📷 POSE FOES
Today’s cartoon takes us behind the scenes of a photo shoot, where one model is clearly getting plenty of attention from the camera. While the photographer is impressed by what she sees, a rival model seems far less enthusiastic about sharing the spotlight. Between the glowing compliments, the studio setup, and the growing jealousy in the room, it’s easy to tell that someone wasn’t thrilled about having a new face competing for center stage.

➤ Not a Fan Club
In the foreground, a man with short hair, a small hoop earring in his right ear, and a T-shirt is chatting with a fashion model. The model has a small beauty mark above her left upper lip, an earring in her left ear, and is pointing toward the other model with obvious disapproval. Their expressions make it clear they’re not discussing the weather.
➤ Center Stage Attention
The featured model stands confidently on the photo backdrop wearing a halter-style top, tight jeans with a belt buckle, and boots. Both knees show torn fabric. Her hair is piled high with shorter sides and back, and she wears a large hoop earring in her right ear. Long eyelashes, a visible navel, and a confident pose explain why she’s getting all the attention. Behind the camera, the photographer has her hair pulled into a ponytail and is looking through the viewfinder while wearing a T-shirt and pants.
➤ Lights, Backdrop, Action
A large photography backdrop hangs behind the model while a studio light is aimed directly toward the shooting area.
🧠 Final Solve
The final answer was a 12-letter anagram that solved into a 5 + 1 + 6 layout. Our second to last puzzle of the workweek had me doing a double take for a bit. What finally got things moving was noticing the way the new model was standing with one arm raised in the air. That helped me lock onto POSED almost immediately. Once those letters were removed, A and THREAT stepped into place without any resistance to wrap things up for the finish. If today’s puzzle slowed you down, our nudges were the new face in the photo shoot, who POSED for the camera while at the same time POSED A THREAT to the established model based upon the dialogue between her and her counterpart.
