Good morning. Today’s jumble was easy from beginning to end. I almost had a blind solve but had put down the letters before reading the cartoon. Now this one wasn’t in quotations but the answer was a keeper. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Everyone. I hope this finds you well…🙋🏻♀️
🐅 With all the HOOPLA surrounding the arrival of the TIGER, the Zoo‘s Administration decided not to TEMPT fate, and agreed that this wasn’t the time to LOOSEN restrictions…lest they come up A LITTLE SHORT as far as safety went…🐅
🤦🏻♀️ She loved her stuffed toy TIGER, and carried it all day
No other toy could TEMPT her to choose something else to play
But then her Mother washed it…and that’s when the HOOPLA brewed,
The left leg now did LOOSEN and it hung really askew….
Her husband asked her what she’d do now that she ruined the toy
She hemmed and hawed and tried to answer something sounding coy…
“I’ll sew it up to look the same, don’t worry”, her retort
He shook his head and said “Just hope you’re not A LITTLE SHORT! 🤦🏻♀️
Loosen started looking like saloon at first, then hoopla wasn’t looking like a real word. With Napolean in the cartoon,I was looking for Waterloo being part of the solution, but alas there was no w available .Given Napolean’s lack of height, short popped into mind prior to the quick overall solution.
Good Morning Professor…Always keep in mind that any word used as part of the Puzzles question, or is included in the dialogue, won’t be used in the Puzzles answer. That way you’d never have TOULOUSE 😉 any time solving…Be well, Prof…and stay safe out there…🙋🏻♀️
You’re obviously right about “Waterloo”, I somehow overlooked its inclusion in the cartoon itself,my error.
I am very busy this morning and short of time to play the jumble. Fortunately I finished it in little time.
Stay safe you all!
Christian
This was an easy one. Too easy
.
Must be a Monday puzzle, easy peasy. I was a little anxious with HOOPLA, wondering if it was a valid word. The last two words had double letters, rendering them tempting. Any time Napoleon appears SHORT may be part of the answer (similar to the Headless Horseman series where his HEAD is usually in the solution.
Weather is cooperating to an extent here in SoCal but several fires still rage on. A gender reveal party (Wha????) resulted in one of the bigger fires. Lots of people flocked to the beaches so in two weeks we will see what the hospitalization rate does to our stretched resources…. It was bad after Memorial Day. Somehow we just keep shooting ourselves in the foot.
Stay safe and have a good day!
Re: the gender reveal – Someone wrote “C’mon, people! Bake a cake or stuff a piñata or something!”
Easy one this morning. Agree with you, Mig about the gender reveal party – seriously?? How are you doing over in Oakland, Steve? The sky here is dark and orange. It seems more like 9:00 p.m. than 9:00 a.m. It is positively surreal. Wishing all of you a good day.
Yes Betty, it’s very weird. I talk about it in my post below. Even the guys on KCBS sounded astonished.
Hi all – No problems with anything in the puzzle today. LOOSEN looked like LESSON at first, but the double letter trick combined the O’s to get both that and HOOPLA.
Good wishes to everyone.
I really liked your poem about the stuffed toy, Angela, and I couldn’t help thinking of:
🎵”I don’t wanna be your tiger
Cause tigers play too rough
I don’t wanna be your lion
‘Cause lions ain’t the kind you love enough
I just wanna be your Teddy Bear”🎵
“The Big Cat trainer thought he needed to generate more HOOPLA for the circus, and he certainly did when he decided to TEMPT fate, enter the TIGER cage and LOOSEN the restraints.”
Another day, another weirdness. Our air quality is good, but there’s so much smoke high up that it’s blocking the sunlight. We’re used to some smoke and haze and even an orange sun, but it’s almost 10AM here and it looks as dark as pre-dawn – you need your headlights on to drive and lights on to read in the house. No one can remember seeing anything quite like this.
That, and interstate 5 closed in Southern Oregon and threatening Medford and the Rogue River Valley; again, I think that’s a first.
Tks Steve! 🐅🙋🏻♀️
I always thought “hoopla” started and ended with an “h.” My spelling came up a little short. 😂
