WHO IS GOING TO BE THE MAGAZINE’S NEW “PERSON OF THE YEAR”?
IET WIT MLL LEL = TIME WILL TELL
Good Morning, Everyone! 📖 TIME AFTER TIME 📖
🎶And all fire and flames took all we trust…We’re kicking up dust
Stations fade, just like they do..Oh, TIME WILL TELL, we always knew…Oh, TIME WILL TELL, we always knew…🎶 “Time Will Tell” Gregory Alan Isakov 2013
📖 Time Magazine is widely known for “Person of the Year”,
The winners have been varied, have come from here and there…
Some WITTY, some quite MELLOW, some thought to be INEPT,
An on-line poll is held to see who people might accept…
Decision though is narrowed down and it’s the Editors choice,
Consideration taken but the final say their voice…
Who’s next to win the coveted “prize”? Someone that we revere?
A Johnny Come LATELY…or someone whose name we hear?
The secrecy surrounds it…the issue really sells…
But ’til the publication date…there’s no way TIME WILL TELL 📖
This morning’s word search seems to have turned up a new entry for we Jumble devotees…MELLOW. As familiar as it may look, I wasn’t able to find it in our Archives. Our other words…old favorites. INEPT, seen as recently as February 8th, makes its’ ninth appearance, and today’s anagram has been used twice before in the past. WITTY and LATELY, both last seen in 2018, are anagrammed anew, with Witty going back as far as 2015. And it was Lately, masterfully anagrammed in my opinion that took the Early Birds the longest TIME to solve, perhaps because of the word ALL showing at its’ end…Ok…we’ve spent enough TIME here, let’s move on to our cartoon…
Today’s puzzle theme centers on TIME Magazines’ “PERSON OF THE YEAR“. Time’s most famous feature throughout its history has been this annual cover story, in which the magazine recognizes the individual or group of individuals who have had the biggest impact on news headlines over the past 12 months. Despite the Magazine holding a poll asking for its readers input, the final decision is always made by the Editors alone. With this in mind, it seems that Jeff has brought us into the office of Edward Felsenthal, who at the end of this year will be the man making the next decision, and who today takes center stage. And the dialogue of the woman with him, most likely an Assistant Editor, holds the key to today’s solution...”put out a press release SOON“..relating to “time“. But I do feel that unless one is familiar with the Magazine, and its annual issue, today’s solve may not be that easily reached. I guess only TIME WILL TELL…
Ok, eye candy…The panel is pretty basic. Showing just our two characters, three easels of the finalists, and two photos on the wall, it’s completely shaded in a soft beige tone. Rather dignified, as you’d expect the Editorial offices of Time Magazine to be. Mr Felsenthal (presumably) wears a cocoa colored suit, over a white shirt and black tie, and his co-worker wears a sleeveless rust-colored blouse. Subtle, non-description. But it’s the PERSONS on the wall that Jeff’s chosen to feature amongst all past winners, that takes the prize. He’s NARROWED IT DOWN to Former Presidents Bill Clinton, (1992, 1998) left and George W. Bush (2000, 2004), right…Bi–partisan. I like that…So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And take some TIME to…(you fill in the blank)! 📖🙋🏻
📖 PS: Was todays question with its’ mention of the Magazine, and “Person of the Year” an instant connection to Time Magazine for you? I feel so, but I’m wondering if everyone else agrees. Why not take a moment to let us know your thoughts about today’s solution? 🤔🙋🏻
