THE TV SHOW WHERE THEY DETERMINED THE WINNING LOTTERY NUMBERS WAS – – –

AC TEL OID SWR OG AN = DRAWING TO A CLOSE

Good Morning, Everyone!

💰LOTTERY….A TAX ON PEOPLE WHO ARE BAD AT MATH💰

🎶 I’m gonna win the LOTTERY…and live my life and style…I’ll take a trip to Europe and then head off for Maui a while… I’ll buy my dog a prime rib dinner and my wife a brand new dress… I’ll give 10% to Jesus and save a little for the IRS…🎶 I’m Gonna Win the Lottery” – Eric Hilding 2015

💰The Lottery’s like a MAGNET, it’s TIMELY and it’s true…
A week will never go by where you can’t look for your due…
The odds you hope you’ll OUTBID, your mind goes in a SWERVE
And you ACCEPT it to be true that winning you deserve
So money does the OUTAGE thing…you take your chance and wait
Until 11 rolls around…and numbers tell your fate…
“You never know” the battle cry…you could win, you suppose
And money woes…You’ll finally see them DRAWING TO A CLOSE 💰

…And with another year drawing to a close, our final 2019 Sunday Jumble combines both the old and the new…Our words all sweet repeats, but with new and very well-played anagrams. All seen a few times over the years, it’s OUTAGE that comes in as our most recent, this past 08/25, and the only word that slowed the Early Birds down some was MAGNET. I heard Magenta, Gamut, Agent and one other guess that oddly enough I seem to have forgotten already…quite an array of hit and miss. But if anything, they were creative! Ok…Time to get the rest of this show on the road…

Scene: TV Station. Either a Wednesday or a Saturday night. 10:59 PM. Each week, right before the 11 o’clock news begins, the “Money Madness Jackpot” Lottery Numbers are always drawn…Just as the 10 o’clock drama is…DRAWING TO A CLOSE. Drop the mic! We’ve got ourselves a winner!

Eye candy? My first thought? Guaranteed the Lottery’s going to see an influx of these numbers showing up this week! …17-23-53-7-54…and as our hostess is saying…”The final number…65”! (Just like the 65th Anniversary of the Jumble)! Guaranteed…And visible in the drum…35-41-21-8-6-30 something-20 something-53 and 11. But 53? Can there be two 53’s? Hmm. So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone…And Good Luck! 💰💰🙋🏻‍♀️

  1. 🧲 Hating to ACCEPT that he was now forced to sit in a position where he had to SWERVE his neck, the power OUTAGE coming just as the affair was DRAWING TO A CLOSE, played a TIMELY advantage for some…but for him, losing his seat, he had a feeling he’d now be OUTBID for the antique MAGNET…🧲

🐶 Drawn to her like a MAGNET, his heart could not ACCEPT
That unrequited was his love…his heart so deeply swept
He sits alone in darkness…like an OUTAGE taken place
His mind a SWERVE in sadness…are there tears upon his face?
He can’t believe his luck…if he was TIMELY he would be
The owner of that puppy…not OUTBID by two or three…
He feels so bad..he was so close..he lost just by a nose…
Arriving late, he blew it…auction DRAWING TO A CLOSE…🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. Morning, Angela and Everyone –
I’m not familiar with the show and didn’t grasp what they were looking for. But I was able to get the answer eventually by looking for two-letter words and words ending in “ing.”
    Wishing all a great day.

    • Hi Caroline. Good Morning. The word “show” was meant as an umbrella word. There’s no particular show per se. Just that 10:59 PM is when the Lottery Association holds the live Lottery drawings across most of the country. (I only said “drama” because at 10 PM, as a rule, it’s usually an hour long drama that’s telecast, not a comedy). David only meant it to say that “whatever show” was airing was ending, ie..DRAWING TO A CLOSE…with DRAWING being the operative clever word since the Lottery numbers are “DRAWN”. I also found the word “final” in the woman’s dialogue to be another clue…final=closing. And your looking for the “ing” was spot on! All in all, it’s a really clever solution today…But I see that the tide is turning, and the votes seem to be mounting up against it…It might not be the easy solve I thought it to be…Time will tell…Hope you’re enjoying your morning…The TV keeps saying…”Enjoy it while you can…there’s some serious rain on the way”…I’ll take the rain over the snow any day! 🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Thanks for the explanation, Angela.
I also enjoyed the cute lottery song and continue to be very impressed and amused with the sentences all of you come up with.

  3. Got all the anagrams without difficulty but the cartoon answer took some paper, pencil & a bit of thought. Like Caroline, I found the two letter words also “ing” and the rest finally fell into place. Have a good Sunday all.

    • Hi Betty. Good Morning. I don’t know if it’s because I’m just so over-tired, or maybe that it is funny…but I read your comment and thought…”Oh, the pieces fit like a puzzle”…And I had to laugh! I mean….Duh..it is a puzzle! I do need some rest! LOL…Hoping you have a good Sunday too! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Hi all – Double-letter trick for ACCEPT, ‘LY’ suffix for TIMELY. Thought MAGENTA before MAGNET. I initially saw two-word phrases for both the ‘OUT’ words – ‘I DOUBT’ and ‘AGE OUT’, like kids do from foster care. OUTBID took the longest. Had to write the letters for the answer, saw DRAW and ING and the rest followed.

Ah, this brought back memories of watching the Illinois State Lottery drawings on WGN in Chicago, although the clunky camera and overall look (which I love) seems a little more 60’s than 70’s. I think there were often three separate prizes of different amounts at stake.

I love the song Angela. Even the guy’s *dog* is having champagne wishes and caviar dreams!

Have a great Sunday, everyone! Tonight’s 49’ers-Seahawks game looks like big fun no matter *what* happens.

“A TIMELY activation of a giant MAGNET next to his neighbors’ house caused the WiFi signal to SWERVE and create an internet OUTAGE, and he had to ACCEPT that he’d been OUTBID as the eBay auction was DRAWING TO A CLOSE”. (Whew! SWERVE made that difficult!)

    • Hey Steve.. Magenta….LOL…It’s just what my friends from W.Va and Fl said this morning! And I just gave Mike the heads up that Magnet isn’t on the poll…And the dog gave me a chuckle too…😉 But do you not have the weekly Lottery drawings televised out by you? I know there’s the time difference, but..?? I’m not a Lottery person, so I don’t pay much attention to it…but everyone else here does…Swerve? 👏🏻 LOL! Have a good one, Steve! 💰🙋🏻‍♀️

      • About the lottery – you know, I have no idea! I don’t remember seeing any here, but I don’t really watch much besides sports these days. We’ll have to ask Betty!

      • I’m not much of a lottery person either but they used to televise our state Lotto drawing once a week on one of local channels. Now I think they just post the results on the internet. However, if there’s a big jackpot in the works the network news usually announces the results. California only joined the Powerball lottery a couple of years ago.

        Go Niners!!

      • Hi Betty. I’m a little green (no pun intended) when it comes to all the different lottery drawings…but I know I’m always hearing one or another of them live on TV. The time difference between the coasts may have something to do with it. Hope your enjoying your day! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Good morning. Got all the words but gave up on the cartoon answer. I also thought of the first word ending in ing but couldn’t put it together. Until tomorrow stay well.
