  1. Good Morning, Everyone… 👞 THE SHOE MUST GO ON 👞

🎶 Girl, to be with you is my favorite thing, yeah…Uh huh…And I can’t wait til I see you again,….Yeah, yeah, ah ha ah ha…I want to put on my my my my my Boogie SHOES…Just to boogie with you, yeah…I want to put on my my my my my Boogie SHOES…just to boogie with you, uh huh…🎶 “Boogie Shoes” – KC and The Sunshine Band 1975 https://tinyurl.com/y8ovckme

👢A jaunty little black BERET paired with a pair of boots,
Have always made a statement…fashion-wise they’re def cahoots
And boots are mentioned here today, you can see our guy GLOAT
It is a cute pun he’s pulled off…keeping humor afloat
Bombarded with these orders, a joke can PACIFY,
These harried workers and make sure they laugh instead of cry…
Over their heads in footwear, at work they are entrenched,
So many orders must be filled…they’re sweated to a DRENCH
But work they will throughout the day…perhaps into the night
Corona’s kept the stores closed…but there’s orders LEFT AND RIGHT! 👢

New anagrams, old words…new shoes. And two co-workers who don’t TREAD lightly when it comes to puns. And for that matter, aren’t LOAFERS either…They’ve got big SHOES to fill with the new company’s opening, and due to them selling SOLEly on-line, they’re off to a RUNNING start. They’re PUMPed, putting their best FOOT forward…and taking orders…LEFT AND RIGHT!

Our cartoon? The name of our store? Cirque SOLÉ? It’s a GOOD FIT, RIGHT? I mean not much LEFT to the imagination…It’s an adorable pun…and you all know how we’d CHUCK it all for a good pun…and that’s no CROC! So to TIE it all up? This PAIR may just become SOLE mates, and end up TYING the KNOT…but that pony-tailed guy SLINGing that rack of shoes at BACK…with that disgruntled look on his face?…I’m SIZING him up…because he looks like some kind of HEEL, no? I hope not…only I can’t help thinking that he may be a cleft-TOE maniac. They better keep an eye on him…before he goes around stealing the FLIP-FLOPS…

So, There you have it, Folks…Done. And I’ll leave you with a little SHOE humor…A while back I went to a resort for the well-HEELed. It was called SANDALS. And on the table in our room, were these little cards that read…”I will HEEL you…I will save your SOLE…I will even DYE for you”… So I thought it was some sort of light-hearted take on a religious thing, RIGHT? Well it LEFT me laughing when it turned out the cards were just ads for the hotel’s SHOE REPAIR shop…I just couldn’t help thinking…what a bunch of SNEAKERS!…Wishing you all a great day…Be well, stay safe out there…and never admit deFEET! 👢👞🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤷🏻‍♀️ She didn’t mean to GLOAT, but looking LEFT AND RIGHT, she realized how well she looked in the BERET, so she tried to PACIFY the others, especially the one whose heavy woolen hat had left her in a DRENCH…🤷🏻‍♀️

🔧 He hated sweating like this…his body in a DRENCH,
He wondered should he nix it all…while reaching for the wrench…
Wanting to PACIFY her, he’s now looking like a goat…
He said he’d fix the leaky pipe…why did he have to GLOAT?
He stood up, grabbed his BERET…and decided to take flight…
Later he’ll face the music…and the questions LEFT AND RIGHT…🔧

  3. Very funny advertising for the shoe repair shop, Angela. No major problems today. PACIFY took me the longest, and once I found AND for the answer, it didn’t take too long to get the rest. It’s sad that Cirque du Soleil filed for bankruptcy protection this week and had to lay off almost everyone. I’ve never seen the show.
    Wishing all a great weekend.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. Tk you. Yes, it is sad about Cirque du Soleil, finding themselves a billion dollars in debt. I hope they‘ll be able to re-coup…it’s an amazing production. Hope you’re enjoying your day, Caroline. Be well and stay safe. 👢🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Good morning. No problem with the words but spent a lot of time on the cartoon answer. In line with Angela’s 70s song, I thought it was COOL when I finally came up with the answer. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. Yeah, a cool song for today. I felt that in light of all the terrible news we’re dealing with, we could all use a little something to get us to kick up our HEELS…The LEFT AND RIGHT? Once again, it’s a phrase I use all the time, so it just FIT in like a glove…Oh…wrong accessory there, huh? 😂 Have a good one, Paul. Be well and stay safe…👞🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. I had two problems this morning, first my papers were over an hour late ,not arriving until after 7:30, then when trying to do the puzzle online,I got the anagrams quickly, kind of recalling pacify and drench from recent puzzles, but I thought the 3 letter cartoon solution word was “the” rather than “and”,which threw me off from solving the rest of the cartoon.

    • Good Morning, Professor. I’m sorry you’re starting the day off on the wrong FOOT…😉 Pacify and Drench? Yes, pretty recent. November and February respectively…so good memory…And you’re right…once a word is stuck in your head it’s hard to get past it…Hoping your day brightens, Prof. Be well and stay safe…👞🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Hi all – I had good luck with the words today. My first thought for the answer was “Hand over fist” which might have worked for a glove company (I’ll have to remember to send this to Dan Marino and the Isotoner company this Christmas.) “Hand” didn’t work for anything, but after staring for awhile I was able to guess “Left and Right”.

“Cirque Solé” is a great pun, but Jeff couldn’t have known when he drew this that the real Cirque de Soleil would have filed for bankruptcy by the time it was printed.

That is a funny story Angela. Was it an ad for Gideons’ Shoe Repair?

    Good wishes to everyone.

“Nothing would PACIFY Pierre after seeing André GLOAT over the success of his plan to DRENCH his rival’s BERET with the old ‘Bucket of water balanced on top of the door’ trick.” (I guess I watched too many Saturday morning cartoons.)

    • Hey Steve…Cirque de Soleil? Jeff knowing? No, Caroline and I didn’t say he did…we were just lamenting over its situation. And anyway, I doubt very much that Jeff’s one to DRAW attention to someone’s demise…😉 And speaking of drawing, did you pick up on the 2 little discs drawn after the word Solé? With “Cirque” being defined as a ring or a circle? Another little pun to BOOT! ..But Gideons not a SHOE in for me…I’m gonna need a hint…🤷🏻‍♀️ Hoping your day’s going well, Steve…and that you’re staying safe out there…👞🙋🏻‍♀️

      • I didn’t think you were implying that Jeff knew it. (I write my summary before I read the comments, and only change it if something major doesn’t fit).

No, I didn’t know about the circle meaning, I only knew that it meant ‘circus’. Nice touch.

You found a religious-sounding ad for shoe repair in your hotel room instead of Gideons’ bible (and of course now “Rocky Raccoon” has been stuck in my head all morning.)

        • Oh, ok. That makes sense.. It was a little confusing…But the Gideon’s Bible? 👏🏻👏🏻Good one, and it went completely by me. Shows you how much time I’ve spent paying attention to the Bibles, huh? 😂😂 …And me too…Rocky’s in my head now! 🤦🏻‍♀️

      • I just wanted to add that the CEO of Cirque said he hopes the show will return in early 2021.

  7. Got off on the right foot today. Anagrams and cartoon answer fell into place without difficulty. Hope all of you have a good day.

    • LOL! 👏🏻👏🏻Yes, you did! With them both holding Left and Right shoes…what else would FIT? 😉 Enjoy your day, Betty…Be well and stay safe out there. 👢🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. I am trying to get the solution to a jumble puzzle the was printed on Sept. 12, 1999.

    • Hi Mike. I doubt very much that I can pull up a puzzle that old, but if you’d like to give me the words and the question to the puzzle, I’ll try to give you a hand solving it…🤷🏻‍♀️
