Good Morning, Everyone! 🧼🧹THE SCRUB HUB 🧹🧼

🎶 The CLEAN UP woman will wipe his blues away…She’ll give him plenty lovin’, twenty four hours a day…The CLEAN UP woman, she’ll SWEEP him off his feet, She’s the one who’ll take him in when you dump him in the street…🎶Clean Up Woman” – Betty Wright 1971

🧹🧼You rent yourself a cabin…you don’t expect to find…
An odor that you can’t ELUDE…not what you had in mind.
The COSMOS is all thrown off, you cringe at the first whiff,
Who knew you needed bring a BUNCH of supplies..only if…
You’ve never been a ZEALOT of scrubbing to the bone,
But this place needs a real cleaning before you’d feel at home…
So ‘fore you can unpack your bags, first you’ll work like a fiend,
There’ll be no Home Sweet Home right now..for this place MUST BE CLEANED! 🧼🧹

While none of our words are new today, David’s given us a masterful group of anagrams. But with today being the last “official” Friday of summer…I, like most of you am trying to squeeze out the most that I can from these last few days…So, I’ll be back to BRUSH you up on the details, but right now let’s take a quick look at our cartoon…

Standing at the threshold of a country log cabin, we find a Jumble couple entering what seems to be not serene… for it MUST BE CLEANED. Looking forward to a little getaway to wrap up the Summer, what they find instead is a Cabin that obviously hasn’t been used for a while, and no one thought enough to AIR the place out. Hmm…Maybe it’s not a rental…maybe it’s their country place? Well either way, they’ll be no relaxing before the WAXING! With a stale and moldy odor, they know that they have some work to do before they can enjoy their stay…

Eye candy? A typical country setting…Some fir trees silhouetted black. way off in the background, an expanse of green, and a little pond over to the right, visible through the curtained window. A red car is parked outside the door. We can see a small table, and an armchair, complete with an antimacassar, which may be dating the cabin. You don’t see many of those anymore. And there’s a small welcome mat at the door. But what caught my eye was the single gold key dangling from the keyhole. I still can’t decide for sure if the cabin belongs to our couple or not. What do you think?…So, There you have it, Folks, Done! I know it’s quick, but as I said…there’s just so much I want to PACK into this last long weekend…Have a great day, Everyone…And I hope you’re all enjoying these last few Summer days before Fall SWEEPS IN…🧼🧹🙋🏻

***FYI*** As promised, here’s a little background on today’s words. ZEALOT, our oldest, hasn’t been in play since 06/06/14, where it appeared as Zetalo. BUNCH, was last seen on 12/13/17, as Uhnbc. ELUDE, on 08/13/18, as Udlee, and COSMOS, our most recent entry, appeared on 03/26/19, as Ssoomc. 🧼🙋🏻

  1. It took some doing to realize that BE could be part of a passive verb. MUST BE CLEANED. But I note, even though the length of the words is not correct, that there is another anagram. It is something that many politicians want us to do, namely ELECT US BADMEN. Yes, there is some cleaning to do.

  2. Zealot was new to me,but I knew must be were the first 2 puzzle words,so after getting zealot ,must be cleaned was a quick solution to cure the musty and moldy ‘Oder’ .

    • Good Morning, Professor. If I’m correct, we haven’t seen ZEALOT since way back in 2014, but even though, it’s hardly a common word. And from the looks of the poll, you’re not alone… the numbers are steadily climbing. Hope you’re having a good morning, Prof. 🧼🙋🏻

    • I didn’t think the German rivers were that polluted, Chuck. Last I read, they found the Oder–Neisse. 🙋🏻‍♂️

  3. Hi all – Usually a ‘Z’ gives a word away, but this time it took a couple of tries to get ZEALOT after seeing ZEAL. I had no idea about the answer, but writing down the letters showed BE and the ‘U’ showed MUST leading to the solution.

I thought it was a nice touch that it was an actual log cabin as you mentioned, Angela, adding to the rustic feeling.

    Have a great day everyone!

“Not wanting a long discussion, he tried to ELUDE the BUNCH of people that included a ZEALOT who always argued that the answer to all of life’s problems could be found in the COSMOS”.

    • Hey G. The panel itself offers up a true rustic feel. Shades of brown paint a nice picture. I have a coincidence for you today. I played ZEALOT in Scrabble earlier this morning..and LOGged in 62 points. Now that was nice! 😉 Great take on your sentence. 👏🏻👏🏻. I like it. Wishing you a good one! Enjoy! 🧼🧹🙋🏻

  4. Good evening. Long day for me. Left early for a funeral mass and burial. My nieces husband. Now my brotherinlaw will be in Gods hand very soon too. Plus my other brotherinlaws son had a massive stroke and is awaiting a specialist to perform the delicate surgery. When it rains it pours. Today’s jumble was a challenge because I was doing it while being driven to the church. Finally finished it at home. I was afraid of getting sick. The hardest word for me was zealot. I had it but wasn’t sure it was correct. No problem with the cartoon answer. Angela, don’t know where you come up with these gems. I thought it was by the 97-99 year old Betty from Golden Girls. I’m thinking I didn’t know she made a record. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Correction on the massive stroke. It was a heart attack and the experts came last night and did a double by pass. He is up and walking a little and ate. At least we hear a little good news. He’s a great kid and only 44. He went to the same H.S. as my niece in upstate NY.

      • Hey Paul. I was just getting to reply to you. Glad to hear the good news. Prayers that he’ll make a fine recovery. Again, I hope you’re getting to relax a little. Hope the night goes well. 🙋🏻

    • Hi Brooklyn…I knew something was up when I didn’t see you here early…Longgggggg day for me too, but fortunately not the same as yours. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve so much on your plate,…you’re right, your family’s definitely being hit hard. My prayers are with you all. As you can see from the poll results, Zealot was the stumper today, although a lot of people came up empty with the solve too. Glad to hear CLEANED UP. Thanks for the Shout Out, Paul, and you gave me a chuckle with Betty White. 😉 I think she may have tried her hand at singing early on, but I don’t think it ever got off the ground. But she does have some remarkable achievements under her belt. She’s an amazing woman. Anyway, I hope you’re getting to unwind, God knows you have your share of stress to deal with. I just turned on the Mets…we definitely need a win. Have a good night, Brooklyn. 🙋🏻
