🔎 Jumble Jeff’s Jems

➤ JACKPOT MOMENT

She’s holding up a Lotto Money ticket in her left hand with the number 54 clearly visible, a possible nod to 1954, when the puzzle was first published on Monday, June 7th. Her right hand is up near her mouth, earring visible in her right ear. She’s wearing a red v neck shirt and seated at the table with a coin in front of her for scratching.

➤ SOMETHING’S OFF

He’s seated next to her wearing a collared aqua green shirt, looking concerned. He’s working on the puzzle section of the newspaper with a pen beside it. On the page, you can see the jumble, Boggle, and a crossword.

🧠 Final Solve

The final answer was a 14-letter anagram that would solve into a “4” + 10 layout. This one had me scratching my head for a bit. Nothing jumped out at first, so I knew I was in for a grind. Noticing April 1 in the cartoon sentence tipped me off to April Fool’s Day. With FOOL pulled from the layout, it took a bit, but DISCLOSURE came into view a minute or two later. Definitely not a gimme! If you had trouble with today’s solve, our nudges were his line about having something he needs to tell her, as well as the cartoon sentence omitting the word FOOL.
