUDE attitude that makes me want to bite…
I’m thinking Guy Fieri? But I’m really not quite sure,
“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” Guy?..he has the same allure…
Guy’s not as smooth as LOTION, he’s hyper as can be,
His CANNED response to many things can often be funny…
Like “This is Money” for a one…Guy likes to bandy that…
So is it him…Can someone answer in ONE SECOND FLAT? 🍔

The bald guy?..I’m at a way bigger FLOSS…I mean loss! 🤷🏻‍♀️

      • Maybe…but who’s the bald guy? 🤷🏻‍♀️I’ve never seen a complete show of Guys’…

        • Interesting. I’ve only seen Saul a couple of times, so my thought was of someone who also does food shows….. Thanks

          • Mig…I’m responsible for throwing you off. It wasn’t Guy Fieri at all, so the food show slant was a bust. And I’ve never seen “Saul”…I don’t know why…because I do like Jonathan Banks. 🙋🏻‍♀️

            • I like the actor who plays Saul but haven’t been able to get into the show. I definitely went down a alley on the food show stuff. One fact about food show hosts is they start out skinny but don’t stay that way………

              • Yep, like me. Just couldn’t wrap my head around it…But again, I’m the one who put the bug in your ear with the food shows, by trying to tag the driver as Fieri…so it’s not on your head…And as for the hosts? Sounds a lot like this Quarantine 15! I’m at the stage where I’m lying on the bed trying to close that top jeans button! 😂😂

              • I lost 100 pounds over 3 years or so. 20 of them returned during quarantine…..!!!

              • I hear ya…And with today being Nat’l Dessert Day…things aren’t t looking too good for me restricting the intake! I think it’s a sin if you don’t indulge today…I’d have to check with my priest…😉🙋🏻‍♀️

              • From The Chronicle’s (Brooklyn-born) film critic Mick La Salle:

“And the reason I can’t wear the shirts is because I bought “slim fit” and proceeded to gain 12 pounds while sheltering in place during this pandemic. My guess is I’d probably have better luck if I tried on the pants, except I don’t wear pants, anymore — not really. And forget about suits and sport jackets.
In lockdown, we keep learning things we didn’t know. Here’s one: When you wear sweatpants every day, it’s hard to know when you’re gaining weight. In normal times, if you go up a belt size, you notice. But elastic waistbands are wonderfully forgiving. Who knew?”

              • Thank God I didn’t go the sweatpants only route…I weighed my options early on…Sweats or “real” pants…I decided to just switch up…Of course some days went lighter than others…Bottom line? I‘ve definitely gained all new perspective! 😂🙋🏻‍♀️

              • LOL! One wishes…Unfortunately mine tended to choose the “middle ground” instead…hence the lying on the bed need! 😂🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Lucky for you…But they’re such delightfully, decadent dishes! I can never seem able to desert my dessert…🍰🍩🙋🏻‍♀️

  12. Ok…I think we’ve weighed in enough today on the subjects of “droves and dishes”…I’ll just wrap it all up…Enjoy your afternoon, Everyone! 🙋🏻‍♀️

🦅 Some gulls met on a sunny day, all scavenging for food
One having better luck with it…it made the others brood…
The male gull who was feasting thought …”Maybe it’s wise to share…
I might just find a GULL FRIEND…there’s some easy pickins’ here”!🦅
