As the man in the back asks the driver if he ever gets used to traffic like this, the woman beside him suggests they might as well get out and finish the trip on foot. Up front, the driver is in no mood to hide his frustration, loudly reacting to the cars around him while the whole ride barely moves an inch. After being boxed in that long, it’s easy to see how even the most experienced navigator could start to come unglued.

Jumble Jeff and Kathy ride in the back, taking very different approaches to the gridlock. Jeff wonders if anyone ever gets used to traffic like this, while Kathy suggests they simply get out and walk. Neither one seems thrilled about sitting still, but they’re a lot calmer than the driver.

The cab’s interior shows a beaded drivers seat cover, an old-style bench seat and a steering wheel with a column-mounted shifter. On top of the cab is an advertisement on its banner that says “Jumble The Musical.”

🧠 FINAL SOLVE

The final answer was a 9-letter anagram that solved into a 6 + 3 layout. While today’s cartoon showed the passengers stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic, my solve stayed in the easy lane from start to finish. With all four clue words coming together in a snap, DRIVE was my first instinct after spotting the V. Removing those letters left MAD staring back, and adding the remaining N completed DRIVEN MAD to finish the puzzle. If today’s puzzle slowed you down, our biggest nudges were the cabbie completely losing his patience behind the wheel and the frustrated expression on his face, making it clear he had been DRIVEN MAD by hours of city traffic.
