    💕 While on their Honeymoon, still under the euphoric SPELL of newly WEDDED BLISS, they strolled through the WINERY, enjoying the TASTY selections, and found it hard to SUBDUE their feelings of desire for one another…💕

    🍇 He started a small WINERY, creating TASTY blends,
    And found it hard to SUBDUE all the intrusion of friends…
    They felt too free to sample grapes…throughout the place they’d roam.
    With his impending nuptials he wished they’d all go home…
    He had to SPELL it out for them…“Guys, I am doing this…
    To gather enough money so I’ll live in WEDDED BLISS”! 🍇

  2. Good morning. A successful completion on both ends today. No problem with the words or cartoon answer. Seeing the “W” in the group of letters gave me Wetted Bliss within the first minute. Clever answer. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  3. Hi Everyone – All that came to mind for the answer was water so I was fortunate to find bliss. Agree that it was a really fun answer and drawing. I also got a kick out of kelp in the voting box.

  4. Excellent details in the cartoon this morning! My favorite was the cue card taking the place of the dialogue between characters.

      • You’re welcome, Caroline. This one got me thinking about the wedding proposal of a couple on a sailboat. Would you believe that that was almost 2 1/2 years ago already?! I wonder if either Jeff or David know how the couple, Aly and Paula, are doing?

I kind of don’t like answers in quotes ,but I did get wetted bliss after a brief pause for thoughts.The anagrams went fairly quickly,for a Thursday.It is Thursday isn’t it?Amidst the pandemic and Monday holiday,this week,it’s doubly hard to keep track of the days of the week..Have a safe and sane day.

    The solution largely escaped me until I looked at the letters.
    I too enjoyed the cue cards undersea.
    Nice enjoyable task today!
    Here in LaLa Land the air is so smoky I almost couldn’t go outside to retrieve the paper. Ordinarily this would be a warm sunny day; instead we have dismal dark disgusting air.
    Hang tight friends, tomorrow is another day!

  7. I was subdued by SUBDUE!!! At the end I came up with WITTED BLESS which made some sense but then I switched the vowels which then made more sense…WETTED BLISS!

  8. Hi all – No problem with the words today, and the cartoon made me think of the phrase that led to the answer pun.

    I couldn’t see it in my newspaper, but got a big laugh when I went online and saw the perennial sinking sailboat having finally sunk!

    Woke up this morning wondering what color the sky was going to be, and realized that was probably a thought I’d never had before. We seem to be back to a more “new normal” grey with some fog and overcast, but somewhat worse air quality than yesterday. Might even see the sun later today, though.
    Thanks for the good thoughts, Angela. I’m incredibly fortunate and grateful compared to so many others not all that far from here.

  9. Cute puzzle this morning. Thought subdue was especially well jumbled. Yesterday was the weirdest weather day I have ever experienced. The sky was orange and dark all day. It felt like we were living in an episode of The Twilight Zone. Then again this whole year has seemed like that. Stay safe all.

    • I was surprised yesterday to hear even the experienced meteorologists say what we did – “I’ve never seen anything like this.”

    At some the food was TASTY, at others ballrooms slick
    Some tried to cast a SPELL of sorts, with promises quite grand…
    But disillusion settled in…they thought…”Maybe not land”?
    They didn’t need a WINERY, they didn’t need the frills,
    Why not SUBDUE the chaos…and marry amidst the krills?
    They got out all their Scuba gear…tradition they’d dismiss
    And chose the ocean as the place they’d begin “WETTED” BLISS! 👰🏻 🤵🏻

  11. Thanks for the prayers, Angela – I too live in the SF Bay Area in Fremont. At least the HEAT broke. Today, it is cool and with the smoke above the clouds, it is pleasant. Loved the idea of an underwater wedding! Ann
