  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well.

🎶 CeleBRAYte good times, come on! (Let’s celeBRAYte)…CeleBRAYte good times, come on! (Let’s CeleBRAYte)…Come on now…CeleBRAYtion…Let’s all celeBRAYte and have a good time…CeleBRAYtion…We gonna celeBRAYte and have a good time…🎶 “Celebration” – Kool & the Gang 1980 https://tinyurl.com/c6kluf8

    🐴 🧨 We’re looking at some farm land…or maybe it’s a ranch,
I’m really not familiar with life out there on that branch…
I guess there might be a CANAL, where water flowed right through
Perhaps the donkeys drink there..is that TACKY or it’s true?
I never did ABSORB it all what’s ranching vs farm,
It never did IMPEDE me tho…it never did me harm…
But today we’re here at nightfall…where fireworks are blown,
And donkeys braying loudly is the major thing we’re shown
The Fourth has come upon us, and the red, the white, the blue…
Are worn by man and beast while giving our country it’s due…
We’re going through some hard times…it’s now a hurting nation
But hopefully things turn around…we need a “CELE-BRAY-TION”…🧨🐴

Ok..Let me start by saying that I can’t help but think of that old assume joke, you know the one…When you assume something you make an ass out of you and me…So I’m sure you’re going to get my drift here. I’ve always “figured”…(What?…What’d ya think I was going to say)?…I’ve always figured that all animals were terribly disturbed by fireworks. I can still hear my Grandmother, every 4th of July, worrying about the dog, and saying…”i poveri animali andranno a prendere i vermi …”. And yes, I’ve probably butchered it, but hey…I speak the little Italian that I do, by “ear”…I “ear” it, and I try to eMULEate it…And yes again, I know it leaves a lot to be desired. So if there’s any Italian speaking readers out there, shaking your heads right now in horror, you have my apologies..Anyway, what I’m trying to say is…”The poor animal’s going to get worms”…(Which my Grandma always pronounced as “vorms”. There’s no “W” in the Italian alphabet, and no matter how hard we tried over the years, we just couldn’t get Her to pronounce it in certain words). All I do know is that every 4th of July, my Grandmother would worry that the dog, so frightened by the fireworks was gonna get worms…Which brings me back to our puzzle…You can’t help but automatically know BRAY was going to be in there, right…I mean we see them BRAYING…but would the donkeys be celebrating? Would they be happy? They look happy, especially that one at front, wearing his Star-Spangled Banner hat…he really looks like a party animal…But going back to my opening…Aren’t all animals traumatized by fireworks? Well, you know I had to look it up, right? You know, not wanting to assume…and sure enough, they are! It’s right here in the “Donkey Whisperer Farm” blog… https://tinyurl.com/ybyaroda…(I swear, you can’t make this stuff up)!…It says so right in the opening paragraph! So then I wondered when does a donkey bray…and why? And sure enough, again…right here in the “Donkey Whisperers Farm” blog…https://tinyurl.com/y9x3kwvy….

And to be honest, Folks…at this point, I think I’ve heard enough. I don’t know about you, but we here in NYC have been hearing fireworks nightly for the past two months. In all five BURROS…It’s been a lot. So I really reFUSE to hear anymore…I’m just throwing in the towel…I guess if David and Jeff say the donkeys are OK with it…well then who am I to let it get my goat…The bottom line? When the donkeys partied loudly…it was a “CELE-BRAY-TION”…What the HAY! So, There you have it, Folks…Done. Wishing you all a safe and Happy 4th…And may God Bless America…🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

    • …By the way…There’s the letters USA showing on the guys cap…🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 👞 Walking near the CANAL, he noticed that his canvas shoes seemed to ABSORB all the moisture, and not only were they looking TACKY, he hoped it wouldn’t IMPEDE the rest of his trek to the “CELEBRATION”..👞

💔 The crowd was looking TACKY, well what else did he expect,
A party near an old CANAL? The thought quite derelict…
He walked around just to ABSORB the conversations spoken,
And knew that he’d have never come had his heart not been broken…
Needing to start all over, would this IMPEDE re-creation?
He left deciding this was no place for a CELEBRATION…💔

  3. Good morning. No problem with the words but caved when it came to the cartoon answer. I’ll check everything out later. Until tomorrow stay well.

  4. Hi Everyone –
Very funny story about your grandmother, Angela.
I started by looking for the word neigh. When that didn’t work out, I saw tion for the ending and then the rest. The word Bray seems familiar, but I forgot its meaning.
    Happy 4th.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. Thank you. She was an amazing woman. ❤️💔. And I’m glad you stuck with the puzzle. A bit quirky solve, but as always a good one…Happy 4th to you too…Be well and stay safe. 🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Good Morning again, Everyone…
I received this this morning from the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation. I thought I’d share it with you all…The video is beautiful…opening it full screen is breathtaking….But it’s a little loud, so you may need to adjust your volume…I hope you enjoy it, and that it gives us all hope for our beloved country…And Betty… I thought especially of you…🇺🇸 🙋🏻‍♀️

“All of us at The Foundation hope that you and your loved ones are doing well and in good health. This Fourth of July will almost certainly look very different for many of us. Family barbecues, pool parties, and gatherings with friends may be limited or even happening virtually. However you’re celebrating today, we hope you feel the sense of unity on this holiday all of us hold dear. On this day of independence, Lady Liberty and Ellis Island still stand tall in New York Harbor- awaiting future visitors to experience the emotional history that these two monuments share”…. https://tinyurl.com/y9vy7hhe

  6. No problems with the words or cartoon solution this morning. When I saw bray the rest of the words fell into place easily. Totally loved the Statue of Liberty video Angela. My Grandmother often told us how excited they felt when they saw the statue for the first time after a long and arduous voyage. We visited Ellis Island many years ago before Mr. Iacocca (another nice Italian fellow) raised the money to refurbish it. I have since found the names of all our relatives on their ship’s manifests. No celebrations here though I did bake my annual vanilla cupcakes with red, white and blue sprinkles which I delivered to family members. Happy Fourth to you all! 🇺🇸

    • Hi Betty..BRAYvo! I thought it an easy, breezy one too. The video, right? And I don’t know if you read down to the one comment that was there. I’m always reading the comments…A woman says just what you have, and just what I’ve told you my Grandmother told me more times than I can remember. How She laughed and cried and was so overwhelmed and relieved to finally reach America. She would cry telling me, and I’d cry with Her…like I’m doing now! 🤦🏻‍♀️…Such a wuss! And I too, was so happy to find all their manifests..but saddened that all my Grandparents were gone by the time I did it…Who knew? We’re staying quiet today too…not feeling up to partying. I’m holding out for next year! Love the thought of your cupcakes…and I hope you enjoy a Hapoy 4th too…Be well Betty, and stay safe…🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Hi all –
First off, let me pass along something I read yesterday, for anyone using fireworks today, even the “safe and sane ones” — Since hand sanitizer contains alcohol, it’s very flammable. So be extra careful to keep any flames, sparklers etc. away from the sanitizer; just use soap and water instead.

Easy puzzle today. Seems like I’ve seen IMPEDE and ABSORB recently, but that could have been in a different puzzle like Just Jumble or Jumble Giant Crosswords. The BRAY was obvious and led to the answer.

You made me laugh with the “five Burros” Angela, good one!
Can’t hear “Celebration” without thinking of the 1980’s “Billy Ball” Oakland A’s.
Yes, we have also had a *lot* more fireworks than usual and for a lot longer during June. Usually it’s just the week of the Fourth, but they’ve actually tapered off this week and even last night there were hardly any – maybe everybody finally ran out. I expect we’ll hear them again tonight, though .
I was reading that some but not all dogs are really comforted by the “Thunder Shirts” that fit snugly.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“The civic leaders in Amsterdam warned not to throw leftover cooking grease or disposable diapers in the CANAL because they would ABSORB all the TACKY debris and form ‘fatburgs’ that IMPEDE navigation.”

    • PS – There’s a partial Lunar eclipse tonight. We’ve been lucky that it’s been clear here the last several nights, and the big nearly-full moon has been beautiful.

    • Hey Steve…The newscasters have been talking about the hand sanitizers for a few days now…Will people listen? Let’s hope so…definitely double-dangerous…And people here got so disgusted with the constant bombardment of fireworks night after night…all through the night…that they went to Gracie Mansion late at night and protested…honking horns and yelling for our mayor to get up…If we can’t sleep…neither should he! 😂 He organized a task-force…(of course he did)…It’s gotten worse! And you’re right about the words…Even though we saw Impede in puzzle use in November…and Absorb June of ‘19,..they’ve been repeated in the App Games numerous times…If Absorb shows up once more in JJ? I may just lose it! 😂 As for the dogs, we’ve tried the Thunder Shirts..on a few dogs…they’re a little help with the tiny dogs, but not much on the bigger ones. TBT, I don’t know any animal that’s not in “danger of getting the worms”😉 once those firecrackers start going off…Burros? I couldn’t resist! 😂😂 Have a good 4th, Steve…stay safe…🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️
