PUZZLE PLAYERS!
💇 HEAD OVER HEELS
Today’s cartoon shows us a husband and wife admiring the results of his recent hair transplant. He crouches down to give her a closer look, clearly hoping she’ll approve of the progress. Although she once had her doubts, she now seems pleasantly surprised by how well everything is filling in. With his new mane coming along nicely, she has to give him credit for finally making baseball caps optional.

➤ HAIR’S LOOKING AT YOU
The husband is dressed in a T-shirt, shorts, and sandals. He holds his baseball cap in his left hand and gives a thumbs-up with his right. His transplanted hair is still thin, but it appears to be coming in nicely, with plenty of hair remaining around the sides.
➤ THE MANE EVENT
The wife can easily take in all his new locks because he is bent forward to give her a closer look. She is wearing a sleeveless V-neck shirt with pants and shoes.
➤ PICTURE-PERFECT HAIR
Their wedding picture hangs on the wall in the background. The bride is on the left in a wedding gown, holding a bouquet in her right hand. Her husband stands beside her in a tuxedo with a thick, full head of hair. A doorway leading to another room is also visible behind the wife.
🧠 FINAL SOLVE
The final answer was a 12-letter anagram that solved into a 4 + 3 + 2 + 3 layout. Our final solve of the week literally had me pulling my hair out. With the cartoon centered on a hair transplant, I thought the usual suspects like BALD, HAIR, or THIN would be in play. Even with all four clue words solved, that was anything but the case. What finally clicked was the baseball cap in his left hand. That tipped me off to HATS, and once those letters were taken out of play, OFF TO YOU instantly came into view to complete the familiar congratulatory phrase. If today’s puzzle slowed you down, our biggest nudge was the cap. It wasn’t mentioned in the dialogue or sentence, but it was front and center, while her surprised approval was another way of giving him a well-earned HATS OFF TO YOU.
