  1. HAIR YE, HAIR YE! 👴🏻 Good Morning, Mike. Good Morning, Everyone…Have a great day! 🙋🏻

🎶 Go put your records on, tell me your favorite song…You go ahead, LET YOUR HAIR DOWN…Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams….Just go ahead, LET YOUR HAIR DOWN…You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow…🎶 -“Put Your Records On”- Corrine Bailey Rae 2006 https://tinyurl.com/y54utk49

👴🏻 The other night on Kimmel Live, Sir Elton was the guest,
And most people have known for years, on his head toupees rest…
He told a story of the time when in Atlanta happened,
WARMLY ready to get to sleep a noise his night did dampen…
Unable to his nerves a’SOOTHE, he felt that he should look,
He grabbed a robe, his glasses, and THIRD, hair from the hook,
He saw some men, the lights a FLINT…And he was in the dark,
Turns out it was a water leak…for Elton though no lark…
Back in his room a mirror passed…and oh did Elton frown…
The toupee was on backwards…talk about LET HIS HAIR DOWN! 👴🏻

  2. TOUPEE or not TOUPEE…? Today’s words were easy to COVER! 🙋🏻

👦🏻Knowing he wouldn’t be able to LET HIS HAIR DOWN until his nephew was safely in bed, he tried to WARMLY SOOTHE the THIRD-grader to sleep, using a FLINT to light some candles…👦🏻

👨🏻‍🍳 The recipe was detailed…he hated following rules,
What had to be kept WARMLY and what had to be cooled…
Now trying for the THIRD time to get the blend just right,
Nothing worked well and even wine failed to SOOTHE him tonight…
His nerves now sharp as any FLINT, guests soon will be around,
He thinks he’ll be unable tonight to LET HIS HAIR DOWN 👨🏻‍🍳

  3. Good morning. My choice for hardest word was Soothe. The only word that didn’t come right away. The cartoon answer was a clever one. Easily solved once I put the letters down. I didn’t know that the rocket man wore a wig. I guess like old blue eyes, they looked better with hair. There are not too many guys that look better bald. Take for instance the lollipop man. Now he absolutely looked better bald. If you need to know who that is, I’ll get back to you. Until later, stay well.

      • Angela. You never cease to amaze me. Nailed it and with the video besides. Got to admit he’s cool without hair. Thanks for the memory lane.

        • Hey Brooklyn, Thank you. Glad you liked it. Hope your nights going well…I’m just chillin’, waiting for the Yankee bats to warm up…. before it’s too late…Ciao, Bello🙋🏻

  4. Hi Everyone –
Once again I had an incorrect, misspelled clue word – dirth (dearth) instead of third. Luckily, two of the circled letters were the same, which made finding my mistake and the answer easier.
I also didn’t know about Elton John.

    • Hi Caroline Good Morning. He was so good on Kimmel the other night, especially when he was relating stories about Willie Nelson and Stevie Wonder. It’s all on line somewhere. But when he told this one about the backwards wig, I thought it was so endearing. I found this article that not only speaks of the story, but about his hair “escapades” also. I remember the squirrel thing! 😉 He’s really a sweetheart, and we’re planning to see his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour show in April at the Garden. I’ve seen him in concert before, and he’s quite the showman. He puts on the kind of show that when it’s over you feel like you’ve been transported to a much better place! 😉 His songbook seems to never end…Wishing you a wonderful day, Caroline! Stay warm! 🎶🙋🏻

      • Thanks, Angela. I’m just getting a chance to reply. I’ll definitely look for that clip, since I love both Willie and Stevie. The farewell show should be very exciting. I’ve never been to one of John’s shows, but I have seen Willie live a few times.

        • Hi Caroline…Yes, I remember you saying that you liked them both, and I think you’ll enjoy the clips. He was very amusing, IMO. The show..I’m so looking forward to it….I’ve seen Willie too, and I’ve always liked him…He’s definitely an enigma, huh? 86 and still touring…Guess he’s doing SOMETHING right! 🚬 LOL! Have a great night, Caroline. 🎶🙋🏻

  5. An easy Mon level puzzle on a Thursday. All 4 anagrams were a snap, and the puzzle solution,”Let his hair down ” was a blind solve.

  6. Hi all – A rare instant solve today on words and answer. If that’s his wig on the table, it looks like it could double as a football helmet, and nice to see the Jumble anniversary book there. Also two of Jeff’s signature details – a sinking sailboat and male leg hair.

Have a great day, everyone! I hope all those impacted by the Eastern storm yesterday are doing well.

All the sports stories here today are remembrances of the 1989 earthquake that interrupted the Bay Bridge World Series between the Giants and A’s. Hard to believe it was 30 years ago, and also shows how much longer the season lasts.

“It took his THIRD FLINT to finally get the campfire going to WARMLY SOOTHE his muscles aching from the day’s hike.”

  7. With our characters relaxing at what may be their second home in Hawaii, our female has definitely taken her surroundings to HEARTH, since she’s dressed in a sleeveless sheath adorned with yellow hibiscus, Hawaii’s state flower. And the one worn in her hair shows it’s true colors! Perhaps in Oahu, with the Ko’olau Mountains in the background, the Anniversary Book showing the encircled 65 commemorating this years milestone, features a picture of Jeff and David below the title, unlike the actual book which depicts a couple in love walking arm-in-arm dressed in period costume. And if case you haven’t ordered your copy yet, here’s the link https://tinyurl.com/yxs263dh to Triumph Books, where you still have plenty of time to get one for yourself, and perhaps a few more as Holiday gifts. With 180 puzzles, it runs the gamut from Classic Puzzles to Daily Puzzles to Challenger Puzzles, and includes the drawings of both the late Henri Arnold and our present-day artist extraordinarie, Jeff Knurek, along with the magical scramblings of the late Bob Lee and “The Man Who Puzzles America”, David L. Hoyt…And topping off today’s cartoon, are the two Hurricane glasses, holding Mai Tais, the official Hawaiian PUNCH, that our characters are enjoying. Here’s to them having a wonderful time while they’re there! 🍹🌴🙋🏻
