CARTOON ANSWER:

BEHOOVED HIM
Welcome Back
Puzzle Players!

🐎 Nailed It

Today’s cartoon trots us into a stable where we see a farrier hard at work. The horse he’s shoeing looks more than impressed, practically singing his praises, while the farrier shrugs it off like it’s another day on the job. This clearly isn’t his first rodeo. He’s doing what he does best and making it look easy. When skill meets satisfaction like this, it’s the kind of setup that really works in your favor.

➤ THE FARRIER

The farrier is bent over holding the horse’s left hoof in his left hand. A horseshoe is positioned on the hoof while he grips a trimming tool in his right hand. He’s wearing an apron over a collared shirt, with a mustache and a small patch of hair under his lower lip.

➤ THE HORSE

The horse has a white stripe running down its snout and two visible teeth sticking out. Its head is turned toward the farrier, positioned close behind him during the shoeing.

➤ THE STABLE

They’re standing inside a stable with a wooden-framed entryway. Hanging to the right of the opening is a looped set of reins. Beyond the doorway, a fenced pasture stretches across the background.

🧠 FINAL SOLVE

The final answer was an 11-letter anagram that solved into an 8 + 3 layout. By the flow of the cartoon sentence, HIM felt like the obvious three-letter piece, which gave me a bit of a leg up. From there, the V stood out as the odd letter, and paired with the O’s, it started steering things toward HOOVED. Once that clicked, BE- was tacked on for a proper fit and finish. If today’s solve slowed you down, the visual of the hoof getting all the attention and the line about getting paid to do work he enjoyed were our nudges.
