  1. Good Morning, Everyone. 🥬 IT IS THE DAWNING OF THE AGE OF ASPARAGUS…🥬

🎶STALK to me….STALK to me…Ooo I love the things you say. STALK to me…STALK to me…In your own sweet gentle way…🎶 “Talk To Me” (with apologies to) Little Willie John 1958 https://tinyurl.com/ybo6c97r

🥬 You’re walking through the produce, and there’s something to be said
To seeing fruits and vegetables..by color green and red…
I’m always buying celery and GARLIC, but of course
Asparagus well not so much…it makes my throat feel hoarse…
I love fresh fruit in SEASON, though a peach I just can’t HANDLE,
I love the taste though and the scent, I often burn peach candies…
But I can’t touch the fuzz of them, so it’s buy VERSUS not
I usually will ask someone to put them in my cart…
But getting back to buying greens, I’m usually not fickle,
I think back tho to being a kid…the thought gives me a TICKLE
Not crazy then about their taste, it’s funny how we change
You grow a little older and your palate finds its range…
So now I’m left with POLLEN, and I’m not stressing myself…
I’m ending this by saying that the guy “RE-STALKED” THE SHELVES…🥬

Vegetables…and Fruits…So, is it just me? I swear, I walk through the Produce department, and love looking at the row upon row of brightly colored displays… I don’t know, just something about the lushness of it all…What can I say, I’m a very visual person…And along that line…

From what I can see, we don’t have any new words today, while LONELP and NLAHED have been on the shelf before…And the Early Birds tied everything up this morning without even the blink of an eye…

First glance at our cartoon today…I like the looks of the produce guy. A little older, he definitely doesn’t look green. He likes his job, and he’s happy to be doing it. He’s upbeet…And we can see that he carrot out his duties with a smile, while we hear him telling his co-worker that things are going great…Perhaps he’s a recent retiree…not all that worried about earning that big celery anymore. Got his pension, Social Security…maybe he invested well with some stalk options…so he’s tied up most of the loose ends, and he’s comfortable. And maybe that’s what makes him so good at tying up those asparagus stems…Stalk about a conscientious worker, am I right? Easy to see that this is a guy who definitely produces…Anyway, it was an easy solve, seeing more celery and asparagus stalks arriving, needing to be stocked…and him standing there at the shelves..“RE-STALKING” THE SHELVES!…Let’s face it, Folks, David fed this one to us on a silver vegetable platter…

Eye candy?…Not a bunch of stuff to see… Just some bananas displayed in the background.

So, There you have it, Folks…Done. Here’s hoping you all have a blessed day…Be well, stay safe…and I hope I get 🎶The Age of Aquarius🎶out of my head sometime soon…🥬🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🧄 Always having enjoyed growing his own crops of the SEASON, especially GARLIC, lately the POLLEN would TICKLE his throat so badly, that it made it very hard for him to HANDLE…and he guessed if it came down to comfort VERSUS want, at least his closest store “RE-STALKED“ THE SHELVES daily….🧄

👫🏻 The POLLEN never bothered her, no matter what the SEASON,
But lately she was noticing a cough…and for no reason…
She wondered what would cause it…the GARLIC in the house?
She hated the incessant feel of TICKLE…with no douse
She hoped that she could HANDLE it, ‘twas that VERSUS not go
Today she had a date to meet with that new guy named Joe…
Together they were planning to see if they would gel…
And thought to shop for food since today they “RE-STALKED” THE SHELVES 👫🏻

  3. Hi Angela and Everyone –
Shelves came to my mind quickly, but it took a little time to find the rest of the answer.
Loved Age of Asparagus, Angela. In our farmer’s box this morning, we’ll be getting asparagus, celery and 6 other veggies. Unlike you, I do enjoy asparagus very much.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. Thank you…it’s still playing on my head! 😉 And what a coincidence with your shopping! But even though I don’t rank asparagus up there in my top 3, I do eat it, and I’ve prepared it a few different ways. It’s a beautiful morning, I hope you got to spend a little more time walking through the market than on your last outing…And kudos on the solve! 👏🏻👏🏻.Enjoy! And be safe out there…🥬🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Good morning. Backed into Versus. All the others were fairly easy but knowing I needed a V for shelves I finally got the last word. I immediately thought the answer was re-stocked (the) shelves. Those left over 7 letters gave me the correct answer. My first full time job out of high school before military duty. Loved your song choice Angela. Enjoyed him not knowing his name. I never had the passion to remember the singer, year and label that some could recite after each song. Sometimes I wish I had. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. You were on the right track all along…and of course that was David’s intent…You just needed to get the STALK TIP! 😉 And I love the song too, very much… and listen to it quite often. It’s very romantic…Sunny and the Sunglows also recorded it after he did, but I’ve always enjoyed this version more. And I thought of you when I chose it…I just knew you’d enjoy it..😘.Have a good day. Paul. Be well and stay safe…🥬🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Hi all – Paused for a minute at GARLIC and also POLLEN, but the double letter trick helped with that. No idea about the answer, but I figured the first two letters were RE, and writing down the others showed SHELVES and then it was clear.

I feel like I’m echoing the other comments today – Caroline and I are on a roll, because I just bought broccoli and CELERY this morning at Safeway, and I also got a laugh from “age of asparagus.” And “Talk To Me” is so good, isn’t it? It has that real 50’s sound, and did you see the first comment about the guy seeing it performed live at the Apollo Theater? Great stuff!

    Good wishes to everyone.

“ ‘Tis the SEASON to get out to the farmers’ market and HANDLE the GARLIC and other produce, but don’t let the POLLEN VERSUS your nose make your throat TICKLE.”

    • Hey Steve…Well…since we’re sharing…My last haul was lettuce, cucumbers, corn-on-the-cob, escarole and string beans. Oh…wait, are we just doing green? Ok, don’t count the corn…but there were green grapes! 😂 And oh yes, “Talk To Me” is sooo good. One of those “melt” songs as I like to call them. But guess what caught my eye with your sentence? There is no more handling the garlic…or anything else for that matter, at the Farmers Markets. I’m pretty sure that if you haven’t pre-ordered and you’re picking up, It’s only the vendor that handle the wares. You can point…and it’ll be chosen for you, but I’m almost positive there’s no more squeezing the Charmin. And how sad, right. I mean I don’t touch a peach…but I do enjoy handling a plum or two…I wonder if we’ll ever have a semblance of what we knew before…Anyway…Yes, I did read about the Apollo…I enjoy reading the comments…and once or twice I’ve even read ones that were written by people I know. That was cool! Have a good one, Steve. Be well and stay safe….🥬🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Actually, Caroline and I were just doing “green that was in the Jumble cartoon”! 😂
I do think we’ll be back to normal, if not next summer then the one after (if the creek don’t rise).
That is very cool to see a name you know in the YouTube comments; I never have.

      • Oh…ok…Scratch all of my produce then! I guess I’m in the wrong aisle! 😂 Normal? From your lips to God’s ears, Steve…whether the creek rises or not! 😉 I hope so…And you want to laugh? As I said, I’m always reading comments…I like to get others peoples takes on things…but when I hit on somebody I know? For some reason…I then feel like a STALKer! 😂😂😂 🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Age of Aspargus – love it. I am a big asparagus fan. Paused at the cartoon answer this morning but once I got shelves the rest fell into place. Thanks for the Flag Day reminder, Angela. “You’re a grand old flag you’re a high flying flag and forever at peace may you wave”… ✌️🇺🇸

    • LOL! Thanks, Betty…And it’s still stuck in my head! ..And you’re very welcome for the Flag Day reminder. It makes me feel so good to see so many of them flying on my block. I don’t know how I forgot to mention it earlier..I guess I wasn’t as awake as I thought at 5 o’clock this morning…🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway, this is for you….https://tinyurl.com/y8stx693. Maybe get out the tissues though…Between the beautiful shots of the Statue of Liberty, and the song itself, it gets me every time. I really am such a wuss! Here’s to a wonderful day, Betty…and I pray our country heals…😢🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️
