  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🦴 A DOG WITH A BONE…AND A BONE…AND A BONE 🦴

🎶 We are the CHOMPIONS, my friends…And we’ll keep on fighting ’til the end. We are the MCHOMPIONS….We are the CHOMPIONS…No time for LOSERS,,..’Cause we are the CHOMPIONS….Of the world…🎶.?”We Are the Champions” – (with apologies to) Queen 1977 https://tinyurl.com/94jrjvo

🦴 It’s funny how the mind works, how this cartoon sets in motion,
Wheels that adorned as if a HUBCAP helped create a notion…
An eating contest with some dogs, it may UPEND your thoughts,
And bring you back to last month…where the same puzzle we caught …
Well not exactly all the same…there we dealt with a man,
Who ate hot dogs instead of bones, no ONION in demand…
The METHOD all the same, in that it’s who can eat the most,
To win the contest without “paws”…to win the chance to boast…
The bottom line..it’s dog eat dog…you eat until one’s done
And here we find it’s Scout Top Dog, who they’ll crown “CHOMPION”! 🦴

So, what is it with these compound words that always seem to get our goat? That always seem to compound our difficulty with solving? And since five of the Early Birds had a BONE to pick with BHPAUC, I’m dubbing it the stomper this morning. The displeasure they had with it is just too hard to igGNAW…Our other words? Old favorites, with just NOONI
having been CHEWsen by David before, this past January. But enough of this TAILbaiting…let’s take a BITE out of our cartoon…

Ok…Who besides me had that old déjà vu feeling again today? Déjà you, a deaux? Let’s face it, Folks…by now you know how I get…that old DOG with a BONE thing…GNAWing at me. HOUNDing me… Eating contest? Hmm… WEIGH too familiar…So, I searched. And while I came up with a LITTER of Hot DOG related puzzles, this may be a first time we’re seeing Dogs overindulge. But as we’ve come to know, anything’s PAWsible in Jumbleland, right? And it was only last month that we had this TASTY morsel, https://tinyurl.com/yyy9opkx, a pretty close RUNNER UP…

OK…let’s concentrate on today. We’re at “Fido’s Famous Bone Bites”, just as they’re crowning a winner. And there’s a good chance that it’s sponsored by the “Famous Fido Rescue No Kill Advocacy Wellness & Learning Center”, located in Chicago. https://tinyurl.com/y2ubevf9, since we know that both Jeff and David are CHAMPIONS of rescue dogs. And it’s Scout who’s BOWLed the crowd over! His CHOMPetition? At left we may have Gizmo, a Top DOG in Jumbleland, coming in second, and at right the third place WEINER, making somewhat of a PAW showing…It looks like he really had a RUFF time…and just sort of ROLLED OVER…But there’s no mistaken who POUNDed the competition…Scout’s the “Good Boy”…to say the LEASH! He’s definitely our “CHOMPION”!

Eye candy? The “Good Boy” TAG is ingenious…I HOWLED! And the two runners up, with their tongues hanging out is PAWSitively adorable..BUTT I think I’ll go with the two dogs at left, wagging their tails enthusiastically…You can tell they really got a TREAT watching it all!

So, There you have it, Folks! Done. Have a good one…Be well, stay safe…And keep in mind…It may be a DOG EAT DOG world…but we can’t let it become rePUGnant. FURtunately, there’s always another chance to get a new LEASH on life. 🦴🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Sorry, this site is for the Jumble only. We don’t provide answers for Word Warp. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  2. 🌭 While he waited for his HUBCAP to be replaced, he decided to get a hot dog from the cart nearby, but losing his balance he fell onto it, and caused every ONION to UPEND…whereby the vendor asked…”Is there a METHOD to this madness…or are you just trying to be the Hot Dog CHOMPION of the day”? 🌭

🔠 As he corrected papers, he couldn’t help but think,
Why these kids couldn’t get it straight…why spelling made them sink
A simple word like ONION…their versions made him tear,
No pun intended either…it hurt what he saw here…
Just two of them got HUBCAP right, the rest added two “B’s”…
Should he adopt a METHOD new to teach spelling with ease?
The errors were just too much…he decided he was done
He bit off more than he could chew…yep…he’s the CHOMPION! 🔠

  3. I think you are right about Hubcap, Angela. I know I had no clue and had to back into it. Upend gave me some difficulty too. I tried the UN prefix, did some jumbling, and finally remembered the UP combination.
    Thinking of those in California.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. I think Hubcap will definitely blow the others out of the water today. Besides the combination, the anagram is masterfully done. And it’s rare that we have two words of the kind…Upend may do its share of damage too…And, yes, California. It’s heartbreaking. The news footage is too hard to watch. Prayers are sent their way. Be well and stay safe, Caroline. 🦴🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Thanks Caroline. Betty and I seem to be in a good spot except for the air quality, and the record-breaking heat is almost over. I’m thinking of my nephew in Denver where the temperature was 98 yesterday and is now 34 with freeze warnings and snow.

  4. I also tried the un trick before getting upend, then hubcap was giving me reason to pause. As far as the cartoon answer, words in quotes always give me trouble, but I saw the ion ending, which led to the “chomp-ion” ultimate solution.

    • Good Morning, Professor. It looks like the general consensus…Hubcap and Upend…And good job on the solve! Be well and stay safe, Prof. 🦴🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Good morning. Today was a Challenge for me especially with the two six letter words and the cartoon answer. Was a toss up as to the hardest, I went with the cartoon answer. When I finally got it I didn’t get that wow factor. Not everything in quotations is a home run. This one disappointed me. Loved the song choice. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Thanks, Brooklyn…Good Morning. It’s clever…but we know that doesn’t mean it’ll be everybody’s cup of tea…It’s only Tuesday…don’t give up the ship! 😉 Have a good one, Paul. Be well and stay safe out there. 🦴🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Angela just made me feel younger by announcing it is MONDAY! I was stumped by HUBCAP but got the other words and solution relatively easy. Cute cartoon too.
We in Cally know when it’s fire season–virtually year round these days. Keep your land cleared of brush, have an escape bag if told to evacuate and internet access to keep up with Jumble. The fire fighters are truly heroes!

  7. Is Mike still with us? I seldom read comments as some are too long, however, I have not seen any from Mike in quite awhile. I hope all is well with everyone.

    • Yes, Sue he definitely is. And he has commented here and there. He just decided to enjoy the summer with his family…Hope all is well and safe with you also. 🦴🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Hi, Sue!

My family and I are fine and I hope you and yours have been fortunate as well.

I was praying that the kids would go back to school so I could resume writing in the mornings but our district opted for the dreaded “virtual” school model instead. And it just so happens that today is the 1st day……

Give me a week or two to iron out the kinks, and if all goes well, I’ll slide right back into the groove.

      Keep Smiling!
      -M

  8. Like others hubcap was the anagram that took me the longest to solve this morning. It has tripped me up in the past as well. Was looking for something with ‘“UP” since it worked for upend. Another day of quotation marks. I thought chompion was rather clever. Though the fires are fairly well under control in the Bay Area, for the moment, the air quality has been very poor lately. The fog horns are blowing this morning so our natural AC is returning . Thank heavens!! Stay well all.

    • Hi Betty. You’re always in my thoughts. I hope things soon take a turn for the better…Be well and stay safe out there…🦴🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Hi all – Just when I thought I’d never ENDUP solving the first word, that gave me UPEND, after first trying UN together. (I also thought “PUNED” for a second because that’s what they usually do to create an answer, but decided that must be “PUNNED.” Then I tried several jumbles before recognizing that I’d been stuck on HUBCAP before and that it was a compound word. For the answer, I though he might be a WIENER dog, or that CHEWbacca might be a contestant. A quick glance at the letters showed the -PION and the pun followed.

    Good wishes to everyone.

Angela, the song got me thinking that a machine that used charged particles for fuel would CHOMP IONS.

“He didn’t have a wok at his campsite, but he got the beef and ONION stir-fry prepared when he thought to UPEND the traditional METHOD by using the HUBCAP he had found on the road in.”

    • Hi Bernice,
The best way to get the puzzle is by purchasing a subscription to your local newspaper. And I’m 100% sure David, Jeff and countless others would thank you for your support.
Alternatively, you can search for them online but they’re not always current.

      Good luck!
