BLACE = CABLE
IVDVI = VIVID
TRAGEH = GATHER
LANHIE = INHALE
CARTOON ANSWER:
IF GEORGE WASHINGTON’S MOUNT RUSHMORE CARVING CAME TO LIFE, HE’D – – –
ABE VID GAH HAE = HAVE A BIG HEAD
Good Morning, Everyone! 👥 👥 HERE EGO AGAIN! 👥 👥
🎶 And if they stare….Just let them burn their eyes ON YOUR MOVING...And if they shout…Don’t let it change a thing that you’re doing….Hold your HEAD UP, oh…Hold your HEAD UP, oh…Hold your HEAD UP, oh…Hold your HEAD HIGH…🎶 “Hold Your Head Up” – Argent 1972
👥 👥 Tied up upon a CABLE, brave men carved out the scene,
And VIVID was the end result…when they did finally wean…
George Washington stood mighty, his head first as we looked
So stoic would we see him now…outside a history book…
The people came to GATHER, a landmark was it named,
And four of our top Presidents achieved additional fame…
So should George come to life for us, a deep breath he’d INHALE
But would his ego too loom large…and would he then regale?
Improbable to think of…Yet when all is done and said?
You never know…It’s possible that he’d HAVE A BIG HEAD! 👥 👥
First of all…a little surprise with our first three solution letters being ABE! And then, as odd as it may seem, I couldn’t find VIVID in the Jumble Archives this morning. Surprising too right, for such a common word? So it looks like we have another new entry into the Wonderful World of Jumble! But there’s still another surprise looming large this morning…Our three remaining words? All repeat anagrams! BLACE appeared on 05/27/17, TRAGEH on 03/24/17, and LANHIE on 10/26/14. It’s like a Jumble homecoming week! Anyway…let’s make short order of all this, and get to our cartoon…
Mount Rushmore...To those of us die-hard Jumblers, you know we’ve been here before…In fact, we’ve been here quite often. Off the top of my head, I was thinking of at least 4 or 5 times, but I did a quick search…and I came up with 10, the last time being as recently as 05/05/19. And a little pressed for time, I only went back as far as 2011, meaning there’s probably a much higher number)… So I guess we have another homecoming week phenomenon! Only this morning we’re taking a more whimsical approach to it…
Not etched in stone, today instead we see our Rock Stars come to life…But who would have guessed that they’d be trash-talking? And with Jeff’s HILLarious, over the top dialogue taking it to all new heights, our fourfathers are really getting into one another’s faces! Well maybe not one another…it’s really George who’s got the others climbing the walls…Talking about how he’s the first, and how he should be the biggest…and blah, blah, blah…I mean, who knew? Maybe we’ve just taken too much for granite all these years…and maybe George really does HAVE A BIG HEAD! Ha! David…you’ve carved out another good one!
So, eye candy? Besides our 4 headliners, there’s really not much more to see. But I’m most impressed by Teddy’s comment. I just love how hEGOs…”Bully”! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And remember…it’s a good idea to avoid EGOtists. You know how it is with them. Always an I for an I… 👥 👥 🙋🏻♀️
🪂 Looking down, with the bungee jump CABLE tied around him, he noticed what a VIVID sight it was seeing his friends GATHER below…now all he had to do was INHALE and jump…and pray that he’d HAVE A BIG HEAD when it was all over…🪂
📺 They waited for the CABLE guy…their nerves were wearing thin,
When finally an EXHALE…as he walked in with a grin…
Their TV far from VIVID, the images a blur,
Bodies tended to GATHER…not showing him or her…
But just their luck this technician might just cause them more dread
His talk was so much “Me, me, me”…he does HAVE A BIG HEAD! 📺 🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. No problem with either the words or cartoon answer. Just off the top of my head I’d say it was close to a Monday solve. Thanks guys again for always being there and brightening our daily morning. Until tomorrow stay well.
Good Morning, Brooklyn. I’m with you…easy, breezy. Have a great day! 👥🙋🏻♀️
Agree w Paul,a surprisingly easy Sat puzzle,definitely on the order of a Monday puzzle in level of difficulty.
We all agree! Good Morning, Prof! Fun puzzle! Have a good one! 👥🙋🏻♀️
We all have VIVID memories about when we were kids how we used to GATHER around a hotdog kiosk in downtown San Francisco and INHALE the aromas and later hop on a CABLE car and tour the city.
Good Morning, Chuck. 👏🏻👏🏻 I’m reading it and thinking …Why would Chuck be referring to San Francisco? He’s an East Coast guy…and then I came to the CABLE Car…Brilliant! Definitely a creative slant. Hope you’re having a good one! 👥🙋🏻♀️
Thanks, Angela. I was stationed in Monterey for six months while I was in the Army and my wife and I vacationed there (SF) In the eighties. Hope your Christmas runnings are close to being finished.
You’re very welcome, Chuck. It was definitely a good take… And I didn’t know you were a Vet. Tip of the cap, and thank you for your service. Christmas runnings? Ha! I’m almost on empty! It’s as if I don’t know it’s coming every year! 😂 I’m a menace! Got the third and final tree up last night..the kids’ one. What is it with these kids and tinsel? LOL! They made a bit of a mess, but it is fun watching them learn symmetry! 🙄 And I’m STILL shopping, as we speak! Terrible thing this internet shopping! Some people just have no self-control!!!!…You’d think I’d be wrapping by now…by Noooo. That would make things way too easy! But I thank you for asking! 😉 Have a great day, Chuck. Fingers crossed we don’t get that snow…🙋🏻♀️
Agree with all of you that it was an easy solve this morning and yes, we do seem to spend a lot of time at Mount Rushmore. Hey, we’re happy to have you East Coasters come on down and hop on our Cable Cars any time – I’d suggest you take the Cable Car to Fisherman’s Wharf and try the Dungeness Crab. Happy Saturday to all.
Good Morning, Betty. I think we’re all on the same page today…Easy, breezy, cute and clever…And as far as the Sea Food goes? I’m in. I’m one of those “See food diet” people..See food…sure, I’ll eat”.😉 And it’s funny you mention the crabs. I think of you now every time I make Cioppino. Have a wonderful Saturday, Betty! 🦀🦞🦐🙋🏻♀️
Hi all – Only INHALE would have taken longer, but trying the IN together first showed it. The answer was obvious from the letter layout and the cartoon.
*Nice* fairly obscure song Angela! I think I’m limited to giving you a “silver” medal for “Argent” though if my tiny bit of Latin is correct.
I also got a laugh from Teddy saying “bully”, a pun since he always used that phrase as “right on” and called the presidency a “bully pulpit”, but in this case means it literally.
Have a great day, everyone!
It always makes me smile when a word or phrase reminds me of a song I haven’t heard or thought about in ages, and that was the case today with GATHER. And as usual, I found an interesting story when I looked it up on Wikipedia. “We Gather Together” is actually a Dutch hymn written to celebrate a victory over the Spanish:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Gather_Together
“Before the Internet, we would GATHER together to watch CABLE news, and I have a VIVID memory of the line ‘but I didn’t INHALE’. “
LOL! Now Steve…You know you don’t have a “tiny bit of Latin”…(is there any such thing)? And today’s music isn’t all that obscure, is it?…I still play the 45! But “Bully Pulpit”? I included a link! Do you even “read my stuff”??!! 😂 Nice take on cable..👏🏻👏🏻 So many ways to use the word. I really enjoy playing with words that are so versatile, and reading the different ways we use them in our sentences…But I’m definitely LOL at yours,.because I too remember his infamous lines…about all the things he “didn’t” do! 😉 Wishing you a great day, Steve..🎶Hold your head up🎶! 👥🙋🏻♀️
Ah, that’s why I said I “also” got a laugh; I was pretty sure you saw it too. But, I also didn’t recognize the word as a link until you pointed it out.
Hope your day goes well! 🙋🏻♂️
Hmmm. IDK..I even chose it as my eye candy! And the links in red! TBT? If I don’t know better? I’d think you were “Bully” s——-g me! 😂😂😂 😘🙋🏻♀️
I wonder if Eva Marie Saint or Cary Grant ever ventured back to Mount Rushmore… I think it’s located in the North by Northwest!
YIKES! That movie! Scared the bejesus out of me. And that scene? I remember the first time I saw it…I was dizzy for a week…and that was wayyyy before I was diagnosed with Vertigo! Leave it to Hitchcock…the Psycho that he is…(So, do you denote a trend here)? 😂😂 🙋🏻♀️

The NBNW clips were great, Angela. I was hoping the cornfield fiasco would be included, but no such luck. Thanks for the memories from a classic movie!
You’re welcome, Chuck. Definitely a great classic…but one nightmare after another! And I hate to admit it, but now I’m thinking of watching the movie again…Enjoy this clip…🙋🏻♀️

My pleasure, kind Sir! And thank you! Hope you’re enjoying your night! 🎅🏻🙋🏻♀️
